Sig Sauer’s 9mm P228 is a compact version of its bigger brother the P226. With a shorter grip and a barrel that is just over half an inch shorter than the full size P226, the P228 works well as a concealed weapon. It is carried by Army CID, Air Force OSI and Navy NCIS Special Agents as well as numerous other military and law enforcement agencies.

This UHC made replica of the P228 is fully licensed by Sig Sauer and features detailed trademarks on its slide, grip and even the magazine. The attention to detail on this handgun is quite impressive for an inexpensive spring pistol since the trademarks and even the serial numbers are actually stamped into the plastic and not painted on like other models. Overall the pistol is very well constructed and although its weight is on the light side it feels exceptionally solid and sturdy. Its full size magazine holds an impressive 24 rounds and closely resembles the real P228’s magazine.

Performance is not what you would except from a compact pistol. Thanks to an aggressive hop-up system the P228 can effectively engage man sized targets out to 100 feet away using a .2g BB and while it isn’t the most powerful pistol it makes up for it with surprisingly good accuracy. If you are planning on shooting outdoors it is suggested to go with .2g BBs for best accuracy and range.

WARNING! Do not press the magazine release button when there is no magazine in the pistol. This can cause the spring to come out of place in the catch so the magazine will no longer lock into the pistol.

    3 out of 5- it's ok, April 09, 2009

this gun is ok. it's not the best but it's not the worst. it has ok range, and power. its accuracy isn't too well. on the good side, for a pistol this small, it has a pretty nice magazine capacity of 24 rounds. another thing i don't like is the style of it and the color. i would much rather have a black pistol because it looks more like a real gun, although i do like the comfort of the grip. here are the pros and cons:

    pros.........
    small
    light
    mag cap
    ejection port

    cons.........
    range
    power
    accuracy
    color
    locking slide

    5 out of 5- UHC sig p228, April 26, 2009

    This gun ROCKS!!!
It's accurate, durable, shoots pretty hard, and it has a good clip capacity.
When you look at the gun you will see a little tab - it is on the real sig sauer but this has no real purpose on the gun. it is just cosmetic.
It works well with .2 and .12 gram bbs.
Also this gun is concealable which helps just in case you need to keep it in your pocket or something like that.
One thing is this gun hurts bad from fairly close range. Like i got shot about 2 weeks ago and i still have a bruise.
One bad thing is some times it will shoot and then the bb will just curve down sharply, but all you have to do is shake the gun gently - I think this does something to the spring like loosen it or something like that but don't worry this only happens like 1 out of 100 clips when you load this gun.

    pros:
    fairly accurate
    good range
    good mag cap
    good looking sights not small
    easy and smooth cocking motion
works with both .2 and .12 bbs kinda hurts
    concealable

    cons
seam lines but doesn't affect performance at all

    hope it helps

    4 out of 5- 4 out of 5- Pretty Good, July 21, 2009

I give this a four because there is one thing I don't like about this gun, which is the hammer. When you pull the trigger, the hammer goes forward like usual, but it makes a weird rattle which is not very noticeable when fully cocked but is when you just pull the hammer back.

Everything else about this gun ROCKS!!

btw this goes for both this and the black one

    3 out of 5- Sig 228, August 26, 2009

I HAVE OWNED THIS GUN FOR A FEW YEARS NOW AND NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH IT. IT STILL SHOOTS HARD AND HAS BEEN VERY DURABLE FOR BEING ALL PLASTIC. THE HAMMER FALLS WHEN THE TRIGGER IS PULLED BUT IT'S A JOKE. OVERALL FOR THE PRICE IT'S A GOOD CHOICE.

    3 out of 5- The Sig 228, September 03, 2009

First impression, not that bad of a gun, cheap and reliable. I have owned this one for a few months now and i would use it as a backup on the field. The one thing i don't like about this gun is the fact that the range isn't that good. Also it is a bit light for my taste --- i prefer a gun with a bit more of a realistic heft to it.

4 out of 5- Good, but not great, October 26, 2009

    has good reliability,
    reloading magazines is awkward,
    has a comfortable grip.

though the gun may feel solid i have noticed a few pieces that may break off the gun. they wouldn't inhibit the gun at all but that's still not really something to pay 20 bucks for.

    go for the m9 heavyweight.
    first gun,
    never failed.
