Carried by war heroes and gangsters alike, the Thompson has had a very long and colorful career which spanned over 60 years. The .45 cal submachine gun better known as the Tommy Gun first entered production in 1921 and quickly became the weapon of choice during the infamous gang wars of the prohibition period. It also saw heavy use during WWII and continued to see service well into the Vietnam War.

Cybergun’s Thompson M1A1 is the perfect weapon for an afternoon of backyard skirmishes or hours of full auto fun knocking soda cans off of your fence posts. This electric powered submachine gun is not a high tech AEG but it does have amazing performance for its modest price tag. It can reach targets out to 120 feet quite effectively and its power it actually about the same as a stock Marui. That’s pretty impressive for a gun under $100!

This model is officially licensed by Auto Ordnance and bears authentic trademarks on its receiver. Its body is constructed out of ABS plastic and is designed very closely to its higher priced AEG brothers. This makes it possible for it to accept most Thompson mid capacity magazines such as those made by King Arms. We have found that the high capacity Thomson AEG magazines will not fit/feed correctly without some modification. Other features include a fully adjustable rear peep sight, movable bolt and function selector and safety levers.

Comes with: 8.4v 450mah battery pack, 200mah trickle charger, sling, cleaning rod and loading tool. Battery charge time: 2.25 hours

    4 out of 5- A Real Bargin, February 16, 2011

The Crosman C-11, The KJW MK-1 and this version of the Thompson M1A1 are among One of the Best values in the Airsoft world. Lots of fun for the buck. At $90 bucks buy this gun! Some Pros & some Cons -

    Pros:
Price : $89 and change here at Shorty's can't be beat for the fun you're gonna have with this puppy. You can buy 2 of 'em!
Accurate: Really good semi -auto plinker and target gun. Good for 10M easy. Same as its more costly big brother
Weight: Nice and light. Good for the Pre-Teen set and Jr. Airsofters
Rate of fire: Pretty good 500 rpm. Great for backyard wars and informal skirmishing.
Looks, Build quality: Nice reproduction and authentic size (not weight). Nonfunctional sliding bolt on right side a nice touch and easy access spin up. Also good windage adjustable rear peep sight.
ABS plastic body and stock will take moderate abuse. All Plastic gears will last long enough until time to "Graduate" to more $$$ guns.

    Cons
Ammo capacity: You'll blow through the 40 round stick mag in seconds. It's a pest to load. Get the 450 round drum mag even though it doesn't look as cool.
Feels like a toy but remember it's a $90 gun. Highly recommend for first time AEG buyers. Have fun, wear eye protection!!

4 out of 5- Even though its plastic on some part bet mostly metal and light weight, June 23, 2011

This is a great gun even though the barrel is cheaply made. It's never literally broken on me. As long as you are gentle with it you will be okay. I have to say though, THE MAGAZINE SUCKS. You better be prepared to buy a new one. I bought a separately purchased 380round magazine also from ShortyUSA. In the magazine section for the thompsons, the 380 round winding mag is really what you should get if you are going to have a lot of wars. If you want to have more than that, you should purchase the drum mag which has 1100 rounds. I recommend this gun to all beginners who are getting their first automatic guns. For peoples 1st gun ever, I recommend a pistol or a spring gun of some sort.

4 out of 5- Gotta have for you WW2 fanatics., April 23, 2011

I bought this gun last year. It is amazing. I still use it until this day. It's highly accurate and great for beginners. If you love WW2 weaponry, then I highly recommend this guy. Make sure you buy a high cap mag though because this gun will rip through the small cap mag in seconds.

    4 out of 5- Good Gun, November 25, 2011

Pros: Great Price, Very Accurate with .20g bbs, ok fps, best gun available for backyard wars when you don't want to spend a lot of money

Cons: Low mag capacity(burns through mag in 5 seconds on full auto), mag broke after 200 rounds fired

    Accuracy: 9/10
    Realism: 6/10
    Value for Money: 10/10
I loved this gun once I bought two 110 round magazines.

    Overall: 9/10
Can't beat the price and is perfect for anyone looking for a quality airsoft gun.
