The KJW M9 series has been around for over a decade now and still remain as some of the most popular gas blow back sidearms in todays airsoft arsenal for good reason. It is a really, really nice pistol for a very affordable price. Being constructed from metal these pistols are almost identical in weight and balance to their 9mm, fire breathing counterparts. Even the design of their magazines looks remarkably like the real thing.

Recently KJW has reworked these pistols to have even better gas efficiency and improved performance. The 2nd Generation KJW M9 pistols have been fitting with a reinforced blow back cylinder as well as stiffer hammer and recoil springs making it possible for them to use the higher pressure CO2 magazines available separately if you crave more power. Nevertheless, even when used with regular propane these pistols have impressive performance. Punching out shots at 320 fps they will put a short end to any soda can that steps out of line. Their accuracy should also be noted since it is argued that these pistols can achieve better long range accuracy than a KWA M9 PTP. These latest models are also far more gas efficient making it possible to dump an entire magazine without any noticeable cool down. And, their full metal construction combined with the high compression blow back system gives the KJW M9 a crisp and powerful recoil as each shot is fired.

This model from KJW replicates the classic M9 which has been the standard sidearm for the U.S. Military since 1985. With its sleek lines and contoured grip its profile is unmistakable. Also, the grips now have a rubberized finish which really makes a noticeable difference in the feel of the pistol. Other features include white dot combat sights, lanyard ring and ambidextrous safety levers.

Add a threaded barrel, mock suppressor and aftermarket grips to this beauty and you’ve got one wicked looking pistol!

WARNING!!
When loading this guns magazine be careful not to release the spring so that it slams against the top of the magazine. This will crack the lips of the magazine which will not be covered under warranty.

5 out of 5- Buy it if you want to

This is My review for the KJW M9 Tactical. I have used this as well and can tell you that they are the same. I am also going to update the review with some more info gained over the longer use of the gun.

The power is average for a GBB. I don't know exactly how fast it shoots at but I'm gonna say that its around 300 fps, maybe more. It shoots through a cardboard box at close range and makes it through one side of a can and leaves a dent on the other. The blowback however isn't very strong, less than average for a metal-slided gun, but still gives you a jolt. The gas usage is pretty efficient for a metal gun but the magazine only holds enough gas for a couple more bbs to be fired than what it holds but that gives you the capability to warm up the mags quicker for more powerful shooting. The cool-down effect isn't too drastic either.

This gun has great accuracy and average range. I could hit a tree at 100 feet with no problem and with a steady hand you can hit a can with little problem with calm wind conditions. After about 110 feet [a measurement, not a guess] the bb drops off. A hop-up adjustment may help this but I really didn't mess with that because it seems to be fine. Note that that I used .25g bbs though.

Constructed out of mostly what appears to thick die cast the gun feels a little odd to me, probably because I'm used to cheap guns and ironically some of the cheaper ones are heavier. This is not the case with this gun however. Another thing that I should point out that the gun does weigh as much as the real unloaded Beretta. The grips on this baby are great for my hands and fit perfectly with my large fingers but my one complaint is that there is no real comfortable spot for your thumb. There is a notch on it but I can't fit my thumb quite comfortably, but I guess I'll get used to it. The paint the gun has is good too, it doesn't look that great but is nice enough and also looks like it will be pretty hard to scratch. Another complaint that I have is that there was a sticker on the slide (something about a warning, I didn't read it) that I pulled off and left a bunch of residue that I'm working on getting off but I was afraid any chemicals would ruin the paint so watch out for that.

The dis assembly lever is realistic and works flawlessly. I can take the gun apart and put it back together in under 15 seconds, not that that is good for anything. The safety is also realistic and also works great although its a little stiff and really you can't put it on and off quick enough, so that's not that great but whatever. The double action trigger is cool but isn't really good for anything as you still have to cock the the in order to load the bb into the chamber. Actually due to the lack of a decocker you can hold the hammer, pull the trigger, let the hammer go slightly down, then release the trigger and hammer. Then you can somewhat safely carry the gun without the safety on. The cycle rate is extremely fast for a full metal gun. It actually seems faster than my CO2 Sigma, which is astonishing. The last thing that I like is the somewhat light and short trigger pull, although it falls short of spectacular.

On a final note, this gun provides an economical and sturdy option to many of the guns out there. Average FPS, decent build, and low price greatly outweigh any of the guns drawbacks. I highly recommend this gun to anyone.

5 out of 5- After a while in hiding....

I haven't posted a review, or for that matter, bought an airsoft gun for a long while now. I've been fixing, and tuning up my guns for the past while, and still haven got them all fully repaired :-/ but that is not the deal now. I bought this gun and have to brag about it.

