The stock barrel in the average AEG usually has an inner diameter of 6.08mm to 6.05mm. Installing a tight bore barrel will increase the accuracy of your AEG so you will get tighter shot groups and more consistent accuracy at longer ranges. Since the BB will fit tighter in the barrel your compression will also increase which can boost your muzzle velocity as well. How much it will increase can vary but it will typically climb 10-20 fps.

Mad Bullís Black Python 6.03mm tight bore is perfect for any application from sharp shooter to support gunner. The tightness will give your rifle a noticeable increase in accuracy while still allowing enough tolerance so as not to cause a jam for those of us who donít clean their barrel before every game. Do note however that you must always use high quality, high polished ammunition when using a tight bore barrel.

  • 6.03 x 363mm with crowned muzzle.
  • AEG cut works in most Marui compatible M4, SR-16, SG551
  • Only works in AEG. Will not work in spring guns.

4 out of 5- Great accuracy, tough install.

I installed one of these Mad Bull barrels on my CA M15 carbine the yesterday. It was a tough install, the new barrel was 2 thousandths of an inch larger (outside diameter) than the stock barrel, so I had to wet sand it down. It took a while and took a great deal of patience and precision, but finally got it back together. I tried it out, one a squirrel paper target my dad uses to go squirrel hunting with his .22. I shot 4 times, without adjusting the hop-up, or the scope (ACOG red dot from this site, sooo good) since the barrel install. I got 3 solid headshots on a squirrel at 50 ft. This is a significant improvement, and the fps is noticably better too. If i was just rating the performance, I would give it a 6 out of 5, but the difficulty of the installation brought it down.

    -Real Mad

    PS
My black python barrel is black anodized aluminum, but the picture looks like it is silver. I got the barrel from a different site (sorry shorty, parents bought it for my b-day) but the anodization might have been what made the barrel too thick. So installation might be easier if you buy it from shortyusa.

5 out of 5- Mad Bull is the third best

Mad Bull makes the third best tight bore barrels. They are made of aluminum and have an internal diameter if 6.03mm. Systema tight bore barrels have a 6.04m diameter and are made of brass. Brass, copper, and aluminum are easier to get warped. Prometheus makes the second best tight bore barrels. They have an internal diameter of 6.03mm like this, but are made of stainless steel. It also costs a pretty penny. PDI tight bore barrels are laser cut 6.01mm stainless steel tight bore barrels. They are the best, however a BB can get stuck so use the best BB's like Tsunami double polished BB's which are expensive. KSC works fine in them I never got a stuck BB. If you do not want any risks and you do not want to spend a lot of money get this tight bore. I have the PDI 6.01 tight bore in my ICS M4. Externally that gun is a sexy beast now. I have a G&P crane stock with the battery I bought from here, UTG one piece metal R.I.S. system, 2ROY/ECHO 1 M203 shorty grenade launcher, G&P Aimpoint red/green dot sight (removed the carry handle), ICS AN/PEQ2 laser battery box w/ real laser (I got it for the laser), ICS quick detack silencer, and an ICS ready mag system. The 6.01 tight bore increases muzzle velocity by a long shot and increases range and accuracy by a lot. This increases those more than other brand name tight bore barrels.

5 out of 5- Great barrel

I would recommend you get a professional to install this, I almost broke my gun trying. When installed, I noticed this increased my grouping of the shots. It also increased the Fps. Make sure you know what youre doing before you try to do it yourself.

5 out of 5- The first upgrade you should get

The Tight bore barrel is a great way to upgrade your gun without compromising the internals. I'm not saying that you can't still mess them up during installation, because you can, what I meant was that there is little or no chance of stripping gears, burning out motors, ruining pistons, or any of that. You get a small increase in FPS and better accuracy. What more could you ask for? Get it.

5 out of 5- Tight Bores are good

Tight bore barrels are a good upgrade. Mad Bull barrels makes good barrels. These are pretty easy to install, just be careful not to damage your hop up when taking out your old barrel.
