- A True Review, January 27, 2008
I just got this gun in the mail the other day. I have to say, honestly, im in shock. I went up to the local sporting goods store to look at some guns. They have a AR-15 with collapsable stock up there for sale. I asked to hold it and look it over. Wow, im in shock as i said earlier. It feels exactly the same as this UTG rifle. Along with the same metal parts. So i took off the rear sight, which is very good i might add, easy to adjust, and so on, and through on a leapers red/green dot scope. on the bottom rail of the ris system i through on a ris foregrip, on the left rail a deluxe tac flashlight. and a utg laser on the right. The shorter barrel is very good for me, for i play alot of tac indoor and night games. might i suggest the 8 pack of 100 round clips for this, because they do not make as much noise. note: the clip it comes with is very good. As for the internals. They are pretty good, not the best, but very good. Also with the externals being extremely good, it protects the internals very well. Shooting wise, the fps shorty gives seems close to the average fps, also with the range. I chroned it. For the battery being in the ris is very easy. the hinged bottom rail is exceptionally stable, and with being able to put up to a 8.4 4200 mah battery in the ris, makes this gun a long play time rifle with a nice collapsable stock. short barrel makes it compact and a great gun. I truly say you should buy this gun, for a gun that will last you. Its worth the price, because lets say you buy a mpeg for 150, in 6 months, somethign happens to it, you buy another for 170 for a lil better quality, but it still breaks, which in the end will happen with mpeg's, trust me i know.
this gun you can get now and will last years
get this, the 8 pack 100 round mid cap mags, and silicone lube
youll be rockin the game
take it from someonme experienced in airsoft
**please rate**
thank you
ghost out

First off I just got to get this off of my mind LOOKS: 1000/100 ok thats it. I love how this gun has not one but four rails and my suggestion is to get a lazer sight on one of the front ones. It is too bad that the bottom rail is covered up so you can't put a grenade launcher on it but I wonder if you can take those pieces off and put them somewhere else. (shorty please clarify that)
Also I like the fact that you can put in a Large 8.4 Volt battery. That in my mind is maybe the most important thing to a gun other than the fact that it can shoot straight.
Todays automatic guns are just getting better in the fact that they can shoot 150 feet effective range. This is crazy seeing as how this gun can while shooting 800 bbs per minuite!
The Fps in my opionion are just perfect. I don't think that you can get it any better. In my mind 380 is too much, 300 is too little and 330 will make someone think twice about engaging you at close range.
To me this gun has all of the things that other companies wish they put on their gun.
I don't know about the internals on this gun. I would let someone else buy the gun, put their review on this site then see for yourself. In my best estimation I would say that they will last 8-12 months before you see any sort of decrease in porformance.
As you can see I don't actually have the gun just saw it on Shorty's site and wanted to review it. I said this because I want to show you tha you can have quality reviews and help in the decision making of gun buying without actually having the gun
Remember you should only rate a review if the review helped or not. Please don't rate the review if you don't like the person or the review was short or definitely if the review was not by someone who did not actually have the gun.
Thank you ShortyUSA for a great website.

- Great Gun, January 27, 2008
Another great release by UTG. This gun might look weird but it is very intimidating. This gun is a beast out on the field. The only weird part of this gun is trying to put the battery in. The RAS opens and u put it in there. Makes the gun just a little front heavy.
Pros:
Full Metal
Good Stock FPS
Good ROF
Very Intimidating
metal RAS
stock pretty comfortable
Cons:
A little hard to get the battery in
Price
Overall very good gun. A little on the expensive side for a UTG but worth it.4/5 just because of the price. Probably UTGs best gun so far. If you have the money this has got to be on your list.

