The Minigun has been in service since the Vietnam War and has been used in various applications from convoy escort vehicles to helicopter gunships. They have even been mounted to the decks of navel vessels for defense against surface attacks. Miniguns were used very limitedly by foot infantry due to the guns heavy weight and large appetite for ammunition. This airsoft replica is modeled after the handheld “Hollywood” Minigun which has starred in several action films. Realistically this gun would never be configured in this way since at its peak fire rate the Miniguns recoil produces 300 lbs of lateral force. However, for airsoft this configuration works very well!

The ECHO 1 Minigun is made in Japan in partnership with CAW so quality is exceptionally high. It is constructed out of metal and weighs close to 50 lbs fully loaded so this isn’t exactly the type of gun you want to rush bunkers with. The only visible part which isn’t metal is the fighter jet style grip which houses the manual safety and trigger. Ammunition is held in a large 1700rd magazine and is pushed into the corkscrew feed system by a massive spring loaded follower. The internal mechanism of the Minigun is surprisingly similar to the real gun. Inside of the guns receiver are six separate spring pistons which are independently cocked and fired as their housings rotate on a track. This is all run by a motor which is equal in size to that of a cars starter and is powered by a 12 volt battery which is the same as those used in motorcycles and ATV’s.

When you squeeze the trigger the six barrel cluster quickly spools up to 500 revolutions per minute which produces a noticeable amount of torque. At its peak fire rate the Minigun will unleash a withering 3,000 rounds per minute which means this gun will put 50 rounds in the air in just one second. At 120 feet the Minigun will put down a highly concentrated cone of firepower however it is possible to engage area targets out to 150 feet or beyond.

If you are looking to deploy less than subtle tactics at your next airsoft event or just need an awesome centerpiece for your living room, the Minigun is sure to stop people in their tracks.

Comes with: ECHO 1 Minigun certificate of authenticity, electronic control box, 12V 12000 mah battery, 1Amp smart charger and wood shipping crate.

5 out of 5- Coming from somebody who actually OWNS the gun and model..., September 04, 2009

I decided to review this since everyone else is just thinking their logic: "LOL MINIGUN IT HASSS TO BE THE BEST GUN EVUUUR"

Oh boy. You're probably thinking: "HOLY **** SHORTY IS SELLING MINIGUNS"
    Yes, they are.

You probably already know the power of miniguns. I mean, it all gave us jibblies when it destroyed that Television. We've all said in our lifetime: "Ahh, if only i had one of those" And then went about fantasizing about how it would be the best gun ever.

Well, while it's the darndest fun thing you could EVER fire (Besides the real thing), it's not the most practical gun ever. Let's get started, then.

This thing looks SO GOOD. I mean, SO REALLY GOOD. If I saw this thing coming toward you during a war, I'd **** my pants. There's NOTHING more explosively awesome than the Minigun. Oh yeah, Full metal, obviously. The construction is incredible, very nice and detailed. It weighs 50 LBS, and that's some SERIOUS weight right there. Better bust out those weights if you want to carry this in a war. The short version significantly weighs less.
When I finally fully charged the battery and put in the magazine, I was appalled. This thing shoots INCREDIBLY fast and FAR. It's not THAT accurate because, well, it is a minigun after all, but that doesn't matter. This has the highest RoF i have ever seen in a Airsoft gun, so don't accidentally waste your ammo. That also adds another realistic factor to it.
The distance the BB travels is quite decent. Quite decent indeed, and the FPS is INSANE. Much more than i expected.

Now that we've covered that this is the funnest gun you will ever fire, let's move onto how well it will perform in a war.

    Well, not that good.
Before i took it to a war I knew this wasn't going to perform good. It weighs 50 LBS, and that's a ****load, AND it was the main reason this can't do well.
This war took place in a forest, like many wars, and what do you think will do better: A sighted spas 12 or a 3,500$ minigun?
The shotgun, because it has better range and you can aim it better.
So even though being treated as a war hero for buying the minigun, i still got my ass handed to me. UNTIL village defense. The other team had no chance with the minigun mounted.

