5 out of 5- My BEST airsoft gun...,
Reviewer: CAR-15 from St. Louis, MO

INTRODUCTION: Well. First off I would like to start off by asking you to PLEASE rate this review if it HELPED you or not. I intend to include EVERY detail i know on this AEG, but I am also throwing in my knowledge of the real steel thompson, because while you may not find this interesting, a lot of other people including me might find it interesting to know. So please donít rate this review non-helpful just because the first paragraph is not about the airsoft gun. THANK YOU.

THE REAL STEEL Thompson originated in 1928 (Actually way before WW2) During the end of WW1. It arrived too late to be fully supplied as America's standard Sub-Machine gun. At that time it was called the M1928A1, or better known as the "Tommy" gun. The name originates from its inventor, Colonel J. T. Thompson. The gun worked on the usual blowback system. It was of course, a .45in. The gun used either a standard 50-round box magazine or the 20-round box magazine, or "stick" magazine. In 1938, The real "THOMPSON" came into view. It was called the M1A1. It was, indeed, the M1928A1 or "Tommy" gun, but with several changes, mostly external. The main difference INTERNALLY was the abolition of the H-piece and the substitution of a heavier bolt to compensate for this. Externally, A huge difference was the change of the fore-grip, for the better in my opinion. The "Tommy" gun had a long coil around the barrel, and a forward pistol grip. This was exchanged for the wooden straight forehand grip you can now see on your casual Thompson. (Google it for a pic, you will know what I'm talking about) The rear sight was also changed, The rather complex backsight on the M1928 was traded out for a simple flip. (The one on Call of Duty) The new Thompson could not take the 50-round drum magazine. But this was not a huge loss, for the drum mag hadnít proven very reliable in dirty situations. The other 20-round stick mag could be used, and a 30-round stick mag was created for the Thompson. Yet another simplification was the incorporation of a fixed firing pin on the face of the bolt, resulting in the M1A1 version of the gun.

NOW THE AIRSOFT GUN!!!!

TNSIDE OF THE BOX The beautifully crafted Thompson was horizontally laid in the Styrofoam, with the magazine (modeled after the 30-round stick mag) out of the gun, and under the grip. the sling was located to the right of that, and the speed loader further to the right.

THE RPM was slow, but it was acceptable. I probably would have taken any other gun back, but the slow cyclic rate sort of fits the Thompsonís style. But it makes up for the low RPM in the power, accuracy, and most definitely intimidation factors. This gun truly is amazing already, and the low cyclic rate has not bothered me AT ALL during wars, this fine piece of Equipment IS so Accurate and has the distance that I hardly ever need to take it off Semi-Auto. But yes, I will admit it does indeed of a rather low RPM. But donít let that bother you. Moving on....

THE INTIMIDATION FACTOR is off the charts. EVERYONE knows the Thompson, and when they see me walk up to a war with it, I can see the group cautiously eyeing it EVERYTIME. Even better, the sound makes your eyes water. It is a load CRACK!! It makes you glad youíre not on the other end. I have stopped several enemy charges by simply firing this gun straight up into the air, no joke. Sends them running every time.

THE FPS is very good. My locale airsoft shop tested it with a .12g BB just for kicks....It graphed in at 426 FPS!! I was amazed. This strong power is needed For when your shooting at your enemy through a not COMPLETELY solid object, like if you were shooting through a bush, the BB will make it through EVERY time, and the enemy is SURE to feel it!!

ACCURACY is one of my FAVORITE parts of this gun. Itís amazing. I can get retreating men over a field away! (In my woods, some fields over 110 feet.) I can pick out a soda can every time from about 80-90 feet. And that is EVERY time. I can hit a soda can form 100-120 feet away a little over half the time. The sights are very cool, they are the M1A1 sights, and the rear sight has two different ways you can aim the SMG. Like a rifle, or if you do some minor shoulder adjustments, the sight look like somewhat of a pistol-like sight.

