The Version 4.0 has been updated with a stronger spring which has increased both muzzle velocity and range!

  • Package deal! You get 1 GUN and 2 STOCKS!
  • Introducing one of the first true AEGs to come out of China. Now, I know what you are thinking. First rule in airsoft: If it is made it China it has to stink. Well, you had better call the airsoft police because UTG is breaking the rules again. You might want to pay attention because this gun is about to make history.
  • The UTG M5 is almost an exact copy of a Tokyo Mauri except for being about $100 cheaper. If you put the two side by side you would have to look closely to be able to tell them apart. The UTG weighs .25 lbs less than the Marui only because UTG chose to make the muzzle and front sight out of plastic instead of metal for cost reasons. Aside from that the two guns are identical in build.
  • What makes it a true AEG? It features a full metal Version 2 gearbox with metal gears which can be upgrade just like the Tokyo Marui M5. The UTG M5 will also accept other M5 AEG magazines and has worked with every MP5 AEG magazine we have tested in it. From a STAR 30 rd to a MOS MAG 3,000 rd drum they have all performed perfectly in the UTG.
  • The UTG M5 comes with both the A5 three position collapsible stock and A4 full stock which can be changed easily. The collapsible stock has metal bars and is surprisingly more stable than the Mauri. Even though it comes with a full stock the battery is always stored in the foregrip of the gun. There are no accommodations for a battery to be installed in the stock however with little modification this can be done.
  • Also features a fully adjustable rotary rear sight and moving cocking bolt. Please note the cocking bolt is just for looks and is not a mechanical part of the gun. Do not let the bolt slap forward or it will eventually break off same as the Tokyo Mauri. I know it is fun to slap the bolt however the warranty will not cover it if the bolt breaks.
  • Aside from its obvious good looks the UTG also comes with a mountain of accessories.

COMES WITH: 8.4v 1100mah battery pack, trickle charger, one 150 rd high capacity magazines, one 500 round super high capacity magazine, UTG tactical 3 point sling and metal dual weaver rail claw mount for mounting accessories as seen in picture #6 (Shown with but not included, 40mm red dot and swat flashlight).

  • WARNING: Battery charge time is 4 hours. Do not overcharge your battery or you will damage it.

This gun MUST use Ultra Grade .2g or .25g BBs such as our KSC BBs recommended below. This gun uses a tighter barrel and components than other lower cost electric guns. Lower grade BBs will not work correctly and will jam in this gun even if they are .2g. This can cause severe damage to your gun and will not be covered under warranty.

5 out of 5- compairing this gun to a Tokyo Marui

Opened the box to the gun today and fired a few shots from it. First impression was this thing is louder then my TM mp5. After 100 rounds are so it quieted down to the same level as the TM. (This gun is an electric gun and should be broken is properly. shooting on full auto for long periods of time is not a good idea right out of the box. give the motor, gears and seat a little time to get to know each other.) Lube it and shoot on single or short bursts for the first few 100 rounds.
I will point out some things that have not been covered in other comments i have read on the web. First the magazine works great. The winding wheel is quiet and with a full wind all but 15 bb's fired (last ones in the magazine). Only had 2 misfeeds or blanks. This was near the end. The full auto selector does not click when rotated up but does at single and safe. The retractable stock is stiffer but when all the way out it flexes where it attaches to the frame. The TM does not do this but the railís flex. The hop up leaver is much easer to move than the TM and when you reattach the front grip it tends to move. No big deal and can probably be fixed if it botherís you.
My front handgrip pin holding thing that has the wire to hold it in was not cast right and the wire part fell out. This is also no big deal because it holds fine without the wire part.
FPS are about the same if not a little slower than the TM BUT i lubed the gun with silicon and then found out i had les then 75 bb's to fire. My guess is that after proper brake in and clearing of oil the performance will pick up.
I have placed an order for 2 more of these for my boys I purchased this one to evaluate. I would rather waist 100 instead of 200. This will give me a total of 3 UTG's and 1 TM. You might wonder why i would get one of these for myself when i already have a TM. I purchased the TM a month ago and have loved it but i need mag's scope mount and an extra battery and that would cost more than the purchases price of this gun. I will most likely sell the TM and purchase a 4th UTG in a month or so if the UTG's hold up and have an extra for friends or if one breaks. Itís a money thing i can easily purchases 2 UTG's for what i can get for the TM.