Overall, it's an incredibly fun and GREAT gun, only beset by its weight, and practicality in wars. If you do bring it to a war, you'll be treated like a war hero.

I HIGHLY recommend this gun to the rich, Those seriously seriously SERIOUSLY FREAKING HARDCORE ABOUT AIRSOFT, or those who just have some money lying around and want to fire the funnest airsoft gun ever.

Because it is, the funnest airsoft gun ever.

    4 out of 5- Yes it is a mini-gun..., September 14, 2009

I go to an airsoft field where they have 3 of these total, where they bolted 2 of them to steel plates. Any way once you get over the shock of HOLY **** IT'S A MINI-GUN, then you find that a mini-gun system has its flaws. First of all, the weight. The one that isn't bolted is in the middle for both sides to use, and is way too heavy to move with. That is the main flaw. The range isn't that much, so you usually get sniped or AEGed when using this.

I would do a pros/cons, but it's not too hard to figure out with this one.

I have 3 war stories, on the same day:

    Round 2 of 10
Having just got our asses handed to use because we did not have Intel on what guns they were using or their ranges, we decided to use a distracting idea. 2 guys, a AEG guy and a sniper rushed the movable min-gun in the middle, before the other team (from now on called red team) could get there. It was down low, in the middle of a low ditch. The AEG guy picked up the Mini-gun and the sniper got in position. They waited until 6-8 were in the open and started firing, they only got 2 out, but the rest ran for cover behind two 20ft high rocks. My group of me and a guy, along with a 3 man team on the other side of the 2 rocks swung around at the same time (team leaders used mics) and took out the guys that were covering from the min-gun. As now we had significantly higher numbers, we won that round only losing 1 guy on a 14v14.

    Round 6 of 10:
We decided to stay back at our base this time, using the mounted mini-gun on top(if you play COD it kind looks like the bunkers on cliff side, but bigger), i got to use it this time (yay) and we had found out that their battle plan had to have the main attacking force move up after the 2 side forces had moved in, or vice versa. Anyway we say this and our sniper saw guys moving prone up, and held fire. We waited until each had a man responsibility target and our team leader gave the order to open fire. At the sight and sound of their main force getting torn apart, their two side teams moved in. We had 2 teams, each in position for taking out that force when they came through. As the main force was taken out, i swung the minigun to the left and took out at least 4.

    Round 9 of 10:
They had only won 2 rounds now, so we decided to have some fun with them (psychological warfare). Me and my buddy silently crept over to their base and crept up the stairs. There was no one there so we got on the mini-gun while the other stealth units popped up out of nowhere to them, manning the mini guns for a few seconds before running away, and we kept doing this to them. It was fun, and we kept sending streams of BB's right at them, only getting 1-2 at a time, but soon, they only had a few guys left and I'm sure in a real battle they would have crapped their pants. They crowded together, and that when we unleashed the true power of the mini-gun. We got them all that round, and although it was the funnest, that was the highest casualties from the times we won.

    Overall:
    Get if rich.
This is 4 stars without considering price as a factor, if considered, is probably a -14!

    5 out of 5- I've shot it....and besides the price..., September 26, 2009

Intro: OK, I myself do not own this gun but my friend who does work at a local airsoft store does have the short barrel version and we got to try it out at the range and in a cqb field. Your first impression might be that this is the best thing since sliced bread, but it's not completely practical. Still...this gun was the most fun I have had in my life.(The only difference between the short and long barrel is the length, weight(2 more lbs), and the intimidation effect. My friend's boss said the performance is almost identical).

Appearance: When I got to the store I could not believe my eyes. Echo 1 sure is selling this for $3,500 for a good reason. It is a very realistic mini gun. Although some things like the mag and battery box aren't perfectly accurate...it looks fantastic for an airsoft version. The rotating barrels look absolutely menacing. Seeing six barrels rotating at you is terrifying, period. The handles on the gun also make it look sick. Holding it Rambo style makes you feel very empowered. The magazine also looks very prominent on the left since it is very big and sticks out far, holding 1700 rounds. Two very prominent things are the motor and battery holder. The motor is a beast (and huge) since all 6 spring pistons rotate and shoot its own BB. The battery holder doesn't look too bad but it affects balance a bit. All metal looks all good...and I like the patriotic sticker on the gun from echo 1.

