First released in 2005 the UTG M324 has set the benchmark for affordable, high performance sniper rifles to which practically every new sniper rifle has been compared to ever since. Over the years we have seen the release of new generations which featured improved specs and build quality as technology advanced. In November, 2009 UTG unveiled the 5th Generation M324 which sees several improvements to the rifles design once again making it the best sniper rifle in its class.

The M324 is extremely solid and beefy which gives it the feel of a military sniper rifle. Its dense synthetic stock has deeply grooved checkered grips while its butt pad is made of real rubber to insure this rifle won’t slip at the critical moment. Included are 3 spacers which increase the depth of the butt pad so you can tailor the length of the butt stock for the best fit. The construction of the rifle is mostly metal with the only exceptions being the stock and magazines. The barrel, receiver, rails, bolt and bolt handle are all made of metal giving the rifle good heft and balance.

For the 5th Generation M324 UTG has redesigned how the barrel is anchored to the receiver. Instead of a single screw which tended to loosen after a few thousand rounds it now has an imbedded cross bar which holds the barrel much more securely and makes a noticeable difference in the rifles accuracy. The bolt action has also been completely redesigned with a whole new bolt handle and bolt cap which now have locking pins similar to those found on an MK96. Even the safety switch is different with a new ergonomic design and more positive operation.

In addition to the new barrel design UTG has also tweaked the hop-up on this rifle making it more aggressive so it can now be more effective with specific heavyweight sniper BBs. Once we had this rifle dialed in with .4g BBs we were consistently pegging a pie plate from 160 feet away! When going up against a standard torso sized target the M324 could consistently connect with its mark from 230 feet. We did note that due to this enhanced hop-up you should not use anything lighter than a .36g BB in order to keep a level trajectory. We had the best results when using Mad Bull .4g BBs.

Included with the M324 are two 25 round magazines, speed loader, cleaning rod and a deluxe non slip rifle sling. UTG is also throwing in their folding weaver rail metal bi-pod!!

WARNING: The bolt handle on this rifles action has a transfer pin which actuates the handles locking mechanism. This pin is visible on the front side of the handles base when the bolt action is back. DO NOT depress the pin when the bolt action is back as this will release the handle and the small transfer pin can fall out.