3 out of 5- You get what you pay for

if you are considering this gun be careful, you may be disapointed. Although just its visual appearance may lead you to believe its just like a tokyo mauri or classic army, it is not.

    cons:

my biggest complaint is with the "hop up" system. If it can be called that. Sure you can adjust it, but the designers didn't put enough tention on the system so after you set it and fire a few shots the hop up quickly turns itself off. I had to rig something to keep it from shifting after set.

it is more fragile then a higher priced mp5 first of all. (the foregrip will pull off, dumping the battery out if you put enough pressure on it for one thing. It would take a decent amount of force but if you are in the middle of a game you may forget how careful you have to be)

Within about the first 100 shots the gearbox jamed on me, requiring a dismantling of the gun, although its working fine for now i fear the gearbox itself is prone to problems.

Almost every time you place a mag in, it will spread apart the plactic mag reciever and that causes the mag to not sit tightly. i had to add a screw mount to it to keep it tight.

    Pros:

It comes with all your basic accessories (batt, charger, sling, 2 high cap mags, a dual rail metal scope mount (which has more metal itself then the entire gun), switchable stocks, and shortyusa added in a star mag for free, so you can buy just this and be goog to go (well, add a red dot sight) but i would have prefered if the company put more into production and less into adding all the extras, but they are useful.

Price. The only reason to buy this gun. I own a tm g36c and an tm mp5k and our group wound up with an uneven number of people with aeg's making some games a little unfair. I got this with the intention of letting someone borrow it. Since you can buy two of these for the price of one high priced mp5s (not encluding the battery, charger and accessories needed as well) if you are looking for a loaner aeg, this is probably the way to go.

Shooting: once you find a way to fix the hopup, its shooting is ok. you can reliably hit a person at about 100-150 feet (stick with .2 g bbs) it is less auccurate than other high priced aegs though but not drastically.

All in all, you get what you pay for. if you are looking for your first aeg, my honest opinion is if you can save up for a high priced one, do it. They will last longer and be more reliable. If you are the only one with an aeg and are trying to get more people into airsoft, getting one to loan out can be a cheaper way to even a game up 9since convincing you friend to spend 350$ on a sport he never played can be tough) On a final note, although technically you could upgrade this gun, i would question that based on the lower quality of the gun. If upgrades are in your future, buy a high Quality Aeg. any other questions, e-mail me at cookieman459@hotmail.com

5 out of 5- Totally Awesome

UTG is going to make a lot of money off of this gun. First off, for all of you LPEG(Low Power Electric Gun) Users, this is a break for you. I have 10 friends that live very close to me, all 9 of them had LPEG's that fire around 135 fps to around 250 fps. We all made a promise that the guns had to be below 150 dollars. I am the only one that still hasn't gotten one because i'm waiting for my birthday which is in 3 months! This gun will offer me so much more than those cheap LPEG's. First off this gun COMES with the battery and trickle charger. AND 2 hi-caps. What more could you ask from Shorty? This gun will be upgradable. But certainly not as upgradable as a ICS MP5 or TM MP5 due to its non all metal body. I bet you would be able to put in a M100 Spring or around there though. I'm not sure but by the picture it looks like it comes with a mag clamp? I'm not sure but you can always buy one for 10 bucks. This gun is going to SKY ROCKET in the airsoft market. LOTS of people I know will buy this gun within a week of its appearance. The only thing I'm worried about is that Shorty keeps this instock. I hope they keep re-supplying it every month or so. Although I'm not sure of the exact realease date it should be sometime this August.