Construction: When my friend told me he would sell it for 3500 i wasn't surprised. This gun is a huge rotating piece of metal. The only plastic were some external coverings and the grip. Everything like the barrel is solid metal. Loaded, it weighs over forty pounds easy (43 lbs?). Even though the handles make it easy to balance (and it is balanced nicely), it weighs a lot. I lift bags all day for work and this thing was still a pain to even walk with. This gun is not for the weak...period. Your foot will be broken if you drop it but the gun won't break. The internals are obviously all metal and have to be good since CAW helped develop the insane piston and motor system. Sorry we couldn't take it apart. The battery is an insane custom 12v 12,000mah. Yes...12,000...and it is very heavy compared to other aeg batteries...but you will need it and i'm glad echo 1 made a battery this big. It lasted for the entire time we shot...oh and when you hear the gun fire you won't believe your ears.

Shooting: At the range...I was amazed. This gun started rotating and was soon unleashing 3000RPM and sending them down range at 380-400fps. I found that .25 worked very well as far as range and the accuracy you have to deal with. The hop isn't too bad to adjust and it's straightforward. I thought this was gonna be a spray and pray gun but it isn't real. I can shoot from the hip very well while rushing and this gun is surprisingly accurate. With the long barrel and power we could hit man-sized targets at 150ft. Granted accuracy isn't an issue when you can have 50 shots a second later. The insane firepower and rof makes up for the accuracy. It is still spray and pray over 50ft away, but with a little practice a shooter can dominate the battlefield. Hearing the motor buzz and watching cardboard get shredded into oblivion was an absolute joy. My friend also let me shoot him at 20ft feet away at his leg. After a split second of me holding the trigger he screamed awhhhh! and fell to the ground. I went over and his leg was bloody and all red. It was hilarious (for me). Note: At less than 50 ft don't hold the trigger for more than half a second. You will get enough shots at the person. Save the ammo and the other guy's health.

Mag and Ammo: One thing that I actually loved a lot about the gun was the mag. It has a little trap door that is pretty big to load bbs. A person could take a 2000ct bottle and dump almost the entire thing into the mag. You then lock it in with two clamps on the gun and open the trap door. The thing just dumps in bbs and can unleash all of them. This mag is very nice and convenient especially if you are trigger happy and can't stop firing. And of coarse...it eats through ammo. EATS! In 10 minutes we burnt through thousands of bbs...but at least they were free. For good accuracy and range use .25..and duh high polish.

Conclusion: After seeing this gun in action...i have never fired anything like it. The construction is top notch and the performance is likewise. A strong and trained airsoft player would win on the field. The only reason I gave it a 5 was because the cost is expected for something of this epicness. The weight could be detrimental for some but this gun isn't for rushing and isn't accurate enough to be able to sweep through rooms quickly. It's a support gun...that can support everyone in a few seconds. My other gripe is the cost. I could never afford this (or the bbs). If you have a few grand lying around and are seriously into airsoft you won't be disappointed. Have fun.

    4 out of 5- HOLY ****, September 14, 2009

OK this gun is awesome. the weight is the only down part - that and the small clip for the gun. if you have the money get it but it is not practical to use in a war unless mounted. i suggest getting a golf cart or something and mounting it in that - it makes this so awesome plus you are more or less invincible but ya other that (the weight and clip) this gun is the best automatic you can get.

    wesker has spoken

well do shory on getting this gun.

1 out of 5- not as good as you'd think, October 12, 2009

I've fired this gun myself and it's not all it's cracked up to be.

First off, it's heavy as all get out which brings your mobility down to a 1 on a scale of 1 to 10.

Secondly, the range... mehh. You can be out ranged by a medium-quality aeg. Why the heck would you pay $3,500 for something that makes you a standing target that is out-ranged?

