The handguards, pistol grip and stock are made out of high quality reinforced composite which both look and feel exceptionally sturdy. Its collapsible stock is very much like an M4’s and is adjustable to four different locking positions. The stock also features a soft rubber butt pad and a sealed internal compartment which can house 2 spare CR123A, AA or AAA batteries for your accessories.
The metal receiver of the SIG 556 is finished in non-reflective matte black and features laser etched trademarks in fine detail. Its front sight is hooded and features a short range flip up sight post. The rear flip up peep sight is adjustable for elevation and will fold down flush into the weaver mounting deck along the top of the receiver. Other features include ambidextrous selector switches and accessory rails on either side and underneath of the handguard.
Internally the SIG 556 has a metal Version 3 gearbox which has been outfitted with such upgrades as steel gears and metal bushings for increased durability. Even when powered by an 8.4v the rifle is very responsive with very little trigger delay so you can perform a perfect double tap with ease. Thanks to a stiff spring and high compression cylinder you will see a consistent muzzle velocity of 370 fps making the SIG 556 ready for your next skirmish right out of the box.
Overall the SIG 556 is a well put together rifle with excellent build quality and attention to detail. With the added bonus of being able to take most M4 series magazines the SIG 556 is a welcomed edition to the airsoft arsenal.
