The real steel P345 is a full size, semi automatic pistol chambered for the .45 cal ACP cartridge. Manufactured by Sturm, Ruger & Co. out of Newport, NH, this beefy yet streamlined pistol was designed primarily for the civilian market but its rugged design has made it increasingly popular among law enforcement officers.

This airsoft replica of the P345 is produced by Umarex USA and proudly bares fully licensed Ruger trademarks. The trademarks are very neatly stamped into its slide and grip while the blazing Ruger phoenix is prominently displayed in fine detail on the pistols checkered grips. Construction is mostly made up of ABS however with a metal trigger, magazine and many internal parts the pistol has a good heft and is very solid. Other features include a railed frame and a set of fiber optic sights that seriously get your attention when you level this pistol at a target.

Powered by a 12 gram CO2 cartridge which is housed in the grip, the P345 punches out a .2g BB at a sinister 350 fps and is considerably accurate out to 80 feet away. Its trigger pull is quite smooth which definitely aids in the pistols accuracy and really lets you pump out rounds in rapid secession. Gas efficiency is also very good on this model as it is able to cycle for over 150 shots on a single CO2 cartridge.

Overall the Ruger P345 is an amazing pistol for its modest price tag. It is a simple, easy to use pistol which is extremely reliable while delivering impressive performance and hours of fun.

5 out of 5- Great for the price

I bought this gun a couple of months ago, but waited to review it until I had an opportunity to test it in battle. In this review, I have separated the P345's performance into two sections: Target Practice and Battle Performance.

    Target Practice:

The first thing you notice while shooting targets is that this pistol has a relatively large shot groupings, with a diameter of about a foot. It might be due to the fact that I use .20 gram BBs in it, although it happened with the .25s as well, to a certain extent. This makes hitting soda cans very hard to do with any regularity. The trigger pulls very nicely, and I can go through the entire 15 round clip in a matter of seconds. Because of this, it doesn't have the best performance in target practice, and because you can only use gas canisters on one occasion, it makes this gun not the best for shooting cans.

    Battle Performance:

In battle, it's another thing altogether. The shot groupings may be relatively large, but shooting at human torsos, which tend to be larger than aluminum cans, make this problem relatively obsolete. The speed that you can fire this pistol is very impressive, and you can engage an AEG at medium to short distances very easily. The only problem is that you can go through the magazine very quickly during a firefight, so make sure to carry a speed loader. But aside from the ammunition limitations, it is a great combat weapon, as well as a good sidearm.

The P345's clip is similar to the gas "speed magazine", except that the P345ís has a base. I personally like this clip better, because it locks the spring while you load it up, so you don't have to hold it down with a fingernail.

As I've said, if you are looking for a good sidearm to back up your machinegun, this gun should fit the ticket perfectly. If you are looking for a target gun, I'd go with the WG Full Metal 1911 Compact CO2 Airsoft Pistol Silver. But for its price, the Ruger P345 can't be beaten.

In one of my battles, a younger player who I was letting use the gun accidentally pressed the magazine release button in the midst of the fight. Due to the magazine's size and color, I was unable to find it. This is only a problem for people with smaller hands, as the magazine release button is located where their fingers would go. But for most people, this isn't a problem.

5 out of 5- Great Pistol

I like field testing my guns before I bring them to the actual game, and this pistol passed all my tests with flying colors. This gun is accurate and lightwieght. Also the bright colored sights helps aiming alot. This is gun is a must buy.

    5 out of 5- 2nd favorite gun!

As the title to my review suggests, this is my 2nd favorite gun! My first favorite is the WG 1911 CO2 NBB pistol (Colt Defender replica). However that particular gun already has phenomenal ratings and reviews and my voice isn't really needed there. So I'm reviewing this gun!

This gun is NOT a full metal gun (one of my personal drawbacks) yet it is still very durable! A buddy of mine got mad at me and decided to chuck down the road we were playing near. The gun not only hit the asphalt, but also got run over by a Hummer! The gun does not even have a scratch on it!

I have rather large hands, so I'm pretty picky when it comes to grips. This gun has the BEST stock grip I have ever held!

So the reason it is not my #1 handgun is the fps doesn't hold a candle to the aforementioned WG 1911 pistol. If the fps were better, it would definitely be my favorite gun in my arsenal!

5 out of 5- Bang on a Budget

This might not the most impressive pistol you'll ever come across, but it's a solid workhorse on a budget.

    - Sights: The sights on this thing are absolutely incredibly clear. The fiber optic competition sights make for quick, easy focusing and easy aiming.

    - Power: The gun isn't the most imposing-looking gun on the market, but it really sizzles. You won't particularly want to be on the receiving end of this one.

    - Build quality: This gun is built like a tank. Throw it around, bang it'll keep on kicking. There aren't a lot of moving parts, so it's quite difficult to mess this gun up.

    - Price: For $40, you're getting a hard-hitting sidearm with

    - Aesthetic: The pistol is kind of glossy and generally isn't the best-looking of guns.

    - Sound: This is a minor annoyance, but WOW, this makes an ugly sound. Function over form, here, so I can't knock it too much, but there's just something nasty about the sound this pistol makes.

    The Verdict:
If you're looking for a solid target shooter or skirmisher on a tight budget, you can't go wrong with this piece. You won't break the bank, but will squeeze better than decent performance out. Your $40 will be well spent!