I'll admit the rpm is pretty stinking cool.

The mag has a pretty high capacity (1,700) BUT the magazine sticks out of the side and is kind of weird to load. It doesn't look true to the real gun.

Let's look at the cost: $3,500

Has anyone heard of Piper's Precision Products? They make custom airsoft weapons for Xcaliber Tactical, a company that makes military grade airsoft products used by law enforcement as less-than-lethal takedown weapons. One of their most popular items is the M134A2 Vulcan Mini-Gun. It looks true to the real deal. It's considerably lighter than Echo-1's version, though it's all metal. Instead of being an aeg, it's more of a custom sort of set up. It uses gas (Co2, compressed air, whatever. you tell them what you want to use and they make it happen for you) to propel the BB's but uses a battery to rotate the barrel. The thing is completely customizable with a FPS anywhere between 250 and 600. Just let them know what you want the FPS to be and they'll build the valve that way. If you are about to shell out $3,500 for a gun. You might as well spend another $2k on something that will actually gain you a tactical advantage.

On a similar note, if you're going to spend $5,000 on an airsoft gun, you might as well go for the XcaliberTactical Strafer Mk4Mod0.
    Check it out. Just saying.

    4 out of 5- 40 Pound Killing Machine, December 04, 2009

Echo 1 released their minigun to add some new strategy to the game. Since the gun is 30 pounds (45 loaded) typically people mount these in key strategic points of the game. Running around with this gun, it is far too heavy. You can be easily flanked while holding it next to your hip.

If you actually have people willing to go against you with this gun, it is great for adding some great defense. As for price, the weight running around with it, and the inability to get people to go anywhere near this gun when it's in the arms of the enemy, this is not so great.

If you have an airsoft club or team, these would be great for purchasing and mounting on some land if you own some. As for the soloists like me, don't be looking at a minigun.

    5 out of 5- Amazing!!!, January 12, 2010

I bought this gun... and let me tell you, this gun is the most fun gun to shoot and to bring to a battle. It will destroy the guy with VFC. Remember that guy? I sure don't. Now to pros and cons.

    Pros
    RPM!!!
    FPS
    looks
strikes fear into the hearts of snipers and practically every other human being.

    Cons
    Price
    weight again for some
    battery size

Overall, I have to give it a five out of five, because there is nothing else to compare it to, and if there was, it would destroy it with its 3000 RPM. Also, if you whip it out at the field and say, "Who's ready to go?" no one will answer. So, that basically sums up the echo 1 minigun long version.
    Thanx, csmith4

    4 out of 5- tower mount, February 14, 2010

For a friend's birthday he took our team to an airsoft field. They had two forts with a tower in the middle with one of these mounted on it.

In the first round i was put as a defensive sniper since they didn't believe in my sniper skills. I wasn't in the tower, but when the other team attacked the guy in the tower opened fire. At first he was missing everything, but once they got closer he just murdered them.

On the second match i was on the offense. Me and the rest of the attack team set up about 100 yards away from their base. At first the guy in their tower just started firing 'cause we where camouflaged, but the second a guy stood up he fell in pain. We all just opened fire and had to retreat. The bbs from the minigun where actually hitting our bbs in the air.

    3 out of 5- not practical , February 13, 2010

Well this is a nice gun and that is about all i will give it. This gun has amazing accuracy, is very reliable, but when you look at the fact you are paying 4 THOUSAND dollars you are kinda wasting your money when you could buy a nice m16 a lot of extra mags and all the tactical gear you could ever want and still have money left over from the amount you would have payed for this gun.

This gun is awesome. It has an insane rate of fire and nice FPS but it has its down sides. First, unless you're Brock Lesner, you're gonna have a rough time carrying this thing around. So in my opinion it should be vehicle mounted. Second, IT IS PRICY. At 3500 you could buy a nice aeg with better range with spare clips, accessories, and tac gear for under that price. Sadly an aeg cannot match its rate of fire though. In my opinion you should only buy this if you are going to put it on a tank or something. I bought it and I mounted it on an airsoft tank and it owned.
