If you are looking for something completely out of the ordinary, the JG S.T.A.R. Dragon will achieve that goal like no other!

This rifle is based on one used in a Japanese comic which explains its futuristic, sci-fi appearance. As unnatural as it may look the Dragon is surprisingly comfortable as every curve seems to mold to your hands. Even the stock cradles your cheek as you aim down the rifles iron sights. And just to top it off you’ll find that the surface of the grips and stock have been treated with a rubberized coating for added traction and comfort.

Underneath the rifles exterior shell is a traditional M4 receiver so all of the controls on this rifle will operate just like any other M4/M16 series rifle and will even use the same magazines. It features a telescoping stock with 6 adjustable positions, a functional dust cover which flips open if the charging handle is pulled back and even an A2 adjustable rear sight. If you want to mount optics to your rifle you can do so by using a standard M4/M16 series carry handle mount. You also have the option to mount a small laser or flashlight to the rail located under the muzzle.

The Dragon uses a metal V2 gearbox which comes standard with steel gears, a metal spring guide and a high performance spring giving the rifle more than respectable performance. Even though its barrel is shorter than that of an MP5 it is still effective out to 150 feet so it can still go toe to toe with most any other assault rifle.

For those of you who may be trying to figure out where the battery goes on this thing, it is cleverly hidden directly behind the front sight in the rifles body. To install the battery you must first remove the screw located below the muzzle and then pull the front sight/muzzle off to reveal the battery compartment.

All in all the Dragon is a surprisingly well built rifle with solid performance. Great for a collector’s piece or duking it out at your next skirmish.

Comes with: 8.4v 1100mah battery and 250mah trickle charger. Battery charge time: 5 hours

    3 out of 5- Well...

For some contrast, I suppose I'll be the pessimist here.
this is more of a rating of the gun in relation to the company, I give shorty no foul here :)

    1. QUALITY: there are parts on the gun's shell (the cheap plastic that sits on the M-4) that squeal, and there's some dents, deformations, etc.

    2. SIGHTS: on mine, the iron sights were not mounted to the gun but rather the plastic veneer. they didn't stay there either.

    3. ADAPTERS: the threaded muzzle adapter is threaded in such a way that it is incompatible with most American-made flash-hiders and mock-suppressors. the threads go the same direction on both sides...

    4. BATTERY: the battery is absolutely buried in plastic and it would be completely impractical to change in battle. (think teeny-tiny screw)

    5. THE FATAL FLAW! I only blame JG for this one... there is a long and inaccessible bolt inside the collapsible stock. mine came without that part assembled and within an hour of opening it I discovered that if I tipped my gun up (like to reload it) the stock would simply slide off. eventually I fixed it so that it would stay put but the stock simply snapped off within a couple of months.

    6. MAGAZINES: the foregrip interferes with larger mags ( i.e. 300 ) and I had to file the foregrip down to use them.

    7. MECHANICAL: the gearbox/piton are loud and WHINY. it sounds like absolute rubbish.

    8. HOP-UP: the stock interferes with the charging handle and therefore the hop-up adjustment. very cumbersome in the closed position.

Other than that, A fairly decent beginner weapon I suppose, but give it to me for 100 or less, we'll call it even. On the bright side it is a beautiful design and a radical new look.

1 out of 5- peace of crap

...I usually like to get a gun that is uncommon or unique, so I though this gun would be awesome. At a little over 340 FPS, this gun is okay in that area, but the barrel is about MP5 size, and it doesn't have much of a rail system, so you'll be lucky if you fit a pistol flashlight on this thing. Also, the way they put on the stock was pretty crappy, after about a month it came off. You might also think that the built in front handle thing would make it perfect for CQB, but since it's slanted, it makes the gun awkward to hold. I'd say it's great for CQB, but if you're outdoors use an M16-A2 or an M14. I'm the designated marksman on my airsoft team ... and I use a UTG M14 that is currently being upgraded to shoot 400FPS with .25g BBs :)

    5 out of 5- Dragon!

I bought this ... almost a year ago and it's absolutely amazing! It's fast, accurate and uses the M4 weapon system so you don't have to relearn any new moves. It came with the 190 rd hi-cap Vietnam mag which fed perfectly. It's well worth the money!

    PROS

    Looks
    Feel
    RPM
    FPS
    Mag Capacity

    CONS
    None whatsoever. Buy it!

5 out of 5- hmmmm not so unique....

I bought this gun as my brother's first airsoft gun because he is into all the futuristic guns and i figured he would like it. And I was right --- he loves it. But to me i just think it looks goofy and think they should just stay with the normal style guns because these are just plain strange. Only reason i give it a 5 is because my brother likes it which, i guess, is all that matters. Please rate!

    1 out of 5- Not a S.T.A.R.

I bought this gun and I thought it would be a cool replica gun. I took it out of the box and the stock fell right off. This is not a gun that anybody should use unless you replaced all the plastic with metal (that would make it 25lbs)

    DO NOT BUY THIS

3 out of 5- it is what it is

i must say though, ... the gun is obviously fragile and frail

The gun has a few pluses
    -extremely radical new look
    -under barrel handle
    -higher fps shooting
    -magazine

the gun has average mechanics and parts (gears shooting accuracy) although a high pitch whine is emitted that gives a feel of a toddler's weapon

The gun also has a con list longer than the pros
-(unnecessarily) the gun's retro design uses more than a necessary amount of plastic raising the price
-bolt holding sliding stock is smaller and more inclined to break under small amounts of stress from common use
-sights are slightly misaligned and fragile
and again the parts are obviously plastic and fragile (and hollow)
-smaller battery than for practical use

    please rate

4 out of 5- performs just like a jg m4 "Which Is Good"

I went to shory's walk-in store and we were looking at some of the guns on desplay and my dad say this gun and he was like "what the heck is that?" We asked one of the employees if we could see the gun. The gun had a pretty hefty weight and there was clearly a lot of metal in it. The gun did feel a little akward but all in all, it was pretty comfortable. The gun itself, looks pretty strange and the color makes it look like a toy so it is not that intimidating. The guy at the store told me that it is has the exact same internals as a JG m4. JG m4s are very good in performance and offer the best performance for the price.
Altogether good gun in performance and a great gun for colectors.

    THE END

4 out of 5- Good, Not Great

There is not a lot I can say about the Dragon that will make it any cooler. This is the ultimate SMG that will make all your friends completely jealous. It is not matched by any other gun on the market. The JG S.T.A.R. Dragon includes a retractable stock and one 170rd magazine. Battery and charger are included!!!!

This is an amazing gun for CQB and Field battles. The Specifications are...
    360fps
    Adjustable Hop Up
    Nylon and Zinc Alloy Construction
    170rd Mag
    Retractable Stock
    8.4v 1100 Battery & Charger Included
Hop Up is accessed on the right side by sliding back the cover
Metal V2 gearbox which comes standard with steel gears, a metal spring guide and a high performance spring makes for great internals.

    The Cons
    ........
    ........

Although, this gun is unique in many ways I personally think it has some flaws...
I think it looks very futuristic and I prefer more realistic guns.
The battery included is only an 8.4v 1100 mAh battery so a 9.6v with a higher mAh would be a lot better. I personally only bought this gun because it was unique. Its performance isn't that great with 340-360 FPS and 800RPM but it's fun to pull out once in awhile.

A cool gun if you're into sci-fi stuff otherwise there isn't much special but overall it's not too shabby.

    5 out of 5- great

great gun for the new up and coming people and great for every one really. it is fast and shoots great
there are two things wrong with it: battery is kinda hard to get in but nothing too bad and no front rails because of the body but it's a great gun
