The FAMAS F1 was designed by Paul Tellie and was adopted by the French Army in 1978. This fully ambidextrous assault rifle was chambered in 5.56mm NATO and was capable of firing barrel mounting grenades. The FAMAS incorporated the bullpup design so its trigger group is located forward of its chamber. This allowed it to have a full length rifle barrel even though the FAMAS is shorter in length than an M4 carbine. While the F1 is no longer in production it still sees service in the French Army today.

This fully licensed airsoft replica is very detailed and has several noteworthy features such as an integrated bi-pod which can be quickly deployed or retracted up against the sides of the rifle. Under the handguard you’ll find a 3.5 inch, 6 slot weaver rail for mounting accessories such as a vertical foregrip, laser or flashlight. If you happen to be a left handed shooter you’ll be pleased to know that the FAMAS F1 magazine release and selector are designed for operation from both the left and right sides. Even the cheek rest can be unclipped and reversed to fit you correctly. Other features include functional grenade sight and adjustable rear iron sight with dual flip up apertures.

Externally this rifle is constructed mostly of ABS plastic however still feels quite solid and has a nice heft to it. Metal parts include the flash hider, barrel, bi-pod, rail, charging handle, trigger, trigger guard, magazine, magazine release and rear sling mounts. Inside of the FAMAS is a Version 1 metal gearbox with metal gears.

While the FAMAS comes set up to be used with an 8.4v mini type battery we found it can also be used with the INTELLECT 9.6v Nun-Chuck and Double Nun-Chuck batteries to increase its rate of fire. Also, by removing the foam padding in the handguards battery compartment and using a large male to small female wire adapter it is even possible to use an 8.4v 4200mah large type battery!

Even though it doesn’t have the greatest rate of fire the FAMAS does make up for it in accuracy. When used with the heavy .28g BB we were surprised at the consistency this rifle could deliver at long range. Another thing which may come as a surprise is although this rifle may look a little awkward it will probably be among the most comfortable rifles you’ve ever shouldered. The FAMAS comes up to the shouldered firing position like it was part of your arm which really helps your reaction time.

So, if you need a change from countless M4’s, MP5’s and AK’s that seem to grow on trees anymore then try spicing up your arsenal with the FAMAS F1.

Comes with: 8.4v 1100mah battery pack and 250mah trickle charger. Battery charge time: 4.5 hours

4 out of 5- Worth The Money

First off, this gun is a remarkable deal, because if you even want a FAMAS AEG then you must pay twice as much than this and it ends up being a TM. TM is fine, just doesn't have that extra power needed to make it a worthwhile gun for its price.

    POS-
-Long barrel grants you great accuracy
-Unique style gives you a form of respect to others
    -Has good fps
-Very sturdy feel compared to the TM version
    -Ambidextrous styling
-Very comfortable (don't get caught sleeping with your gun!)

    NEG-
    -Low RPM (not technically bad)
-Low metal content (it's 200 bucks!)
-Not the best for customizing unless you feel like paying extra 200 bucks for a new front end.

Overall it's a decent gun and will perform as well as you would expect it to for the price.(Very Decent)

Buy it now and see for yourself!

    4 out of 5- Great

Sweet gun! Very fun to shoot, and on the field you stand out more because you're the only one without a M4 or AK47! I've seen some seriously decked out FAMAS guns, all TM of course, but now you can get this FAMAS at a great price. get it!

P.S.- Famas usually have the rep to be an insane ROF due to the design of the gearbox, but this one is relatively slow. dunno what happened there.

2 out of 5- what happened?

over all, this is a great gun for anybody who likes to be different out there, not just come out w/ a m4 or an ak. it could have better stuff put in.

    pros:
-sickass gun. (it took a while for me 2 choose between the FAMAS or the E90)
    -customizable
    -ambidextrous

    cons
-as it is a rarer gun, spare parts and mags and crap are hard to find, and expensive.
-it has a small amount of metal in it, making it less reliable, and well breaking.(see con above)
    - its 200$ just 70$ away from the ... mk2 SAW, and let's agree, the SAW is much cooler
    - it jams easily(experience)
-slow rate of fire(ROF) compared to other FAMASes

if you want to buy this gun, think again. if you have the money to spare, time to spare for fixing and finding spare parts(see first con again), and frustrations in the battle field to spare, buy it. unfortunately, i'm not too happy with my buy. i should have stuck with the E90.

    hope this helped

( i gave it a two because its making me save 4 another half of a year for the MK2 saw)

4 out of 5- check it

this gun was alright. i thought it was kinda slow. great power tho. i loved it. dominated my friend who owns one of the newer aegs echo. over all it's a good gun and can match up well to those on the battlefield. so if you want a versatile gun then you should get this!!

4 out of 5- Most kick ass Rifle i own

ok so here is the Skinny on the Famas. it's one of the heavier rifles you'll get. it has a realistic weight to it. the FPS isn't what they say, least not for my model, in the info here. it isn't 360 .. ok? we clear? wanna know what it really is? ..you sure? ...really? ok it's 445 ..yes read that again 445. at 445 fps and the barrel length it has, i WAS gonna get a sniper.. then i found out.. i can snipe with this puppy... which works great because I'm designated marksmen in my team. this gun feels great, solid and sturdy. the iron sights are better than that of ..say an M 4. one downside to this gun is its lack of mod-ability. it has one small rail under it. 3 inches round about? . anyway no means to mount say a scope on it. but there's a nice laser light combo on here that makes good use of the railing. they say that it's a slower firing gun, but in a side by side compare of this vs my SMG, AK 74 SU, and 2 M-4s, it performed past all of them in one way or another. so what if it shoots a little slower, which i didn't see except maybe my SMG ..oh well, if my assault rifle can't shoot faster than a bullet hose, but out powers it to the point it makes it look like a joke, I'm not gonna whine >>

any way it's a great buy, works great, holds up well. (no strap point on it though, you'll have to McGyver one on the barrel like i did) and i can pick off my friends with the more expensive guns easily before they get in range to fight me well (skill obviously needed for that too, don't think this gun will make you the Master Chief)

Anyway, 4 out of 5. not a 5 out 5 'cause of lack of tactical rails.

4 out of 5- Great Gun

My friend bought the FAMAS almost 2-3 years ago and let me tell you, this is one long lasting kick ass gun! although the spring has worn down over the years, this gun fires like it's brand new. the rate of fire is excellent and since the spring requires little effort to pull back, the battery will last you a lifetime. i remember i charged up my friend's 8.4 i think, it was around 3200 mah, but he played around 4 eight hour games before we had to recharge the thing. anyways, if you are looking for something that can pull you through the years, this is one of my top picks.

    2 out of 5- jeez...

    pros:
you're the only field player in the arena that doesn't have an m5 or ak-47
    nice fps
    OK accuracy
    effective range is pretty nice
gives you respect, but people might not know that the gun isn't very good.
you can streak fire with it, and the low rpm means the clip won't empty fast.

    cons:
some people might laugh at the gun
    rpm is horrible
looks like an 80 dollar gun (i just don't like the look)
effective range, on the other side, could be beasted by the echo 1 dsr, or better yet the gen 3.
    overpriced
    _____________
i don't like it, i wouldn't recommend buying unless you just like to collect abstract guns.