This is much like the WE Dragon I own(wich the safety screwed up and is now at fully auto, and is almost beyond repair). But I did get it temporarily working to have a face off or two. I gave this gun listed to the owner of a paintball/airsoft field and we had a 3 on 3 match. Two springers and our gas guns. Springers aren't that important so I'll get back to the gun. We started off on a one acre wooded playing field. I went out and I shot at him from about 75 feet away and missed, but did hit his springer all 3 times :-)

I ran after him while my springers got the other member. The guy can run much faster than me and about every five steps he would turn around to see where I was, so I jumped in the high grass when he wasnt looking. He stopped..... and looked dumbfounded. He slowly and coutiously walked towards me. I knew for a fact that my gun was more powerfull and tried to get him at a distance to where he couldn't shoot back. I rolled out and shot at him about 4 times from about 100 feet away, missing terribly for not even aiming. He whipped out and popped off two and they bounced off the ground and hit me in the face. I rolled back into the grass, stood up and took off. I'd say he shot at me about 15 times before I got to the telephone pole (20 feet away). But what I must say is that they all hit the loose/hanging parts of my jeans, shirt, he even hit my hat, and he was about 30 feet away. I checked my clip, turned out from the telephone pole, and pulled the trigger.....Sure enough it screws up. All you see is a huge smokey looking stream of green gas shooting out of the chamber. POP POP POP POP POP.... 5 times to the face. I Still have marks. But my slide caught back afterwards because I was still aiming it at him and it shot out BB's the rate of a MAC-11 hitting him about 15 times in the face in the blink of an eye, also cracking his goggles.

    We claimed a tie...

I went out and shot it by myself and must say that it seems like a girl version of the WE Dragon (not in a bad way). I say this because it has a light kick (really light kick for a metal gun), it's lighter(but still heavy), has the same clip amount, and a tad more *girly* grips (but better if u have samaller hands).

I say it's worthy of purchase since its also about 50 bucks cheaper than the WE Dragon though!

5 out of 5- Hoooooooo Aaaaaaaah or Ooooooo Raaaah

I just got this gun yesterday. Now this is an OUTSTANDING pistol, son. I love the feel in my hand of a good, solid-weighted gun. This is that gun (2.5 lbs), like the real M9. Ok... then we've got the satisfying feel of full metal construction. Awesome. In addition, theres a decent (not amazing) velocity at the muzzle of 300 fps which makes the range for this gun an easy 150 feet as tested on my back-yard range. You know how I got to 150 ft? It has adjustable Hop Up!!! Now the magazine holds 26 rounds with not like 100 rounds but that is plenty for a secondary sidearm when you have a primary gun like an assault rifle for distances. As a gas gun, this amazing wonder can fire as fast as you can pull the trigger and that is plenty for me to get that small squad that I might come upon who are hiding in the near bushes.

OK... hear me say that 300 fps was OK... well, with Xtreme Gas you can probably figure 450 fps at the muzzle which means accuracy out to 200 ft bench rested if you ever had to use this to replace your broken or jammed rifle.

I love the feel, looks, power, fact that I can use Xtreme Gas, adjustable Hop Up, accuracy, attention to detail all over the gun so I'm feeling like I'm holding my old M9 / 92FS and the kick is nearly realistic.

Now I ask you... what MORE could you want from a pistol selling for just around $100. You can't beat that price on guns with far less power that are full GBBs. They just don't exist. Don't hesitate to own something you will be happy to have for many years in many Airsoft battles.

Now listen up... BUY THIS... that's an order, son!!!!

5 out of 5- OH MY GOD!!!

This gun is a masterpiece. It is so realistic you might be afraid to point it at someone. It feels like it was made for just your hand. It recoils and makes all of those beautiful metal sounds. You will feel unstoppable with this at your side. It has a great rate of fire, and really packs a punch. It also has a decent mag capacity. All in all, I would buy this over any other sidearm. Hope this helps!

4 out of 5- Decent gun but...

Decent gun but why would you get this one instead of the M9 Tactitcal for the same price. You can upgrade that one and it looks a lot cooler than this one. I would just wait til shorty gets that back in stock and buy that.

    Hoped it helped.

    4 out of 5- great

i bought this gun off ... about a year ago wen shortyusa didnt carry this gun. its a great gun n will shattr glass n i can unload the clip by bump firing in about 2 seconds it shoots so fast. i actualy sold it to a kid who took off the tip n says its real. it feels real and looks real. the only beef i had wit it is that it had a little prob loadin bbs wit the blowback for a whil but i think it just had too much lube. oh yeah and i converted it to fire nails that shoots so fast they stik in your wall n stuff.

overall a great gun but i found my hopup was set for bbs like .22 or .21 cuz .23 dropped and .2 rose. the most realistic airsoft gun i evr seen.