THE CAPACITY/MAGAZINE is brilliant. It looks JUST like the real-steal 30-round mag, down to every detail. 60 is not a HORRID capacity, but it isnít really enough for a good war. I bought two $30.00 fully metal high cap mags from my locale airsoft shop, and those are decent....I mean they help, ALOT, but they also jam...ALOT. And when they do, Its hard to find something good to hit them against, as this is the quickest (and unfortunately most efficient) way to unjam them, and this still takes awhile. Something like a helmet would be perfect to unjam them. It happens so much that in a war one time I was left with nothing but my reliable, but low-cap sixty-round mag, and two almost fully loaded, yet jammed hi-caps. I have lubed them several times, yet the problem continues. But the mag that came with the gun, no problems here. A clean, smooth feed. Really makes you feel safe with that sixty-round mag in, low-cap or not!

Accesories: It comes with the classic speed loader, nice quality there. Now, the sling. Oh, man. A real looker. She is the classic Thompson sling, the green one you always see in the movies. It looks AMAZING on this gun. Unfortunately, Shortys is right. Mine lasted about two days before it broke....just take there word for it, Donít use it, except for looks. It also comes with a rather new-looking cleaning rod. Good stuff.

CONCLUSION: My best gun, I have gotten over twenty kills in the past month, and only gotten out twice, and one of those times I had this slung on my back and was trying to get some kills with my UTG M3l TrI-barrel shotgun. My favorite airsoft gun, and one of my favorite real guns, and a definite classic at that. Get this gun For that amazing feeling of security on the field.

3 out of 5- SD87B,
Reviewer: CAR-15 from St. Louis, MO

INTRODUCTION:Decent gun. Was waiting for me under the tree LAST year, so I have had some experience with it. Actually a pretty good gun for the price, their shell system is cool, and accuracy is decent. it does pretty well in just about all categories. I of course never really use it in games; If I bring a shotgun I use the UTG M3. However, this gun is real well on the defensive side of the war. It's great for quick pop-up shots because it's so simple. I can get really quick, accurate pop ups. But for any shot that is even somewhat long distance, let's say anything over 45 ft, forget it. You can hit it in target practice, but it still isn't easy and takes a lot of time and aim. In a game you don't have that time, you're under fire by an AEG and most likely cannot see your target clearly.

IN THE BOX: The gun is set into the foam with the pistol-grip on the right and the barrel on the left end of the box. under the shell-ejection port there's a cool little cardboard box painted with TSD logos and trademarks all over it, just like the rest of the box. In the little box are the shells and the leather shell-carrier. The shell-holder is nice leather, and holds the shells nice and tightly. And it isn't annoying either. WARNING: take the shells out of the loops when you're done; they're plastic and they'll stretch out if you don't. Then your shells just fall right out.

RATE OF FIRE: I can pump this gun so easily and so quickly, it almost makes up for the fact that there aren't any iron sights. ALMOST. It is capable of slam-firing; but I don't recommend it.

INTIMIDATION FACTOR: Not so high. It looks kinda cool, but let's face it, it's a spring shotgun, no experienced player or most novice players won't be bothered by it. The shells on the side do give it a bit of a good touch though. It has a nice crack when fired.

FIREPOWER: FPS isn't bad. I definitely think it's higher than 260, for sure. I would say an even 300. I'll tell you, it stings. It travels pretty far too. I'll admit, it's no 500 FPS but it gets the job done. A little more power couldn't hurt though, you can barely even hear it hit a tree if you're laying down cover for somebody. which you shouldn't do with a shotgun anyway...

ACCURACY: Pretty hard to aim with no iron sights. especially on a gun like this. but it isn't too hard to hit human-size targets, even when you're running. but if it's a head poking out, or you see someones foot, forget it. even from 15 ft. away, it's hard to hit a head or foot.

CAPACITY/MAGAZINE: It's pretty cool, each shell holds 14 and there's four. that's 56 shots, not bad. that takes FOREVER to deplete with a spring shotgun, believe me. And with that leather shell holder, I can switch out shells quickly. Also, When you open the ejection port, the shell pops out like a real shotgun. And to open the ejection port you just flick a switch that is just forward of the trigger guard; nice and simple for those tight moments under fire.

