Yes, ladies and gents. UTG has finally come out with a 1911 spring pistol and we are happy to say it was worth the wait.

With the exception of is outer barrel their entire pistol is metal giving it a hefty weight and pleasing metallic clank when cocked. After a bit of use we noticed the finish actually starts to weather just like the real pistol giving a convincing “old school” appearance. Its design is a near exact clone of the UHC 1911 and is compatible with the UHC 1911 magazines. This pistol actually comes with two magazines, each with a 13 round capacity and a 90 round reservoir. The reservoir is a cavity in the back of the magazine which acts has a reserve so when the 13 rounds are depleted you can pull down the spring follower and let 13 more BBs roll in. An added bonus we found was that the magazine is constructed with a metal shell which is something you seldom see on a spring pistol.

Overall the pistol functions very well with a smooth action and clean trigger break. It even its thumb and grip safeties are fully functional! On the firing line we found that the pistols performance is outstanding with plenty of power and range. This 1911 will send a .2g downrange at a solid 210 fps and is capable of engaging a man sized target out to 100 feet away. This makes it more than adequate for backyard shootouts or a winter skirmish sidearm.