3 out of 5- looks like a marui, acts like a cybergun

well this isn't a perfect copy of a marui, first of all, it's less reliable than the marui, less accurate, made of cheaper materials, and overall more "neonfire-ish"

    overall:

    pros-
    upgradable internally
    uses standard mp5 aeg magazines
    comes with accessories

    cons-
    semi- accurate
    made of cheaper materials
    not much metal

this gun really tries to be a marui, but just isn't.
it can take a 315 or 350fps upgrade well, but i dont think it can be upgraded above 400fps because the body will probably warp and break. (mine's currently at 350 w/ steel gears and a low tolerance barrel.
i expect this gun to last another 2 years tops before it has a major problem that i will have to pay more than it's worth to fix. (while a marui would easily go around 5)

in addition, this new series of utg aegs will not cause the price of tokyo marui aegs to drop, because:
    A. marui has a patent on it's gearbox design in japan
    B. marui concentrates it's sales on japan, and do not care so much about the western market

but the price of classic army/ ICS/ AE aegs may go down slightly (or stand still(they've been consistently increasing)) because these threat their market in the US, newcomers may use these to their little hearts delight , but in the end, serious players will not use these entry level knockoffs, they'll go for the high quality CA, TM, AE, GG, ICS, and/ or AE aegs.

so if you want to have something you can actually call an AEG, then get this, but if you're serious, then save up and get a real marui or classic army.

    whatever.

This by far has been a great purchase from UTG, first i was leary of the shotgun and i bought it and love it, performs great and hurt like no other lol. So i took the leap and bought the UTG MP5 and used it in a AEG game my team had last sunday. I could not have asked for more, the gun its self was amazing!!! i have a CA M4A1 and this Mp5 now. I shot my freind with it and he wasnt too happy lol so atleast i know it hurts and ya can feel it too! by far im going to upgrade this gun with a new spring and some external fun toys :D Well i hope this helps for someone out there that has the same idea i had. Its a good deal by far and they are releasing a sniper rifle and so ive heard some handguns here in the near future.

    5 out of 5- UTG MP5

people say its not as good quality or not as good performance as TM, CA, etc. duh, its only $100 compared to their $300, and for $100 it pretty close, i could see this gun selling for $200, this gun will dominate any springer even when your outnumbered, it can also beet $300 aegs if your a vet, UTG is the same if not better then TM, but it has yet to beet CA.

5 out of 5- One of the best

My best friend recently got one of these mp5s, we thought it was goint to be a nice prop for a film, boy, were we wrong. higher ROF than my upgraded TM p90, capable of PREFORATING a soda can. with 2 midcap mags AND the 30 round star mag, you have the ability to lay waste like the best of em, although it's not needed, the hop-up is astounding! We were firing some waterlogged .2s and were having a flatter trajectory than anything else we have on hand, even my beloved super 9 was being outshot. Only issues with this aeg is the 2 little peices that keep the 3 point stock from pulling right out, they can be easily lost if you decide to field convert it to a fullstock. Also the little screw that holds the rear stock on is somewhat easy to lose. The sling is a bit cheap, and the scope mount can be a bit hard to attach as well

All and all, this "Cheapie Chinese peashooter" is Doom to your enemies

    5 out of 5- Excellent

This gun is great for anyone who's had some nice springers or low power AEG's, ands ready to move on but dosn't want to spend 300 dollars on a nice but costy AEG. This gun is great. The overall body of the gun has a nice solid feel to it. The Accuracy is great as well as the fps. The Hop-up control is easy to use. All of the accessories are nice, especially coming with two stocks. From 10 feet away this gun was going through cardboard. I put a crack in a metal can. It's the king of CBQ for your backyard airsoft wars. The two 150 round magazines last a while if your mostly using semi auto. Again I reccomend this gun for people that want a reliable and relitively affordable gun.

    5 out of 5- Sweet

even though this gun was made in china, it is a beast. my friends and i have been playing with the spring pistols and rifles that go up to about 300 fps. now that i am using this gun, i can demolish my friends. this gun is very fast and accuarate. because of it is a heavyweight gun, it also seems very reliable and hard to break. this is a great price for the gun too! especially with all the extra stuff included in the deal. i would recommend getting a discharger though if you want your battery to last longer. not only is it a good working gun but it also looks hella sick. this is the gun to buy if you want an electric gun that is not one of the LPEGs and not a gun that costs 400$.

    5 out of 5- ...Amazing.

Wow, i seriously think TM is going to have some competition with this, i really do. the gun looks pretty durable, and it comes with two high caps and a scope mount, how do u not love that? the fact that the gearbox can be upgraded adds a whole new level to this, and especially the fact that its compatible with all TM accesories and pretty much every mp5 mag out there. when i get the money, this baby is MINE. 5 outta 5.
