Conceived at the dawn of the millennium the H&K MP7A1 was created as a lightweight and compact personal defense weapon also known as a PDW. It was designed to take the place of sidearms and larger caliber SMG’s issued to vehicle and aircraft crews where assault rifles were not practical. Another advantage this submachine gun had over standard sidearms was that it was chambered for the 4.6X30mm round. These steel cored, full metal jacket bullets fire at 2,400 fps and are claimed to penetrate 20 layers of Kevlar and then still go through a 1.6mm titanium plate. Needless to say the H&K MP7A1 is one little gun you didn’t want to mess with.

Officially licensed by Heckler & Koch this airsoft replica of the MP7A1 is manufactured by KWA under contract from Umarex. This highly detailed model features authentic H&K trademarks and sequential serial numbers. Just like the real steel the body of the MP7A1 is constructed of reinforced fiber composite and is within ounces of the real firearms weight. It features a 25 slot rail which runs the full length of the receiver and is equipped with both front and rear flip up iron sights. The sights have dual apertures for long or short range sighting and can be removed entirely if desired. Other features include a 2 position collapsible stock and integral folding foregrip.

Being a gas blow back the controls and function of the MP7A1 are identical to the real steel to include a fully function charging handle and bolt catch. The magazine release, fire selector, bolt catch and charging handle are all ambidextrous so it doesn’t matter if you are a left or right handed shooter either. Just fiddling with all of the levers and switches is fun enough but when you finally squeeze off a burst you won’t be able to keep yourself from smiling. This beauty shoots like nothing we have seen to date. Its action is smooth yet crisp and it sounds meaner than hell. It is equipped with a high capacity blow back cylinder which is much larger than those found in other KWA pistols so it produces a nice kick and doesn’t suffer from cool down even when you empty the entire magazine in one go. At a sizzling 360 fps the MP7A1 is potent enough to make someone think twice about rushing you and with a heavy .28g round we were able to effectively engage a torso sized target from 180 feet away making it just as effective as an AEG.

Whether you are a sniper in need of an above average sidearm or a high speed player who wants something as maneuverable as you are the MP7A1 may be the very thing you have been looking for.

5 out of 5- This Gun Gets It Done

This is an amazing gun. KWA did an incredible job on this.

    Aesthetics:
This gun is beautiful to look at aesthetically, because this is just about fully licensed and trademarked. They actually got it officially licensed by H&K, and it is the first gun to be so. It has all of the features of the real steel, and all of the trade marks, with the exception that the 4.6x30mm is now a 6mm marking. This is the first gun licensed be H&K and it is so worth it. The overall build of this gun is exceptional. I only felt slight wobble on the front rails and on the stock. Everything is ambidextrous, even the sling hooks. It has flip up sites which can also be removed. It's made completely of metal and a highly durable polymer.

    Performance:
While this gun may be small, it still packs a punch with reasonable accuracy. I'm shooting about 350fps over the chronograph for my first few magazines, then it starts to get a little inconsistent. It starts to shoot random highs and lows. It's not too bit of a deal though because you're not trying precision long range shots. This gun has a crazy rate of fire, and you will run out of your 40 round magazine quick. This gun seems to shoot a lot more accurate on semi-auto than it does on fully auto. The hop-up is located right above the flash hider, and is really finicky. It seems like if you don't get it perfect, it doesn't work at all. You can hit around 110 feet with the gun on full auto, but again, this is a PDW so it's not meant to be used for long range anyway.

    Conclusion:
This gun is definitely worth it in my mind. It's primary use for me is just as a back-up, rather than a traditional pistol, but by no means am I saying this cannot be used as a primary. This gun just flat out gets it done. It's worth every cent you pay for it.

    5 out of 5- KWA MP7A1 GBB

Holy crap this thing is amazing. It is so versatile i don't know what to call it. Is it a sidearm, is it a CQB weapon, is it an SMG, is it a assault rifle? What is it? It's all of the above in my opinion. And by the way, i actually own this and am writing a legitimate review unlike some people.....(dunklint)

    Pros:
    Size
FPS is perfect in my opinion
    Range, for its size, AMAZING!
RPM (for me more than 1200 is a waste of bbs)
    Adjustable hop-up
Weight is nice, can one hand if necessary.
Since it is a GBB, realism is pretty good, plus you've got trademarks and such.
Good amount of weaver rails (my suggestions: red-dot flashlight, laser)
    Ambidextrous
    Collapsible stock
    Looks
Fear factor (Do you know how intimidating it is to be on the wrong side of this thing?)

    Cons:
    Too small for some
Some people aren't big on gas guns
    You have to buy gas
    Extra mags are expensive
Mag cap is low (trust me, i own this, you're gonna need more)
RPM is too high for some.
For CQB players, the range is overkill.
Price (est. total cost for a primary is about $450 plus gas)

    Overall:
It's your decision, personally, i say: BUY IT! But, for some it's too expensive, or too small. But remember, this is going to be your favorite gun ever, if you get it.

    5 out of 5- KWA MP7

This by far is one of the most versatile guns i have owned to date. it has not let me down since the day i bought it and i have no reason to think it will in the future. the clip holds enough propane to last for about 4 mags if the weather is warm, although i was able to still play with it in 45 degree weather. if you are worried about the stock breaking, then don't be because it is full metal along with the receiver that it goes into. i would be comfortable with putting the entire gun's weight on the stock without any major wobbling or creaking. i would recommend using .25g bb's with this gun because .2s go all over the place and it's hard to make the correct adjustments to the hop-up with them. Another thing i would recommend is to get a second mag, even if you're using it as a sidearm. It WILL burn through a lot of ammo. if you can't afford the extra mag, save up for it, because it will be well worth your money to buy the gun with the extra mag, plus it's fun to reload. although one problem i had with the mag is that it wouldn't feed the bb's. then i saw that the spring wasn't engaged, so if your mag gets locked up just press the button in the middle of the latch and it will reset the bb's up to the top.

    5 out of 5- MP7

I bought this gun as a movie prop because it's very realistic.
Overall, it's a great gun. Works great and shoots very accurately.

One thing is, the thread size for the flash hider is 12mm positive thread. I contacted KWA and there won't be a 12mm to 14mm adaptor until next year. So if you want to get a suppressor for this gun, you will have to wait or improvise as we did.

4 out of 5- Very Effective

As a sniper, this gun is the best sidearm available. Also, it can be used as a primary, like most other SMGS. If you are under fire trying to get to a better position, this gun gets the job done. It packs a punch, has a rate of fire, but is more accurate on semi and the mag capacity is lower than it should be. Ammo runs out in minutes, and so you need extra magazines. So all in all, a very cost effective weapon as a sidearm.

    4 out of 5- Great

Wonderful gun, powerful and FAST SHOOTING. Only problem is the mag size. With a gun that shoots around 1100, the mag should at least hold 100. But other than that it's an amazing backup gun.
