Even though the F2000 looks like a rifle that would only be seen in a video game, it is in fact a real assault rifle designed by FN Herstal. This Belgian company conceived the futuristic looking rifle around the turn of the Millennium and it carries many of the distinguishing features found on their P90. Chambered for the 5.56x45mm NATO round, the F2000 was designed as a modular assault rifle for the modern day solider and with a price tag of over $2,000 USD is among the most prestigious assault rifles out there.

This airsoft model is manufactured by G&G Armaments with full FN Herstal licensing through Cybergun. It features an ergonomic nylon fiber stock with a full metal barrel and a 10 inch accessory rail. The rifle is fully ambidextrous with a centrally located magazine release and rotary fire selector so the rifle can be operated just as easily by either a left or right handed shooter. The F2000 is a bull pup design with the chamber and magazine located behind the trigger group which allows for a 430mm inner barrel even though the whole rifle measures only 28 inches long. Despite its futuristic look, you do not have to worry about proprietary magazines since the F2000 is compatible with those used by M4/M16 series AEGs. For those who like to tweak their rifles, you will be happy to know that the F2000 is just as easy to break down as a P90. Pushing the captured locking bolt through the body releases the barrel group which can then be slid right off of the rifle. If you want to take the gearbox out, it is a simple matter of taking out two screws and pushing it out of the buttstock.

G&G fitted the F2000 with a modified version 6 gearbox which is among the strongest AEG gearboxs out there as well as being very easy to service. The gearbox is fitted with such goodies as 8mm bearing bushings, steel gears and a bearing spring guide. However, the spring guide has a very unique design in that it can be adjusted inside of the gearbox shell to change how much the spring compresses. This makes it possible to increase the rifles muzzle velocity by over 10% from one end of the adjustment range to the other. This design also makes it possible to remove the spring guide from the rear of the gearbox so you can switch out springs without needing to disassemble the gearbox.

On the firing line the F2000 proved it is a highly accurate rifle capable of very tight groupings even during fully automatic fire. And, with the spring guide adjusted for maximum compression the rifle packed quite a punch with 410 fps at the muzzle. Another cool feature of this rifle is its two stage trigger. Just like a P90, the rotary selector switch has the standard Safe, Semi and Full settings. In full auto, if you were to pull the trigger all of the way through the rifle will continue to fire until you release the trigger. However, if you only squeeze the trigger back half way, the rifle will fire one shot in semi auto.

Being futuristic and high tech in both looks and design, the F2000 is in a class of its own. With its compact design, adjustable muzzle velocity and compatibility the M4/M16 magazines makes this rifle extremely versatile in many areas.

Please note: The F2000 is compatible with high capacity M4/M16 series AEG magazines although it is not compatible with most mid capacity or standard magazines without the magazines being modified first. The housing for the BB detent on most mid capacity magazines is longer than on high capacity magazines which bottoms out before the magazine is fully inserted. However, we did find that VFC and Real Sword mid capacity magazines have a shorter housing and work perfectly in the F2000.

Picture #6 shows optional BRAVO PRD sight, JBU 3.4 inch Kurz Mock Suppressor and Real Sword 130rd Mid Capacity Magazine. (items not included with rifle)

Since it is not covered very well in the owners manual, please take a minute and read how to adjust the velocity on the F2000.

5 out of 5- For All You COD Fanatics...

This is a beautiful gun. NO wobble, no falling apart, just absolutely perfect. It may seem really expensive, but it is well worth it. This is a gun that never jams, or falls apart (unless you beat the crap out of it)

Adjustable FPS: It is kinda difficult access, and it takes a while. Out of the box, my gun shot around 370-375 FPS. (.2 g BBs ANS 9.6 volt mini type) and that was good enough for my taste.

Weight: This thing is pretty much the same weight as most medium sized snipers. Those of you who have the UTG MK96 sniper, take off the scope and bi-pod. That's how much this gun weighs. It is much easier to carry around because it's smaller however.

Power: All I can say is, IT HURTS LIKE A MOTHER

Range: 180- 195 feet is what I measured. The difference in range won't affect your long range snipes though.

ROF: 900 RPM: That is not how many pellets shoot out a minute. That's how many times the gear box rotates per minute. The gravity of the bb's isn't great enough for 800-900 bb's come out every minute. This is the same for every automatic gun.

To sum things up: This is not a gun for amateurs. This is a high end rifle for serious airsoft players. So don't be a nimby, if you have the money, buy this gun because it will last for years.

    5 out of 5- Awesome...ness!

This gun rocks! If your game is CQB or outdoor skirmish, with just a twist of a screwdriver you can set your FPS to that game. And no tools needed to field strip this gun. Get one and believe. The only con is the charging handle. It gets stuck once in a while, but no big deal because it doesn't do anything except for aesthetic purposes.
