When Sigarms first decided to enter the highly competitive 1911 market they went straight to former IPSC World Champion and 1911 builder Matt McClearn and immediately enlisted him to spearhead the GSR development team. The GSR features bold 1911 styling yet retains underlining hits of its Sig Sauer heritage. It is no small wonder that the GSR won the coveted Handgun of the Year Award by the Shooting Industry Academy of Excellence in 2004.

This airsoft model of the GSR is officially licensed by Sigarms and features authentic markings as well as sequential serial numbers. The lower frame is constructed from ABS however the slide, safety, grips and magazine are metal giving the pistol a realistic, rock solid feel. Its frame features an integrated accessories rail making it possible to easily attach a flashlight or laser sight. Its grips are unique because they are made out of metal with aggressive texturing. The metal grips actually help balance the pistol and are surprisingly comfortable.

The GSR uses an efficient non blow back system making it possible to get over 150 shots from of a single 12 gram CO2 cartridge. Taking full advantage of the high pressure CO2 this pistol is capable of hurtling a .2g BB down range at a sizzling 350 fps to an effective range of 120 feet. Even though the GSR is not equipped with a hop-up system its sheer power enables it to shoot on a near perfect trajectory whether you are using a traditional .2g BB or a heavyweight .28g.

WARNING: Due to inconsistent sizing in other co2 cartridges we strongly advise the use of the co2 cartridges listed below in the recommended items. Problems experienced with other cartridges can or may include failure to fully seat, puncture and or leaking from the mag. Any problems associated with the use of said co2 are not the fault of Shorty USA.

5 out of 5- Sig GSR

    First impression:

I pulled it out of the box, hefted the gun, and was pleasantly surprised by its weight and feel, but there were several things that grabbed my attention that i didn't like. The first being that the safety on the back of the gun is fake and jabs into the back of your hand. The second being that the slide of the gun while it doesn't move is a bit flimsy and moves up and down by 2 or 3 millimeters. The third was that when i went to put it into my Blackhawk Serpa holster, it doesn't fit because of the rails on the gun.

    Shooting the gun:

I screwed the CO2 into the mag and took it outside, it has very nice power, about 340, and very good range. my other CO2 pistols vary greatly in their accuracy but this one is very consistent. the mag capacity isn't bad but it is a little small. Also the sights on the gun line up very nicely and quickly when you bring it up into position to fire.

    After shooting the gun:

After i was done i proceeded to unscrew the CO2 but there was quite a bit left, and with the design of the mag it all releases instantly which super cools the mag and co2 canister while it's still in your hand so BE VERY CAREFULL UNSCREWING THE CO2, i froze my hand and it was numb for hours, i think i got a little bit of frostbite.

    Final Impression:

Over all i think it's a very nice gun though I'm yet to use it in a battle, and I'm not sure about the firing mechanism and how it's going to hold up to repeated firing, so hopefully I'll post another review later on with more on that.

So to summarize, nice gun, if you like tricked out 1911s then you'll like this but beware it won't fit in the Blackhawk Serpa holsters.

5 for 5, hope this helps.

    5 out of 5- pistols

pistols in general, you have to be careful with. i always recommend people to ONLY buy airsoft guns online, if only for the reviews. that fact is even more important with pistols. there are many pistols out there that break easily, or don't work at all, but THIS IS NOT ONE OF THEM

on average, it is always best to avoid pistols that are very inexpensive, no matter how tempting, because often times they are cheaply made. if you buy a cheaply made pistol, IT WILL BREAK. you will actually save money if you buy a good gas gun from the start.

    now, onto the gun

This gun will inflict fear. that remains a fact just look at it -
    it wont break
    it is accurate
    and it hurts

    ....

on the other hand it is not about to break, either

in my opinion, this gun hits the "sweetspot" between too expensive and too cheap

    5 out of 5- Impressive

Just received my gun today and went through two co2 cartridges and about 12-14 clips. Even with a low co2 cartridge, this pistol puts out an impressive performance. I tested mine out with .20 bb's at 369 FPS on a fresh cartridge. 328 FPS on a weak cartridge but still very accurate.

5 out of 5- Great gun

This gun is great for the price. It's a nice back up when you can't reload your main gun fast enough.

4 out of 5- Pretty Good....

This is a good pistol for people who are inexperienced with CO2 guns. It is relatively easy to figure everything out, and i prefer CO2 guns since the CO2 is cheap.

The gun has amazing power, but its accuracy is average.

5 out of 5- KWC Sig Sauer GSR

    The pistol itself:

The first thing I noticed when I pulled this out of the box is the nice weight it had, which the packaging lists as 2.2 pounds. It has a nice feel in the palm of your hand, and the proportions fit well. The textured plating on the side of the handle ensure that the pistol does not slip around when you hold it. The safety mechanism is sub-optimal, as all it does is prevent the CO2 from being released, but it will still put a pellet in the barrel, and next time you fire, it will shoot two out, unless you tip the gun down, in which case the pellet will simply fall out. The pistol does come with a small weaver rail on the underside, and by my measurements, it is around 1.75 inches long. The top metal slide tends to wiggle a bit, but it does not come off easily, so don't worry about that. The full length of the weapon is listed as 8.62 inches, but I have not confirmed this. The clip holds 15 pellets and contains the CO2. You should be very careful in replacing the CO2, as the clip can break, the gun itself has never given any problems though.

    Shooting the pistol:

The pistol has a good power, and I have been shot with it in the past (it stings). The sights on the gun are very accurate within the limitations of the gun itself. The range is good, but the accuracy does dwindle after about 50-75 feet, at which point hitting anything is a matter of luck (though you shouldn't be using a pistol for anything but CQC anyway). The gun will shoot up to maybe 120 feet, but by then the pellet will have lost most of its power. The CO2 will bleed out if you unscrew it, which can freeze your hand, so leave it in.

This is a great weapon for beginners and those who don't want to fork over massive amounts of cash, and it will preform well. I have never had any problems with the pistol itself, though the clip has broken once, but new mags are cheap. Despite all the little bad things, this is still an outstanding pistol, and it therefor earns five stars.

    Pros

    Heavy
    Powerful
    Accurate within 50-75 feet
    Nice feel

    Cons

    Slide wiggles
    Clip rarely has issues
Safety does not prevent you from pulling the trigger

5 out of 5- Sigarms GSR

I have used this in a few games and, as a sniper, a secondary is very important to me. I needed a durable high-power pistol that has a undermounted rail. This gun is a perfect back-up for me and I would highly suggest getting it if you're in need of a pistol. Some of the players i went up against today don't have a gun that can go as fast as this pistol. I think this thing's as close to being "the perfect back up" as any that I have seen. When we do our games I get flanked >> But now they don't really want to >=)
Get this gun - you won't regret it.

5 out of 5- Amazing Pistol

This pistol is one of my many in my arsenal, but it is one of my favorite. I like the realistic weight of it, the mag size, accuracy, sights, and power. Also is is a good price for such a high end gun. Must have.
