Okay I know what youre thinking. The market needs another Hi-Capa look-alike as much as Custer needed another Indian. So, you ask yourself what makes KJWs double stack 1911 Tactical any different from all the others out there? Well, the main difference is that this one actually works.

This hefty pistol is constructed out of metal with the only plastic part visible being the Tanio Koba polymer grip. The grip is very detailed with wrap around checkering and features a beveled mag well to help guide the magazine into the pistol during those frantic reloads where every second counts. Also featured is a railed frame for attaching accessories such as a flashlight or laser. Its slide has both fore and aft serrations and has been fitted with white dot combat sights.

KJW has equipped their 1911 with a reinforced, CO2 compatible blow back system which generates impressive recoil and a fast cycle rate. Surprisingly this performance does not come at the cost of eating massive amounts of gas as you can expend the entire magazine of rounds as fast as you can pull the trigger without having the pistol freeze up or even slow down noticeably which is something that has plagued other models.

One thing about this pistol that really impressed us was how accurate it was even at its maximum range. Because it is fitted with an adjustable hop up system you are able to use several different weights of BBs from a .2g all the way up to a .28g. In fact with the heavier BBs we were even able to engage torso sized targets past 50 yards with remarkable consistence. Power is a respectable 300 fps with a .2g BB keeping it at CQB friendly levels. However, if you purchase the CO2 powered magazine available separately the muzzle velocity climbs to 350 fps and gives the pistol an even more menacing kick. Also for you out there who already own a WE Hi-Capa 4.3 or 5.1 youll be happy to know that their magazines are compatible with this KJW. Overall the 1911 Tactical is one of the best pistols we have seen from KJW to date. It has great performance, excellent build quality and killer looks. Dont let this one pass you by.

4 out of 5- Good gun, but...

*Warning- Long review. If you want good information, look at this. If you want some loser who can't use grammer and hasn't even seen the gun, look elsewhere.*

I'm not exactly sure if the gun i had was an anomaly or what was the exact reason, but in essence, the gun fell apart (I've had the the 1911 or Hi-Capa as KJW calls it for about 2 months now). I'll give you the details on the gun, but keep in mind that the rating I gave the gun is only by what I saw before the gun began malfunctioning.

    Looks 8.5/10
The thing looks beautiful. I'll just tell you that right now. It really does. The black finish is well applied, it doesn't come off unless you really bang up the gun. The TanioKoba grip is a very nice piece- it fits nice in your hand, but if you have smaller hands then the gun will just seem to get bigger. Don't get me wrong, if you're buying this then you should know already the the 1911 is a pretty big pistol as they go, but this only makes it bigger. Personally I would be just as happy with the normal grip as the TanioKoba, but it's all just preference. The Chrome seems a little out of touch and nonrealistic, but it's really not a lot of parts, so it's not the worst deal.

    Feel 7/10
It's pretty darn heavy, but hey, that can be a plus depending on what you want. I'm a pretty big guy, and I wouldn't exactly call my hands small, and this thing is still pretty big. So I'll stress that here. This gun LOOKS SMALLER up on the computer screen than it really is. The sights are easy to align as sights go (the white dots help- quite a bit), and trigger pull's pretty heavy, at least with Co2. The gun has a little bit of wobble to it, but it's nothing to really whine about.

    Performance 9/10
Now I bought mine from another site, and there it came with a Co2 mag. For those of you who've never used a Co2 pistol before, One size fits all (at least that I've tried.) With Green gas, it's a good faithful pistol. With Co2, it becomes a monster. Scared the Sh$% out of all of my friends when I fired it off. I'd put it's accuracy somewhere between 80-100 feet, with my best shot hitting an archery target straight in the middle at 100. I did a scientific-style testing, and each Co2 Capsule will get you somewhere between 110 and 120 shots. That's a lot.

