The ECHO 1 Advanced Sniper Rifle has finally been released and it looks like ECHO 1 just threw down the gauntlet for the sniper rifle market. Lightweight, powerful and whisper quiet the ASR is everything you would want in a precision rifle.

Equipped with an M4 LE style 6 position collapsible stock and M4 pistol grip the ASR mirrors the ergonomics of the M4 rifle so it will have a very familiar feel for those of you already running an M4 series rifle. The pistol grip is actually much slimmer than those found on AEG’s so it feels more like the grips found on the real steel M4 rifles. The main body and forend of the rifles stock are made out of fiber composite making it strong yet lightweight. Its forend has a rounded contour and is textured for a solid grip. At the front of the forend is a metal quick detach bi-pod which legs can be folded back along the forend or forwards along the barrel. If you wish to run the rifle without a bi-pod altogether it can be removed simply by pressing a lever.

The receiver, bolt handle, bolt and barrel of the ASR are solidly built from metal for maximum durability and ruggedness. Along the top of the rifles receiver is a weaver mounting deck for attaching optics whether it be a scope, red dot sight or night vision. The rifles receiver is configured to accept either a right handed or left handed bolt, both of which are included with the rifle. The rifle comes with the right handed bolt pre-installed but can be switched out for the left handed bolt quite easily. Please be aware that this handle does not come with instructions however installation is a relatively simply procedure (click here for more info on installing the bolt handle).

The ASR is equipped with a brass 6.06X455mm inner barrel which is mated to the same adjustable hop-up system as found in the UTG MK96 so it would be able to accept aftermarket barrels cut for the MK96 hop-up. The ASR’s barrel is 44mm shorter than the MK96’s so be weary of this if you plan on upgrading the barrel. Its cylinder is also the same size as the MK96’s so springs, spring guides and pistons are also compatible. The ASR magazines, while they appear to be very similar to the MK96 magazines, do have a different mag catch design and therefore are not interchangeable. However, ECHO 1 was nice enough to include a total of 3 magazines with this rifle so you shouldn’t need spares any time soon.

Now, the main question of “does it shoot well"? Saying this rifle shot “well” would be the understatement of the year. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, this rifle shoots extraordinarily well. In fact we had to back up from the firing range, across the parking lot and over half way through our warehouse before we found the rifles maximum range. Firing .4g rounds, it is possible to get consecutive hits on a torso sized target out to 80 yards (240 feet). Its muzzle velocity was clocked at 460 fps with a .2g BB which was surprising since the rifle is quieter than most spring pistols. Because of this power we only suggest using BBs weighing .27g or more to maintain a level trajectory. For best accuracy we recommend .4g BBs.

No matter if you need a long range precision rifle for sniping or for target practice the ASR is a serious contender.

Comes with: 2 spare magazines, QD bi-pod and left handed bolt.

4 out of 5- Looks like an amazing contender... scratch that, just take shorty's word for it

The moment I laid eyes on this gun... I'll admit, I wasn't appealed by its design. At first it looked like a Super 9 and a M4 had a baby. It looked like a joke.

Believe me, this is no joke.

    460 FPS

    240 foot reach

    6 point adjustable stock?

    Pistol grip?

    Chuck Norris approved?

Better than my M324? This is an atrocity! This is blasphemy! This is madness!

    Madness?

    5 out of 5- God's sniper.

The ASR was my first sniper and it is simply amazing. i am getting 3'' groupings at 150'! the first war i used it in i went 13-1. i suggest getting .30 bbs or above because the hop-up is a pain in the a** with anything lighter. but here are some pros and cons i got after using it in combat solely as a sniper.

    PROS:
    very lightweight
very powerful for a spring sniper (i got 485 fps when chronoed)
very accurate (with the right bbs)
the pistol grip is a nice touch
    the adjustable stock
    very smooth action
    soft on the eyes
    not too big (long)
    upgradeable
    three mags= 75 rounds

    CONS:
    the plastic buffer tube
the hop-up is difficult to adjust to good specs
bi-pod is non-locking and does not fit to the gun well at all

other than those three minor issues this is a gun Jesus would carry into battle. it is by far my favorite gun. buy, buy, buy! you won't regret it.

    rabbitslayer out...

    4 out of 5- wow

I bought that 100 utg sniper rifle a while ago and a week ago my freind ordered this. At first i thought i could snap it in half, but half way throught the battle he took out most of our guys. When they gave me his position, i was up in a tree (which i dont recommend doing). So there was no where to run; i fired a shot at him and missed. He saw me and started firing. I fired back but he was way out of my gun's range and he nailed me the second half of the battle. We did a sniper vs all thing where the snipers try to hold back the other guys advance. Me and him set up at the end of a trail that we knew they where going to use and the second they got in range he just started nailing them. They fell back quickly and i had to move up 40 feet to get in range. The second time they tried to get us, we got nailed by full auto fire. So long story short, this gun is awesome, and if it was auto it would be better.

    5 out of 5- AWESOME

THIS IS GREAT. I LOVE IT. IT'S BY FAR MY FAVORITE GUN. THE ONLY THING I DON'T IKE ABOUT THIS GUN IS THE M4 PISTOL GRIP. I DON'T LIKE IT. IT'S UNCOMFORTABLE IN MY opinion and it hurts your hand after a while. But that's not that big of a deal. I recommend buying it.

    5 out of 5- tops the m324

From the day the utg m324 was released it dominated the airsoft field with its combination of power, accuracy, and distance. However, those days are over now! The Echo1 ASR has, in my opinion, topped the m324 as the best affordable sniper on the market. I have owned many m324s over the last 5 years and have loved every generation but the ASR beats the m324 in every respect; it's lightweight, affordable, powerful, accurate, and has the best range of any gun currently sold on Shorty. All this coming for the biggest m324 fan in airsoft! If that doesn't "get the ASR now" I don't know what does.

    5 out of 5- Okay...

Now, this is a pretty good gun, but I've found a few flaws. I'm not sure if this is generic for all sniper rifles considering this is my first one, but I'll just list what I like and don't like about it.

    PROS:
    Accurate
    Powerful
    3 Clips
    Pistol Grip
    Bi-pod
    Adjustable Stock

    CONS:
    Bi-pod is a bit Wobbly
    Stock isn't too Sturdy
    Too much hop-up(adjustable)
    Clips get stuck

Overall, I'm pretty impressed by this gun. I'd suggest getting it.

    5 out of 5- Best

Accuracy is amazing. I took 33 guys out in a 50 person free-for-all. I wasn't wearing a ghillie suit, either. The bolt it smooth, velocity is just impossible, and overall, ownage.

    5 out of 5- greatness

this gun is amazing. get it. fast, accurate, and lightweight. instead of layin down and waiting for the target with the occasional sniper, you can be more mobile with this gun which is the best. i highly recommend this, and the price is great.

5 out of 5- very good

This gun exceeded my expectations when i first got it; it has amazing power and accuracy. It is also lighter than most other guns i have had my hands on. The only bad thing i found in this gun is the bi-pod, since it wiggles quite a bit and is hard to adjust if you are in combat. I also found that this gun is more silent than most guns which makes it almost the perfect sniper.

5 out of 5- Awesome for the price

    This is an awesome gun.
It has got to be one of the best spring snipers out there.
I has seen this gun chronoed; it does shoot about 470fps.
For just 115$$ this is definitely a must.
