Containing a pound and half of plastic explosives the M18A1 Claymore anti-personnel mine is a formidable weapon capable of devastating destruction. When detonated it would send 700 steel balls into its target at nearly 4,000 feet per second which is more than enough to ruin anybodies day.

The airsoft recreation of this feared weapon will add a whole new dimension to your next airsoft skirmish and have your opponents watching their step a little more closely. You can now set up elaborate ambushes and protect key strategic points against intruders. Do you ever get concerned that someone might be sneaking up that path behind your snipers nest for a surprise attack? Set up one of these and they’ll be the ones getting the surprise!

The Swiss Arms M18A1 Claymore mine is fully functional and can be detonated by tripwire or by the included wireless remote. The remote has a transmitting range of over 250 feet and can control up to four frequencies independently with one or more claymores being able to be programmed per frequency.

How does it work? This Claymore is actually spring powered so it can be used reliably all year round. When detonated a solenoid releases a latch allowing the front of the mine to snap open as two powerful spring loaded arms expand a pouch which catapults 200 rounds into the air at over 200 feet per second. The Claymore has a 60 degree radius kill zone with a maximum effective range of approximately 60 feet. Resetting it is as easy as setting a mouse trap and can be reloaded and repositioned in a matter of minutes.

  • Weighs 2.75 lbs.
  • Heavy duty ABS shell features authentic “front towards enemy” markings.
  • Folding metal stand allows for mine to be staked into soft ground or propped up on a hard surface.
  • Reliable spring loaded operation.
  • Detonate by tripwire or wireless remote. (we suggest using fishing line for the tripwire)
  • 200rd capacity fires in single detonation.
  • 60 degree radius kill zone with approximately 60 foot effective range.
  • Claymore electronic hardware powered by two 9V batteries.

5 out of 5- Overkill...But Smart, Cheap, and Accurate Overkill., May 24, 2009

Claymores work well when there's a lot of corners, and guys with AEGs never learn to turn those corners while watching their feet. Overall a good idea, and a nice size.

Seriously though, even if a guy trips it 5 times, he's gonna do it again because he can't see the thing... But the better part is that if the other team is constantly watching their feet, you walk over and gun them down and they don't even know what hit them. Having this makes everyone want to be on your team.

The mine itself is good for the price, you'd pay a lot more somewhere else. 200rds, 60 degree and 60ft EFFECTIVE range (I've seen them get 100 with .12s many times), and the materials are what you'd expect from something at this price.

My friend got one and we've been rocking everything. 3 on 8 if you can believe it... We were the 3, and we won with no outs on us... Just DON'T get this if you don't know how to set this thing up right, let alone put it in the right place on the field. Half of the reviews that you'll read online call this thing junk, just because they don't know how the remote works...

    So...

    It's stealthy
    Easy outs
Nice range and accuracy (It's actually 80ft 90% of the time with .12s)
    Good materials
    GREAT price

    But...

You'll need to learn how to use it effectively
200 bbs a shot (But what else is your bag of 50,000 .12s for?)

Veterans rejoice, fishing line is now what is feared.

    5 out of 5- Claymore, May 28, 2009

An airsoft claymore? My friend made me switch over from paintball to airsoft when he showed me this (And his sniper and AEG). The paintball stuff like it costs you over $500. At first i was skeptical, then he took 3 of us out with one detonation(in assault team of 4, and the way we were protected the 4th man). This catches anyone off guard that has not been owned by it. Only real problem is the remote only has a range of less than a football field. You gotta be kinda close to use it, so tripwires are better, also, then the enemies like:"how the hell didn't i see that?". Unrelated to airsoft, it's a funny prank. These things go for a lot more, but price is high if you're not comparing it to other claymores.

    Pros:
    It's a claymore!
    Remote
you can spike it in the ground
60 degree 60ft is a lot.(I've seen them go farther)
    Price(compared to other claymores)
    200rds
    tripwire feature
    Looks cool
    4 settings for remote
    Easy to use
    Almost unfair

    Cons:
Price(come on who has an extra $120 just lying there?)
a bit bulky to carry around, get a container for it.
Remote has less range than a football field.
Doesn't blend in a urban area.
Takes a while to get used to.
    Almost unfair

    Overall:
If you have the spare $$$ get it! Try and see if you can go to a radio specialist and have the range increased, it helps a lot. It's the funnest thing to see a spread of bbs fly at your target, from their perspective, out of nowhere. You will dominate once you figure out how to use it.

