Even though the F2000 looks like a rifle that would only be seen in a video game, it is in fact a real assault rifle designed by FN Herstal. This Belgian company conceived the futuristic looking rifle around the turn of the Millennium and it carries many of the distinguishing features found on their P90. Chambered for the 5.56x45mm NATO round, the F2000 was designed as a modular assault rifle for the modern day solider and with a price tag of over $2,000 USD is among the most prestigious assault rifles out there.

This airsoft model is manufactured by G&G Armaments with full FN Herstal licensing through Cybergun. It features an ergonomic nylon fiber stock with a full metal barrel and a 10 inch accessory rail. The rifle is fully ambidextrous with a centrally located magazine release and rotary fire selector so the rifle can be operated just as easily by either a left or right handed shooter. The F2000 is a bull pup design with the chamber and magazine located behind the trigger group which allows for a 430mm inner barrel even though the whole rifle measures only 28 inches long. Despite its futuristic look, you do not have to worry about proprietary magazines since the F2000 is compatible with those used by M4/M16 series AEGs. For those who like to tweak their rifles, you will be happy to know that the F2000 is just as easy to break down as a P90. Pushing the captured locking bolt through the body releases the barrel group which can then be slid right off of the rifle. If you want to take the gearbox out, it is a simple matter of taking out two screws and pushing it out of the buttstock.

G&G fitted the F2000 with a modified version 6 gearbox which is among the strongest AEG gearboxs out there as well as being very easy to service. The gearbox is fitted with such goodies as 8mm bearing bushings, steel gears and a bearing spring guide. However, the spring guide has a very unique design in that it can be adjusted inside of the gearbox shell to change how much the spring compresses. This makes it possible to increase the rifles muzzle velocity by over 10% from one end of the adjustment range to the other. This design also makes it possible to remove the spring guide from the rear of the gearbox so you can switch out springs without needing to disassemble the gearbox.

On the firing line the F2000 proved it is a highly accurate rifle capable of very tight groupings even during fully automatic fire. And, with the spring guide adjusted for maximum compression the rifle packed quite a punch with 410 fps at the muzzle. Another cool feature of this rifle is its two stage trigger. Just like a P90, the rotary selector switch has the standard Safe, Semi and Full settings. In full auto, if you were to pull the trigger all of the way through the rifle will continue to fire until you release the trigger. However, if you only squeeze the trigger back half way, the rifle will fire one shot in semi auto.

Being futuristic and high tech in both looks and design, the F2000 is in a class of its own. With its compact design, adjustable muzzle velocity and compatibility the M4/M16 magazines makes this rifle extremely versatile in many areas.

Please note: The F2000 is compatible with high capacity M4/M16 series AEG magazines although it is not compatible with most mid capacity or standard magazines without the magazines being modified first. The housing for the BB detent on most mid capacity magazines is longer than on high capacity magazines which bottoms out before the magazine is fully inserted. However, we did find that VFC and Real Sword mid capacity magazines have a shorter housing and work perfectly in the F2000.

Picture #6 shows optional UTG Tactedge sight, Mad Bull Blackside Mock Suppressor and ECHO 1 190rd VN High Capacity Magazine. (items not included with rifle)

Since it is not covered very well in the owners manual, please take a minute and read how to adjust the velocity on the F2000.

5 out of 5- The Gun Stallone would be proud of

I don't think there's much to say about this gun that is not already said in the description except that if chuck norris was a gun he would be this one.

    Pros:

FPS (stings for awhile at 150 feet)

Accuracy ( it should be marked as a sniper)

    Awesomeness (...)

Reality (don't hold around police - you probably will be shot... by a real gun)

    Cons:

Shorty should charge more for this gun it is so awesome.

I bought this a couple weeks ago and i have had 2 battles. So far my kill to death ratio is 30:1 (the one time is when the gun ran out of charge and i went around throwing bbs at people).

5 out of 5- Compact Sniper Rifle

There is nothing bad I can say about this gun. It's just Awesome. I put a 6.03x509mm Madbull inner barrel and covered the end with a suppressor and BAM got more range and Feet Per Second. And because it is almost whisper quiet I call it my C.S.R.(Compact Sniper Rifle)with a UTG 4x32 scope, plus got a barrel attached laser for C.Q.C./C.Q.B. too.

    5 out of 5- Amayzing!!

Yes i can spell lol. But anyway, this gun is amazing. A buddy of mine has it, and we traded guns for a round or two. I have a cyber gun aks74u. Great gun don't get me wrong, but i would take this gun over anything. Amazing features. I mean come on.... adjustable fps? that could come in handy anywhere. Like if a few guys have low powered guns and you need to stoop down a bit. The m4/m16 mags sure do come in handy because they are reliably inexpensive. If you have the $380 get it. if you lowered the price a bit that would be most satisfying.

3 out of 5- Really impressive, But buyer beware.

To start, the gun fired extremely well with a 8.4v mini battery right out of the box. Great feel, great power, and great accuracy. G&G has always made quality products, and maybe I'm just unlucky, but before I even got to use it on the field, I started having problems. First off, almost all of the reviews I've seen so far, say that the included magazine is high quality. However, it seems to be cheap plastic internals in a high end metal shell. The internals of the magazine slid clean out on their own upon ejecting the clip - spilling around 400 BB's in the grass. I fixed the problem by using superglue to seal them together again. It was an easy fix, but I shouldn't have had to take my time to fix a problem that wasn't my fault to begin with.

The second day I had it, after releasing the upper receiver (following the cleaning instructions to the letter) the spring in the mag-well that puts pressure on the catch (holds the clip in place) fell out ON IT'S OWN. I was unable to find a way to put it back in by myself without destroying the gun. So now I'm stuck with a really expensive prop.

I'm probably just going to go for a refund and then stick to lower grade airsoft. Keep in mind this happened only 2 days after my initial unboxing. G&G did a great job with the performance of this gun but must not have had upkeep or maintenance in mind.