- UTG Model 4 Commando Assault Rifle, March 24, 2008
This airsoft rifle by Under The Gun is high quality and quite intimidating, and a great addition to any arsenal (if you have the money). Almost $300 is a lot for a UTG gun like this, but the metal body, strength, and overall quality makes up for it.
-This weapon's full metal composition makes it--- not only gives it a hefty feel but also makes it a very realistic M4 and a beautiful one at that.
-Nice foregrip and adjustable stock for smaller players or smaller quarters.
-This gun has a good rate of fire, nice range, and great strength at 360 fps with .20's.
-Very flexible and able to fill a lot of roles. Get a raiser mount (front iron sight cannot be removed 'conventionally'), scope and bipod, and you have an automatic sniper. Get a spare clip and bipod, and you have a support gunner. Get a red dot sight, laser sight or whatever else you can think of and you have a (rather big but still great) CQB weapon.
-Just the iron sights are very accurate and extremely adjustable, even though the rear sight doesn't have the distinctive M4 carry handle.
-So many mounting rails, you won't know what to put on all of them! I recommend a red dot sight and spare magazine for starters, then get the 8.4v 4200 MAH battery pack and smart charger, laser sights, flashlights, bipods, or whatever else you want once you've got a feel for the gun.
[!]WARNING[!]
The battery compartment doesn't leave much room for the loose wires, and the gun's metal edges can EASILY cut or strip any wires jutting out, so ALWAYS look around the compartment for loose wires before you close it. Get used to tucking away the wires safely. Additionally, the foregrip and 3 rail protectors can be a hassle to get on at first, but it probably won't be a problem once you've got it on.
Overall, a great addition to the modern airsoft warrior. The gun's strength and range, metal body, and role flexibility make this the premier assault rifle for any terrain, role, and player.

- Dang good gun, February 12, 2008
Just from the start when you look at this gun it is sooo nice. But other then that it is very accurate and shoots 360 fps! The ammount of rails on it allows you to put on scopes bipods or lazers to make your accuracy even better. The rail system is very effective.
Pros:
Full Metal
Good Stock FPS
Very Intimidating
stock pretty comfortable
rail system
Cons:
A little hard to get the battery in
Price is a little high

- Ooooh!, May 01, 2008
This gun just makes me drool. UTG is still on top of their game; making super high quality weapons for cheaper prices.
Now, I'm a follower of the theory that there is a limit to how fast a gun can fire. There is also a limit to how powerful it can be. I keep my guns within 400fps just because that's about the max permited on fields. Having a battery that can run for 3 days straight on continual automatic fire is just a waste of money. Keep it cheap; it's the same amount of bb's coming out. I know, I know, the metal types are much more durable than my 50% plastic weapons, but I'm not planning on kicking them down the side of a 50ft. rocky ravine. I take good care of them and they work just fine for me. An Echo 1 serves me just as well as a Tokyo Marui ever possibly could, just without the "wow" factor. It's much cheaper too.
This gun is really shaking my resolve. I'm a fan of UTG and this gun is not doing anything to change that in the slightest. I'm pretty sure it can even take that fifty-foot fall, even if I'm still not planning on kicking it down.
POWER! heheh. Never can have too much of it can you?
And if all else fails you can even use it to beat cheaters senseless!

- Hmmm......., January 26, 2008
I'm a bit wary of this weapon. I was able to borrow it from a friend for an entire day, and I have to admit, it is a fine machine. It's got considerable range, accuracy, and power for a gun of its size, but the real problem I have with it is the identity crisis it seems to be having. It is based on the CQC variant of the M4, but the problem is that really to bring it up to snuff for me (getting a stronger battery, some bearings instead of bushings, and a stronger, faster spring), it's going to be completely unsuitable for indoors use. So what? that makes it an outdoors weapon, right? Not really. It doesn't even have the barrel length of an M4. I'm just saying that for this price, go for a G&G. It'll last you longer and you don't have to overhaul it. Plus, these new UTG's haven't been out for long enough to really see how long they last. I'd say buy a G&G for outdoors, and a JG or Echo1 for indoors/urban use. As for this thing I can't really recommend it unless you are looking for a good gun that you aren't planning to upgrade. If you do upgrade this, keep those upgrades to a minimum and hope this gun holds up.

this is not the greatest. it shoots like the echo's and has decent range and accuracy. its internals are not the greatset and its $100 more than the echo1 m4 ris. why not get that. this is way to much cash for a utg. dont recommend this to anyone.

- It's UTG., January 29, 2008
This gun has fairly good quality, and the metal body has a nice feel. The internals aren't quite as good.
Pros - Metal body
High FPS
Good looks
Cons - Not as reliable as other brands (you could save money with another brand)
Doesn't operate as smoothly as other brands
Gears and such probably won't last you as long as those of the better known brands, but it works fine for now
