No, these are not just worn by rebels waiving AKs and chanting allahu akbar. The Shemagh has been used by the military forces of several different countries for decades. In fact they are standard issue for many elite units currently deployed in Iraq, Afghanistan and other harsh environments. This highly useful lightweight cotton cloth can be worn in several different configurations to help combat the scorching sun, wind chill, pesky insects and dust.

Of course even if you do not happen to be playing in such inhospitable environments you will still enjoy the authentic look the Shemagh gives your airsoft loadout.

5 out of 5- Good deal

I bought this 3 days ago, and it came in yesterday b/c shorty has exceptional shipping. It's a good color for camo and it will blend in nicely to pretty much any environment perhaps except snow. By the way the correct phrase in Arabic is allah u akbar( god is great). The functionality of this cloth is wide in an extremely simple 4x4 woven cloth and it's not just limited to headwear( use your imagination) I bought this because before in my loadout I used an army of two mask and a balaclava under that. While the mesh on my mask meant no fog, I was kinda limited in sight and aiming was kind of an issue for me. I decided that I needed to move fast and play aggressively but still be bad@$$ looking and have better camo than my intimidating all black uniform before.(It was really easy to spot lol) plus I couldn't use any communication equipment because of the balaclava and the mask. This shemagh/kiffiyeh thingermajig allows me to wear a simple but small Bluetooth headset and wear the shemagh at the same time. I like that. But anyways... The shemagh can be worn in several different configurations. Go on YouTube and search how to tie one, see which one you prefer. I like the more localized style, which it's a bit trickier to tie but it looks better. I'd recommend this color because it blends well, although I would not be opposed to wearing an American flag shemagh(USA USA USA) =P . For 50 dollars I could not weave this so at shorty's ten bucks it's a steal. Buy one.

5 out of 5- Great Accessory

You'd be amazed how much this improves the "look" of your loadout, and is just a cool little piece of accessory to have on you, whether you use it as a half face mask, full face mask or just wear it around your neck like I do, it's good for what it's meant for. and offers protection. All in all, get it.

5 out of 5- Very nice

... I love it, it's an excellent accessory, and really enhances your loadout look. It also adds a great protective value no matter which way you choose to wear it. For me, I've never had much experience with head-wraps, balaclavas or scarves, so the hardest part of it was just learning how to tie it. But that's also the best part. It's large enough to be worn in pretty much any configuration you could possibly imagine, just whether or not you know how to tie it to work that way. The material is fairly breathable, and once you (finally) get the excess color out of it, the OD lightens up a bit, and the black is a bit more defined. I wear this with a MARPAT ACU, and it works perfectly. My only piece of advice is when you get it... DON'T WEAR IT!! And don't wash it with your other clothes. This is made in Pakistan, and like any other cloth made in Pakistan, the dye is very strong, and needs to be 'set', before it can be washed with your other clothing, or even worn for that matter.

Take an afternoon or evening to do this right. Fill a bucket up with VERY hot water, just plain water for now. Dip the shemagh in it and wring it out several times. Dump the bucket and refill it, making sure you wring the cloth out as best you can every time. Do this several times, until the water is a bit clearer. Then start using a mild detergent in the water (Google this, I've heard several different schools of thought on which is best) and repeat the same process several more times. By this time your water should be getting clearer and clearer. Now use just plain water again, and let the shemagh soak in it for as long as possible, just try to keep it in their as long as the water is hot. You may need to repeat this, and it's best to do so until your water looks pretty clear.

The initial soaking clears up the bulk of the dye, and the detergent cleans it while also taking out dye, and then the soaking finalizes it. Once you're done, let it dry and blammo! If you try to shortcut this, you'll probably end up with a green face. Unless you like that, in which case, go for it!

    5 out of 5- SHEMAGH!!!!!

These things are awesome, much easier than painting your face. They protect your face and although it still hurts, the pain is much less than it would be if you were hit on the bare skin. Plus they look amazing:)

5 out of 5- Way better than you may think!

I was expecting this little towel to come in the mail. What i received, was this amazing Shemagh. I checked on Youtube on how to make the ties for the Head wraps and the neck wraps, and i have tried them, and this Shemagh, makes it completely comfortable. This is one of my purchases, i'm definitely happy with.

5 out of 5- You'll Never Want To Take It Off

It's a great little 'scarf' for Airsoft. I like the look and the feel of my shemagh; when you put it on you suddenly feel like the ultimate Infidel! I find myself wearing it around the house just because it looks so darn good. And it feels very comfortable. The material is sturdy, but not so thick that it's stifling on those hotter days.

Just be sure to hand wash/soak it a few times first. Then on the last round of soaking add a couple of cups of vinegar to the water. It will stop the loss of color. Don't be alarmed though; even with all that soaking the shemagh does not fade! Like I said, this thing is awesome. Trust me, I'm professional.

    5 out of 5- Amazing

Not only is it very warm but light and easy to breathe through. And it protects your face. And it blends in very well. I would get it at this price.