Now if the gun was still working, I'd use this section to tell you just how beastly it is. However, it's not, and this is where I tell you what went wrong, so you'll know what to look for if you get it. GET A WARRANTY. First, a small piece of metal sheared off of the outer barrel. The piece of metal was the piece that keeps the Outer barrel from sliding and holds it to the inner barrel, so now I had a very loose outer barrel. You could still shoot with it, but it was a hell of a nuisance. Then came the rapid fire. I'd pull the trigger and it would empty 3 or 4 shots at a time on me. again, not the worst but a hell of a nuisance. and finally, the hammer. Part of the front of the hammer, the part where it actually struck the gun, sheared off. This was caused by (at least I suspect) a part on the upper receiver that caught the hammer as the slide was moving back to it's original position after a shot. In essence, I need an entire new gun, or at least a new Hammer, outer barrel, and loading nozzle. And I did not have a warranty on it, so in essence, I'm going to have to perform major surgery to get it back and running.

Now I'm not sure if it was the Co2 that caused the problems or what was the cause, but I probably got a flawed gun. That's why I still gave it 4/5 stars. Just have a look at the insides of the thing before you go off and unload on somebody, that's all.

    Rock on...

5 out of 5- Great Gas Pistol

I got this gun a about a week ago and i have only experienced one problem with the co2 mag that it came with. the co2 mag tends to leak after the 2nd shot put through the gun, but the green gas mags work just as good. this gun is full metal and has a very realistic feeling to it when shot.

    Pros
    full metal
    has a slight kick
    feels good in hand
    clips hold 30 rounds
    semi auto
    laser/flashlight compatible

    cons
    co2 mag might leak

Great gun for novice or pro

4 out of 5- First GBB pistol is contagious

Well, we've had so much fun with AEG's that I just had to try out a GBB pistol. I'll have to say that they're at least as much fun as shooting a .22 semi-auto and probably more contagious! ...

This gun is just a blast to shoot. It's recoil is very similar to firing a .22 LR round from a Ruger Mark I and it might even be slightly more violent than this with a full charge of green gas or CO2. The accuracy was okay out of the box with .2 gram BB's. The sights seem dead-on. Double-tapping a pop can placed on the ground approximately 40 feet away produced surprisingly accurate results with multiple hits (or near misses) more often than not. It goes without saying that this kind of weapon will be sweet in airsoft games with human-size targets.

The magazines hold 30 rounds and are easily filled with a UTG speed-loader. Approximately 2 1/2 magazines or about 75 rounds seems typical with a single CO2 cartridge; I think it's slightly less with green gas and I haven't tried propane yet.

I'm still on the learning curve with regard to charging the gas magazine. A 25-30 second charge is what I've been doing. The owner's manual, like most airsoft product manuals, is wanting for detail and there always seems to be loss in the translation between Asian and English dialects. Since this is my first experience with a gas blow back airsoft pistol, I don't have anything to compare this with and therefore cannot gauge the performance. I'll have to leave this kind of detail to the die-hard airsofters. I've noticed that there is still adequate charge left after 60 rounds, but this dwindles fairly quickly. Other makes and model guns might do a bit better or worse for all I know.

As far as looks go, this gun is definitely mean looking right down to the end of the barrel. KJW paints about 1/4" of the barrel end blaze orange, and this part of the barrel protrudes from the end of the slide. Otherwise, this gun looks and feels pretty real. I'm told that there are threaded barrels available that will fit this gun; the addition of a short mock silencer would do away with the orange paint and really enhance its already attractive appearance.

There is some play in the slide of my gun. I can't say that this is typical of airsoft GBB pistols or even this particular make or model, but it's worth mentioning because this can cause safety issues. If the gun is pointed toward the ground, the weight of the slide is sufficient to keep it forward and permit use of the thumb safety. However, if the gun is pointed up (skyward as is often my practice with handguns), then the slide, by virtue of gravity, moves rear-ward just far enough to prohibit full engagement of the safety. This could be a problem if the shooter isn't aware that the safety is not full engaged. Again, it might be just my pistol, but it's still worth mentioning.

