New for 2012, the MRF line from ECHO 1 look like something you would expect to see come from of a high end pro shop. Tricked out with a free floating MRF rail system and flip up battle sights these highly detailed M4 series rifles are officially licensed by Troy Industries with full trademarks. Each rifle is equipped with a six position collapsible crane stock which houses a nun-chuck type battery thus eliminating the need for an external battery box and maintaining the rifles low drag, high speed profile.

Like most of the other ECHO 1 rifles, the MRF series uses a lightweight yet durable polymer receiver although the rest of the rifle is constructed out of metal to include its MRF rail system. Its flip up battle sights are also some of the best we have seen on an ECHO 1 rifle to date and have a positive locking mechanism which keeps them from getting knocked down if they rub against underbrush or tree branches.

Internally the rifles have a brand new Version 2 gearbox which has an impressive list of features.

On the firing line these rifles ran exceptionally smoothly with solid performance. Since they are equipped with a pretty aggressive hop-up bucking we found that you really do not want to be using anything lighter than a .25g to maintain the optimum trajectory. With Elite Force .28g BBs though we found these rifles to be extremely effective at long range and more than capable of connecting with a torso sized target from 60 yards out.

The Troy MRF-S features a 4.5 inch MFR rail system and 5.5 inch barrel.