5 out of 5- Pretty cool lol, May 27, 2009

not much to say about how awesome this is. kinda pricey, but it works really well, really think plastic, no flexes or bends, and easy to hide. make sure you know how to set this up before taking it into battle, and buy a big bag of those cheap .12's for it as you will be going through a lot of bbs with this.

4 out of 5- RichardV is an IDIOT, August 31, 2009

RichardV is dumb!!!!!! You just used the exact same words as in Call of Duty 4 when CAPT. MACMILLIAN tells the player, "If you have any claymores now is the time to use them!" And it's also possible to have the p90, oh and it doesn't end there, because CAPT. MACMILLIAN is a SNIPER for god's sake!! if you have a war story I don't care, but if you have a VIDEOGAME story bug-off because no one cares.

Review: I guess it does exactly what it's supposed to. great for snipers. sorry for the short review, but I don't have much combat experience with it because my spotter uses it (claymore hog), and he almost never needs to use it because no one ever figures out where we are (overstatement), but the one time he did use it, the guy got absolutely TAKEN DOWN and cried, which happened to give away our position which is the reason for the 4. Because I was sniping all I had with me were .23's for my gas gun (not off shorty's sorry), and that gun got owned so badly that I may never use it again except for pranks. But 4/5 stars because if you're hit you will cry and you will give away a sniper's position.

    4 out of 5- Pretty good, July 18, 2009

As for this weapon's remote: it is crap. I never got it to work right and it pissed me off. The tripwire function, however, works great. If you put the wire (i recommend fishing line) across a path in high light it is much harder to see than in low light.

PS: RichardV (review title "COOL HEY COOL!") didn't even use his own scenario to describe his use of the mine. He stole it from the mission "All Ghillied Up" from "Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare"!!!

    3 out of 5- great mine,, June 30, 2009

it's a great mine, and with both tripwire and remote detonation, this thing is the next purchase after your gun. don't listen to richard --- sure sounds to me like he's lying. 5 of them? 600 bucks? and impossible to carry around all 5. also, lawrence macmillan? jeez how many of those exist in the world? and he planted all 5 when they were charging, and he was against 15? ...

so although richard is probably lying, it's still a great weapon, although I've found from about 5 feet, 200 fps is way overkill, and 200 bbs at over 200 fps makes any enemy cry, no matter what. i try to discourage people from buying things with such high fps. try using ones with 120 or so fps shooting 100 bbs or so. use .12 bbs if you do though, for least pain and most range.

5 out of 5- claymore kills for you!, August 03, 2009

first in response to richardv, has any one ever heard of CALL OF DUTY 4 and specifically the one shot one kill chapter those are all lines from COD4.

    anyways....
this mine is great. set it up inside a doorway or something and no body will see it coming - they just walk in and hear a small pop and wham three kills just like that. the trip wire is the more strategic option, so you won't have to watch it.
the remote detonator is great for ambushes as well as if you're defending a building or something. one thing people don't realize is the range these things have - i mean 60 feet - seriously even the real claymore doesn't have that.
overall very good weapon. very few airsoft weapons actually act like explosives. most are just like shot guns.

    10/10

    5 out of 5- Good mine, July 24, 2009

This claymore works extremely good when you are battling in an area with a lot of corners. Use fishing line and tie it off on another material, and it works great. Very good for pranks - my friends and i always play manhunt in my neighborhood. I get my claymore and set it off to the side near bushes or something. It is unstoppable - if they see it and you are watching them there is always the remote to set it off if they try to dodge the trip wire.

    4 out of 5- really cool, July 25, 2009

this mine is one of the coolest things to come out of airsoft that competes with other airsoft "explosives". it's incredibly effective, yet i wouldn't suggest it if you're on a budget. 120 smacaros is a lot to pay for a piece of equipment that you can't target shoot with. still, if you're rollin' in dough or you're sponsored or something like that, get this mine.

PS: you're better off using the trip wire instead of the remote because you won't have to watch your mine all during the match!

4 out of 5- Nothing else like it, August 30, 2009

... this is based off the real claymore mine as seen in metal gear. it's a direction mine that can take out anything except liquid snake and that metal gear dinosaur thing. on with the review.

the mine is plastic unlike the real one which is polymer. it uses a spring to send plastic death to your enemy. the front is labeled FRONT TOWARDS ENEMY so you know where to point it. this is helpful --- I'll explain later....

    PROS
    -SF
    -green
-holds a lot of ammo like a hicap but shoots all at once
-it tells you where to point it. one time i pointed it at myself and it didn't end well but it says where to point it, pay attention. i thought the instructions were on the back oh well.

    CONS
-poor, undescriptive instructions that will leave you in pain lol
