Carried by war heroes and gangsters alike, the Thompson has had a very long and colorful career which spanned over 60 years. The .45 cal submachine gun better known as the Tommy Gun first entered production in 1921 and quickly became the weapon of choice during the infamous gang wars of the prohibition period. It also saw heavy use during WWII and continued to see service well into the Vietnam War.

Cybergun’s Thompson M1A1 is the perfect weapon for an afternoon of backyard skirmishes or hours of full auto fun knocking soda cans off of your fence posts. This electric powered submachine gun is not a high tech AEG but it does have amazing performance for its modest price tag. It can reach targets out to 120 feet quite effectively and its power it actually about the same as a stock Marui. That’s pretty impressive for a gun under $100!

This model is officially licensed by Auto Ordnance and bears authentic trademarks on its receiver. Its body is constructed out of ABS plastic and is designed very closely to its higher priced AEG brothers. This makes it possible for it to accept most Thompson mid capacity magazines such as those made by King Arms. We have found that the high capacity Thomson AEG magazines will not fit/feed correctly without some modification. It does however come with a massive 1,000 round drum magazine that you could literally “load once and shoot for a week”. Other features include a fully adjustable rear peep sight, movable bolt and function selector and safety levers.

Comes with: 8.4v 450mah battery pack, 200mah trickle charger, sling and cleaning rod. Battery charge time: 2.25 hours

If you are getting one of your first AEGs please take a moment and read the following Hints and Tips for AEG owners.

5 out of 5- Fun Plinker

If one were to buy this, it would be mainly for the drum magazine. The full metal drum mag sold here is around 70$, and holds only 500 rounds or so. Just pay $10 more, and you get a 1000 round drum mag AND an AEG.

While this is considerably weaker than the Thompson by King Arms or Cybergun, it is still a fun thing to shoot. Great for backyard plinking and mini-wars.

I'd suggest using .12 gram bbs with this instead of the .2 gram ones. There just isn't a point to using the .2 gram ones. They tend to drop off pretty soon, and they move slowly. You get overall better results with the .12 gram BBs.

4 out of 5- Good Gun

this is a great gun. the 1000 round drum mag is great. when using this gun only us the .12 gram bb's because using the .2 gram is just a waste of money.

    4 out of 5- Thompson M1A1

I just received this item today. It has a plastic drum magazine which can honestly hold more BBs than you'll need in any one battle. It has quite a bit of power. The drum magazine is a bit tight, I actually sanded down the rail so it would slide in and out easier. The only thing I dislike about the Thompson is that in a normal gun, the hop can be adjusted to cause the BBs to curve up as well, but this hop does not allow itself to be adjusted enough to achieve that, and I can't even adjust it to shoot perfectly horizontally (besides the drop caused by gravity). I would say this airsoft gun has a realistic effective range of about 80-100 feet.

5 out of 5- tommy gun

This gun is very good. the mag is awesome, the range is pretty good, power is ok, the sites are very accurate just don't use crossmen BBs with it, they wrecked my gear box.

3 out of 5- Decent AEG

Well first off I bought this gun for my sister so I have used it before. Let me start off by saying it is a pretty good electric. It shoots fast and can be accurate but by no means should you use .12 rounds unless you want your opponents to beat you in any airsoft war you attend. When firing .12's the ammo just curves straight up after about 20-30 feet and you just can't get that close when going up against high end M4s and AK-47s. So this gun is very good for the price just use .20's and you'll be accurate enough to win, unless you're no good at tactics.

    Over and out.

3 out of 5- Not Great

I bought this gun about a year ago and since then it was only good for backyard use. The drum is good and gives it a different feel but makes it harder to grip due to the long stock that the gun already has. Personally i liked using the gun for show and making people run due to my drum mag. The gun isn't too durable, but this is a definite buy if you just want to play around.

    3 out of 5- thompson M1A1

This airsoft gun is nice. The 1000 round drum mag is extremely nice as well and the wind up on it is a nice feature and adds to the look of it, i think. The accuracy is nice as well. With just a few adjustments to the hop up, the bullets go right were you want them. For $90 i don't think you can beat it.

    4 out of 5- A decent gun

My friend owns this gun, and i would say it is a great gun FOR STARTERS! if you're thinking about going into a battle with L96's and SCARS, think again. this is a gun for target shooting in close range, or a FRIENDLY airsoft battle. it hits hard, if you can hit it, that is. it is not accurate at all with .12 bb's. you won't be able to hit a 2X4 from 20-30 feet.

But it is a good deal, just don't go into intense battles and you'll be good!