ACCESORIES: Like I said, that leather shell holder is very useful, and the LEAST bit annoying. It provides very quick reloads. I can't remember if it came with a speed loader or not I think it did. Either way, this one does, and that loads the shells one shell in like three pumps; one second practically.

CONCLUSION: A decent gun, but it really just is meant for those backyard battles with a friend, nothing special. I'm going to say it CANNOT compete with ANY high-end AEG, and can't compete with MOST mid-grade AEGS. An okay choice for your money, but I would save up for something that will actually put a little fear on the field.

3 out of 5- Poor Quality....,
Reviewer: CAR-15 from St. Louis, MO

These shells, the ones that hold thirty, which came with my UTG M3L TRI-Barrel shotgun-have NOT Impressed me. They jam SO much, It really is a joke. I have TSD shells which came with a different shotgun. They have no jamming, holding, or clinging problems WHATSOEVER. The only downside to those shells is that they only hold 14. Now The other Day I was shooting My UTG shotgun with JUST the two thirty shot shells that came with the gun. I was shooting for two hours. In those two hours, I am NOT going to exaggerate, the shells jammed a total of FIFTEEN times. And about three times, I would take the shells out and a BB or two would just roll out of the shell housing. 15 jams in two hours, that is pathetic. And I didnt even use the shotgun the whole time. I mean yeah, I guess you REALLY shoud get these shells, in the long run. I mean now youll have MUCH more than TWENTY shots. You should get them, yes, but just heed my warning, and beware of these problems.

5 out of 5- CANNOT BE BEAT.,
Reviewer: CAR-15 from St. Louis, MO

You simply cannot get anything better for your Mp5. The looks are OUTSTANDING, these mags provide the ultamate realism. They are a perfect blend between the Mp5 Hi-Caps and the ones that hold 30.Not only is there NO WINDING, but they dont make that annoying ratteling and shaking noise, and they hold triple what the standard mags hold!! This simply cannot be beat, and the price is SIMPLY AWESOME. I mean, they arent even metal. But nevertheless, they are still very durable, and feeding at 1,000 rounds per minute is pretty impressive, and it is compatible with practically EVERY Mp5 you come across. Almost EVERY Mp5 mag is like that. even the Hi-Caps. Once these are loaded up, you are GOOD TO GO. There is NO WINDING INVOLVED, and there are 90 BBs in here, That is ALOT of BB's for a single non-hi-cap mag, and once again....YOU DONT HAVE TO WIND AT ALL. and even if you WERE to run out of ammo, these are WAAY easier and quicker to load than the Hi-Caps.....As long as you have the UTG Speed-Loader (great item by the way, see my review on BOTH of those)

4 out of 5- VERY POPULAR, GOOD GUN.,
Reviewer: CAR-15 from St. Louis, MO

Okay, i dont have the gun, but i have THREE friends that do. even though when they use this gun in wars and i own them every time, i think it may be because this gun really depends on the shooter. it is good for any type of battle, but SUPERB for CQB's. Is very accurate, eventhough there are NO SIGHTS. but there is a railing on the top for a dot sight or aimpoint, which is a good investment with this gun. It has a distinct way to cock it, in which i mean it cocks different than my other two airsoft shotguns. Not in a bad way, i sort of like it. Overall, i give this gun a four because it is durable, has a great FPS, pretty accurate, but its just not that great in long range battles.

CAR-15 OOOUT!

5 out of 5- IT has its perks.,
Reviewer: CAR-15 from St. Louis, MO

Being a very Retro Airsofter, I of course was very hyped on the triple-shot effect. But looking beyond that, I will review the actual shotgun, not just the fact that it shoots three BBs.