So, my KJW 1911 Tactical has enough play both in the slide and a little in the magazine to have some rattle and shake to it; not so much as to be offensive but enough to let you know you're not handling a handgun manufactured with tight tolerances.

I suppose this review will be more useful to the novice or first time GBB pistol user, and it should be viewed as such. I don't pretend to be an expert on airsoft products, but I've had plenty of handguns and other weapons all my life. I am partial to the 1911 Colt and many of its spin-offs. These GBB 1911 replicas are really fun and I think probably very contagious.

This should be an excellent and relatively safe training aid for anyone wanting to learn how to use this type of handgun. These guns will surely be a lot of fun for the boys using them in the military games/airsoft wars as well. I sure wouldn't want to be hit by one of these.

Have fun, but always be safe or... "you'll shoot you eye out".

    RG

    5 out of 5- Insane

I got this pistol last week for Christmas and despite the fact I've had some problems with the included Co2 clip, it is still insane. Out of the box the pistol shot hard, accurate, fast, and LOUD. The first problem arose when I went to switch the Co2 cartridge in the mag. When I tightened the new cartridge in, all the gas leaked out of the top. I fixed the problem by cutting out a small O-ring and sticking it in with the Co2 cartridge, and by screwing the Co2 release button tighter. Since then I have ordered two new Co2 clips and they have no problems so far.

    Overall:

    Pros:
    -Accuracy: 9/10
    -Power: 10/10
    -Range: 8/10
    -FPS: 9/10
    -Intimidation Factor: 20/10

    Cons:
-Co2 clip may give you problems

    Quick story:
The first time I used this pistol was in a 2v3 match. Me with my CYMA Thompson and This pistol, and my friend with my M324. The other team consisted of 2 AEG's and a decent springer. One of the AEG's advanced to the bunker directly in front of our base, right as I ran out of ammo in my Thompson. If he charged we were screwed. So I took this pistol and with my friends cover I rushed. I quickly took out both AEG's, and my friend easily took out the springer. My other friends were scared shitless when they heard me fire this gun.

If you're looking for a reliable, strong, and intimidating pistol, here it is.

    5 out of 5- Incredible

First of all, get the co2 mag. it's worth it for 50 more fps!! This gun is always my back up, it's great and will fire as fast as you can pull the trigger. It is of a beautiful weight and size. The mag capacity is awesome and the gun is totally worth the money, (from someone who is on a tight budget). CO2 is cheaper in the long run. This gun has perfect recoil and has OK gas efficiency (about 70 rounds (2 mags) per co2 cartridge). I wish KJW didn't change it though. they changed it right after I got this gun. Before it had four chrome parts, which looked awesome. The trigger, hammer, ejection port cover, and outer barrel. This gun's range and accuracy is great, It works best with .25s though, and the hop-up on mine keeps the BB perfectly straight as far as I can see.

Normally I would list the pros and cons, but there are no cons. Just the price is a little much, but (in this case) you get what you pay for!

5 out of 5- AWESOME PISTOL!

Probably without a doubt, the best gas pistol out on the market today! I would gladly use this over a tm any day. It is very accurate, and the fps is impressive. The weight is very comfortable, and it is not bulky. If you can't handle the recoil, I would suggest you buy a non-blowback. I would also suggest not getting a CO2 mag. The CO2 bottles get lodged in tight and it is a pain to remove them. And further more, they don't last for the whole mag. Get a propane adapter and an extra mag or two and you should be fine. In fact you could probably use this as your primary. Hope this helps! See you in my sights.

5 out of 5- Nice backup

This gun works wonders when it comes to a backup. In a war this team was rushing me and I'm a sniper and i pulled this bad boy out and stopped them dead in their tracks. I would totally recommend this gun and would buy it if you have the money.
    Buy and don't look back
