So you finally got that Airsoft K98 or MP40 and all the gear to boot, but your authentic German WWII load out is still missing something, but what could it be? How about the infamous 9mm Luger used by the Germans from 1908 to 1938? That’s it! But with the cost of all the gear you just bought, how can you expect to buy a Luger? Surely it must either cost a fortune or be horrible quality! Perhaps so, until now at least! The new WE Luger is not only cost effective, but it’s full metal, has trademarks, and feels just like the real Luger!

The real 9mm Luger (P-08), also referred to as “parabellum” which translates to “for war” was utilized by the Germans during WWII and is synonymous with the war and sought after by Allied troops as a war trophy. So famous is this gun that it’s still sought after by collectors from all over the world today.

So detailed is this recreation that it even has trademarks similar to those found on the real Luger. In fact, when we did a side by side comparison with a real Luger, those who we asked to discern the Airsoft gun from the Luger generally had to simply guess. From the stamped “1915” on the top of the barrel to indicate it was manufactured during that year to the “Gesichert” marking the safety selector. Also amazing is that this gun functions exactly like the real Luger, the slide moving uniquely just like the real one. And there’s no guessing if you fired all of your BBs or not as when you’re out of ammo, the gun’s action will stay locked open.

While this WE Luger might not be the best of shooters and has a limited magazine capacity of only 15 rounds, it can certainly do its job and engage targets effectively up to 100 feet. This gun comes highly recommended if you have an Airsoft, or even Reenactment German WWII load out or if you just love the 9mm Luger.

5 out of 5- Luger? HELL YEAH!

My friend has this gun (The Short variant) and I am buying one for myself soon and ShortyUSA just provided me with a good seller.

Here's a basic history of the Luger P08 pistol. It was invented in 1900 by Georg Luger (Originally chambered for 7.65x22 Luger) as an evolution to the Borchardt C-93 and served in both World Wars, although started to be replaced in WWII by the Walther P38, which although was an improvement over the Luger, was suprisingly less popular. The real-steel one had an 8 round magazine, considered high-capacity back then. Considered too weak by the German army, the 7.65mm round was replaced by the then-new and now-popular 9mm Luger cardridge, which was created by cutting off the bottleneck of the case to accept 9mm bullets. And in 1908 it is approved as the new sidearm for the German infantry, hence it's designation P08: Pisole model 1908. The Luger uses a toggle-lock action, a very unique and uncommon action. Supremely accurate, but prone to jamming after injesting dirt as many of the components are exposed. Many Lugers were captured during both World Wars and taken home as trophies and many are still circulation. Still sought after by collectors both for its sleek design, superlative accuracy, great durability, and by its connection to Imperial and Nazi Germany, some sell for up to $16,000 a piece.

This WE Luger is a great replica. The medium variant, however, IS an authentic barrel length, it's really based on the model the German Navy used.
Here's my pros and cons for the short variant.

    PROS:
    Heavy
    Sexy
    Balanced
Can fit in a UTG vest holster
    Quick, light trigger pull
    Realistic blow back
    Comfortable grip
    Full metal - Durable
    Unique slide action
    Muzzle velocity
Hurts like a b!tch (I know, I've been shot by it)
    Range
VERY accurate (Efficient up to about 33 meters)
Authentic trademarks, serial #, Date, safety, ect.
    It's over 108 years old
    No hammer
    Smooth sliding action
Knobs on the slide for best grip
Uses green gas - compatable with common propane

    CONS:
Black grips - Makes it look like a modern civilian replica (But authentic World War ones can be fitted)
    Gas guzzler
Jams from dirt (But that's also the case with the real-steel Luger, so I guess it's Ok)
    No spare mags on ShortyUSA

Overall you can't remove a star for the cons. It's a great sidearm and I can consider it a primary weapon. If you're a WWII fanatic like me, this is a great addition to your collection if you also buy authentic wooden grips from the war (Commonly found on Ebay and other places like that).