ACCURACY is pretty good, The rifle sights are a godsend. I use .2gs, and it really can get some good distances. I can shoot across entire fields of 80-90 ft. and have atleast two of the three BBs hit, eight out of ten shots in the mag/shell. Close up, this thing is a BEAST. Even when using .2gs, they hardly EVER curve at forty-fifty feet. Maybe one of the three BBs wont reach its target, about one out of every ten shots.

THE SOUND of the shot is frightening. It is a WHAM noice, and you can just FEEL the power of the three BBs being projected. It sounds like its breaking when you dry-fire it, it sounds so strong. Although I'm, sure it isnt BREAKING. And the sound of THREE BBs slapping into ANY target sounds positively thrilling.

CAPACITY/AMMO is where I was slightly dissapointed. And not just because it only has ten shots, twenty w/ both shells. The fact that you cant buy more shells HERE is sort of dissapointing, but I am lucky enough to own the TSD pump shotgun, which uses the same shells...almost. The bad thing about those shells is that they only hold 14, but I do have FOUR of them. And I can buy more @ my locale retailer, But its THIRY DOLLARS for just THREE shells. The TSD shells also do not jam as much as these, which brings us to our most annoying problem with this gun. The shells that came with this gun jam SO MUCH its pathetic. In the two hours I shot this morning, the shells jammed TWELVE times, and I didnt even use my shotgun the whole two hours. And In the same time span, FIVE times BBs just poured out of the shotgun when I took the shell out. The TSD shells never did ANY of this.

THE ACCESSORIES with this gun were....new. It came with the classic UTG speed loader, which was placed in the styrafoam under the pump of the shotgun, to the right. To thr right of that, just under the pistol grip part of the shotgun, were the two shells (Mine were red & Black, but apparentley color may vary.) Further to the right, under the stock, was the sling. Talk about wierd, this sling has no hooks, clamps, or any other metal parts to attacth to trhe guns sling rings. Fortunately, It only took me about six minutes to figure it out. ( may take a normal person three, I'm kinda slow) The sling is HUGE, so you will probabley want to tighten it a bunch. But the bad thing is, the more you tighten it, the more there is of this annoying little flap hanging out, and the only real way to get it to not fly around or flap in the wind is to either stitch it to the other part of the sling, or tape it to the other part of the sling. The sling was an odd one.

COCKING this gun is harder than most springers, but dont be fooled, It really isnt that hard at all. But after a good long shooting session your arm may be a little sore. And if you try to caock it while still up against your shoulder, which I do quite alot, Your shoulder will become sore very quickly. When cocking it, you can really feel the power building up for your next shot. Every now and then, the pump will get stuck on your forwad push when coking it. when this happens, you have to go all the way back down, until it clicks AGAIN, and then go forward. This is bad because it then shoots like six BBs, and gets NO dostance and is NOT accurate.

OVERALL this is a GREAT gun. The three-shot is helpful, but the accuracy, power, looks, and reliability are really what makes this gun a real weapon.

It is not the gun that makes the soldier, it is the solid tactician holding it.

Its ALRIGHT, pretty much, its only worth its price, you get what you paid for. A definitely handy thing to have around, This spare mag helps out, yet its made out of cheap plastic, and the reservoir in it is confusing, and BB's fall out of it really easily when its not in the gun.

PRO:
~Good to have in sticky situations.
~OKAY durability
~Okay capacity

CON:
~BB's fall out of the top (I suggest putting a little tape over the top or putting it in a mag pouch right-side-up very snuggly)
~Not an awesome capacity
~Believe it or not, you can get better mags for cheaper than this.

I love this holster, I have two of them. You kind of need a belt on if you want It on your waist, Or Its attatchable to several tactical vests, too. It has quick and easy action, You can get to your sidearm fast if you need to. Like I sed earlier, you'll need a belt If you want it to stay on REALLY god.If youre not wearing a belt it stays on O.K. And the tighter the belt, the better it will stay on your waist. It looks awesome, and It's only 12 dollars, thats pretty good compared to some of theese other holsters.
Overall, a very good holster, and its only TWELVE BUCKS!!!! Get It.