    5 out of 5- Bangin

This gun is awesome. The shorter barrel is like the infantry officer one where the barrel comes out 1-2 inches from the gun. This is the most practical gun. it is a good gun and it hurts a lot when hit by it. When your friends hear you shooting this at them they will run. This an almost replica german ww2 lugar because of the cap.

    PROS
    Looks cool and realistic
    Shoots well
    Hurts a lot
    Small and good for CQB
    Accurate
easy to find gas for it
    Good magazine size

    CONS
    jams
has rubber grips which ruins the the authentic look
no spare magazines on shorty usa but easy to find elsewhere

    5 out of 5- AMAZING!!!

I've always wanted a decent Luger. It's sleek style and design makes it look very menacing. Now WE has given me one that I cannot find any fault with. ...

This gun is amazing! It has good weight, and fits in your hand very nicely. The action is silky smooth and sounds awesome when racked. Power and accuracy are off the charts. At 10 meters it will penetrate its shipping carton and put all 15 rounds within a three inch circle. It performs best with propane instead of green gas. It's a gas guzzler and I can shoot three magazines with one fill, but I can't complain about that because the power, accuracy and authentic blow back action all make up for it. The trigger is fantastic. The pull is light, crisp and very predictable, which helps you stay on target.

Some people complain about the black plastic grips, but I like the idea of the gun being all black instead of having contrasting wooden grips. And as far as them being plastic, not a problem. They don't diminish the looks of the gun, but perhaps they would feel better if they were rubberized.

If you're a fan of the Luger you need to get this gun. You will not be sorry.

    PROS:
    Powerful
    Accurate
    Full Metal
    Heavy
    Silky Smooth Action
    Trigger
    Beautiful

    CONS:
    None of any consequence

    BUY IT!

    5 out of 5- P.08 Luger

This is probably my favorite pistol of all time. WWII was probably the best era for guns- in my opinion. Now for a tiny reiteration on history. The P.08 Luger was used throughout WWII. It didn't stop in 1938. It was still in production until 1942. The Walther P38 was supposed to be a replacement for the Luger because it was expensive and very maintenance oriented.

Now for the review. This gun is a beast. The blow-back mechanism on this gun looks awesome, and it is very well balanced. You get like 2-3 clips from one fill of gas, which compared to my G17 (1- 1 1/2) that's pretty good. I would recommend buying 2-3 extra mags as well. I bought one, and am planning on buying more.

    5 out of 5.

    3 out of 5- Good Wall-Hanger

This is an excellent visual reproduction of a Luger pistol, but I wouldn't give it any style points for function. I bought this gun after viewing the You Tube accounts of its performance. I got the gun, the propane tank adaptor; BBs; the whole nine yards. I filled her up; loaded the BBs and fired away from my porch. What a disappointment. No velocity; no accuracy; no kidding. I once owned a real Luger and got rid of it because it was so inaccurate and always seemed to require tweaking of one component or the other. Looks like the WE Luger falls into that same category. I've ordered a set of walnut grip panels for the WE Luger. I think it will just be a wall-hanger to admire rather than a working gun. Do yourself a favor and get a Crossman air gun if you want performance.

    4 out of 5- It's a good Show Gun

So a friend of mine has this gun, and I have been able to shoot this thing. Both him and I agree that it is really just a "Show" gun. It is really fun to shoot and no doubt about that. The only thing is to make sure you clean it a lot. The action is different so it's a little easier to get dirty.

    Pros.
The FPS is ok with .2g BBs
    The range is ok
    It is fairly accurate.
    Full metal is always good.
The action is really cool and realistic

    Cons.
Will randomly jam, but not that often.
Needs to be cleaned often due to the different action.
    Uses A LOT of gas.

It's a fun gun to use shooting off in the back yard, but in the woods or a large game, it's not very practical.

All in all, a fun gun.

    Psycho C