5 out of 5- WILL NOT BREAK,
Reviewer: CAR-15 from St. Louis, MO

this is the BEST, STRONGEST sling I've ever had. I have gone through sooooo many slings, its not even funny. But this one has NEVER broken on me. Unfortunately, I was in a war yesterday, and i had my M-16 in my hands, my vest on full of weapons and ammo, and this sling was holding my sniper-rifle on my back. As i was running, i heard a SNAP!, and my sniper fell to the ground. I remember thinking, There's no way the sling actually finally broke. so i stopped running, ran back, grabbed my sniper, and grabbed some cover behind a tree. Now i was pinned down. Upon further inspection, my sniper wasnt REALLY broken in any serious way, and i looked at the sling, and IT wasnt broken. As I looked closer at my rifle, BB's clinking every where, the actual rings ON THE GUN HAD BROKE!!! NOT THE SLING!! I was like HOLY KRAP!! The sling is stronger than the rings BUILT FOR A SLING!!! But unfortunately, since i was pinned down, and had no way of carrying my guns effeciently, I was shot and lost the war :( But nevertheless, you have to think this out. The SLING WAS STRONGER THAN THE RINGS ON THE GUN. That really sez sumthin.

5 out of 5- good clip, leaks a little,
Reviewer: CAR-15 from St. Louis, MO

Overall, a pretty good mag. It's durability is a truly AWESOME thing., and REALLY heavy. You will need an extra mag with this gun, i often loose track while shooting, and run out of ammo really fast. My clip that came with the gun worked fine. But when I bought an extra mag, THATS the one that had problems. The spare would leak gas really bad, and was nearly impossible to get gas into. I took it into my locale shop and had my friend who works there take a look at it. It turns out that it didnt come with this little black rubber ring in side the little space where you stick the gas nozzle into. He put one in for me, then it worked fine. I dont know if all of them here come with out those little black rubber rings or not, but If it does, it sure makes it ALOT easier!! And of course, the usual PRO's & CON's....

PRO:
~heavy!!!
~holds 25 BB's
~pretty durable

CON:
~Sometimes, it can be hard to load the gas in.....i will point it correctly and all, but it will just SPRAAAY everywhere...
~pretty Slow to load it by hand!
~Can sometimes eat gas a little fast.

5 out of 5- OUCH.,
Reviewer: CAR-15 from St. Louis, MO

This gun and I have some issues. Before my friend bought this excellent piece of hardware, there was never ANY competition for me and my M1a1 Thompson. But now, in the field, im afraid to blink. And the combination is unbeatable: the BEST accuracy I have ever witnessed and The pain of an MK. carbine!! It really is scary. But other than its amazing performance, Its cosmetics arent bad either. It has a rather hefty wieght, which I like, And he got it not from shorty but from our locale retailer, and it came with everything included in this packege, and a scope (which, unfortunatley for me, is a GOOD scope) I have been shot with it only once, but it was about two inches away from my family jewels, so that has been plenty for me. The mags are a little tricky to load, you have to pull down a plastic layer and then there is just an awkward tube sticking out. If you want to use a UTG speed loader, (who doesnt) you have to pinch two sides of the tube so BBs do not pour out of the sides of the tube, for it has some open sides (hard to describe, but you will know what im saying if u have the gun.) A very amazing thing about this gun, is the noise. I was in a war, and our sniper ran out of ammo. I was giving him my UTG speed loader, and My friend with this sniper took a shot, and it whizzed past my head. Now some people may believe me or not, but I know what i heard. The BB whizzed past my head, and I heard the scariest noise ever. it was a VERY high-pitched whine, which started small, then got louder, louder, louder, then quieter, then quieter, then gone. all in about 2 seconds. That had me RUNNING!!! The sides around the barrel are very thick, which is probably what helps make it so quiet. Get this gun if you are looking for....Actually, just buy it. If youre not a sniper, after shooting this gun, you will WANT to be one.
