The Walther P99 was introduced in 1997 and achieved instant stardom as the new weapon of MI6ís secret agent James Bond of which it has been ever since. The P99 was highly advanced for its time with complex ergonomics incorporated into its polymer frame which is still argued to be one of the most comfortable grips of any production pistol. It also featured such things as a loaded chamber indicator, decocker and firing pin indicator.

Umarexs spring powered airsoft pistol is a replica of the original P99 variant and is officially licensed by Carl Walther of Germany. Youíll find this pistol has surprisingly good detail throughout with Walther trademarks on its slide, breach, grip and the magazines base plate. The lower frame is also textured to look like the polymer lower of the real pistol.

This version is based on the HFC model so its build quality is a little more robust than Umarexs other P99 pistols and is fully compatible with aftermarket HFC P99 magazines. It features an ambidextrous magazine release which is integrated into the pistols trigger guard for easy operation by either left or right handed shooters. It also has a functional slide lock and even a working firing pin indicator. The indicator protrudes from the rear of the slide to show when the pistol is cocked just like the real thing!

With a fixed hop-up system and respectable power the Umarex P99 is great for an afternoon of plinking targets either inside or outside. While .12g BBs are ok for indoor use, if you plan on shooting outdoors or at a range of more than 20 feet we strongly suggest .2g BBs for best accuracy.

Comes with: Sticky Target.

    5 out of 5- p99

... it was my first soft air. this pistol i think is really nice. i know it's spring but you could use it as your back up or side arm because it is nice to get away from those gas guzzling guns once in a while. it is light and i have had no problems with it and i have had it for 5 years and i use it every other weekend. hope this was helpful.

4 out of 5- Ehh it's alright for a springer

I got this little beauty at a sporting goods retailer and the first thing I noticed is how light it is and how it feels shooting it. If there is one thing I know it's a good springer and this pistol can compete, at least in my opinion, with a ultra grade springer and win.

    **Looks**
I know looks aren't everything, but this gun can deceive the opposition into thinking your gun has no power or range and they'd be sadly mistaken. Everything about the gun screams Tactical: there's no hammer; the safety is a little knob that you turn; and the magazine is flush against the bottom part of the grip.

    **Performance**
It performs pretty well. Its solid internals make it very reliable. In a pinch it's small enough to be used as a CQB weapon mainly because of its large magazine and its heavy hitting power.

    **Role**
Even though it's a hard hitter it's still a pistol so keep it as a last resort/side arm. It's still a good weapon to have though.

    **Pro's and Con's**

    Pro's
    Decent for the price
    Hard hitting at close range
    Decent range
    Easy to grip and comfortable
    Mag Capacity is good

    Con's
None that really must be mentioned

    **War Story**

It was an all day match and luck would have I was the only one with Spring guns(Lucky Me). So the idea of the day was Team Deathmatch - if you get hit, call out and sit down where you got hit. (You could be revived, but people just used you as bait.) So I moved into this little overhang, one way in one way out kinda deal, so it was easy to defend. After awhile I knew no one was gonna find me so like a really confident or stupid person I pulled out this pistol and not a second to late. Two of the other teams people walked right into my line of fire. I picked both of them off and waited for the rest to come after me. Well as you can guess I didn't last more than 30 seconds, but in that time this little pistol managed to take down SIX people with AEGS, yes AEGS people. It's a tough little cuss.

    Hope this review helped

    5 out of 5- p99

i have had one of these p99 before and it is an awesome gun. it lasted about 4-5 years before it finally broke. for a spring it was tough and it took a lot of drops. i've dropped it on concrete and it didn't break.

5 out of 5- Walthers, Gotta love em (next to Colts of course)

Let's start with the POLICY. I always shoot my guns more than once, I test them in Battle, and I test for their power and accuracy, and I actually own the guns I review.

Well, this gun looks, feels, is, awesome! I shot this gun and just couldn't get enough. Even though most of the gun is sadly plastic, it really shoots very nice and is extremely durable. It can really leave a really big dint on a can. The locking slide is very helpful 'cause it is annoying when you take very careful aim on a person and you have a springer and when you pull the trigger you find out it's out. Whoops, yeah, it's happened to me. Well with this gun the slide locks back when it is out, very helpful.

    Pros
    Locking Slide
    Great Accuracy
    Great Power
    Great Durability
    Feels Great
    Just Plain Great

    Cons
Can't think of anything really (yeah that good)

Really one of the best springs you can get next to a UHC 1911
    AJpilot out

    4 out of 5- p99

This gun is a little deceiving. it takes a .24g bb and it does have a hop up. after about 2 shots with the hop up on .20g bb's you need to switch it off so that you can load it again without a jam.

    PRO'S
    locking slide
    range
    good grip

    CON'S
sights harder to aim than most
    instructions come in 3 languages.

But over all it's a great gun.

4 out of 5- Great little springer

I actually bought this from a separate company, but same product. The sticky target starts to lose its 'sticky' after a while, but that's not a huge issue. The pistol itself is actually wonderful. The performance, in my opinion, is better than the $25 it's priced at. If you want to skirmish with your friends, or even something just to plink around with, then look no further! I had this pistol for about 2 years before I sold it to a friend. I never had any issues, and it was always reliable and decently accurate.

Overall, I give it a 4/5, because it is just a little reliable plinker, and not a whole lot more, but it's a great gun for the money!

    5 out of 5- awesome

This was one of my first airsoft guns, and it's sick! i had it for almost 3 years but then broke. It went through a lot of abuse but always preformed awesome for the price you're paying. If you are starting airsoft, this is a perfect gun!

    5 out of 5- I LOVE IT

THE GUN OVERALL- The walther P99 is the best spring pistol out there. I got it about two years ago and I just wrote a review on it because i wanted to see if it was good.
VELOCITY - The gun can fire from 240-300 fps and I customize airsoft gun spring and this gun fires higher than 240 fps.
QUALITY-this gun has never broken... Still shoots today. If you're buying your first airsoft gun I strongly recommend this gun. I've dropped it, left out in the rain, and dry fired it 1,000,000 times. I guess you just cant break a real German quality gun.
USE- The gun is very easy to use, You cock it and shoot. No need for gas or batteries. just go outside and have fun w/ it.
ACCURACY- Since it's a handgun, from 75 feet it's not going to hit a penny or anything. If you want that you'll need a sniper rifle, but its deadly accuracy and power make up for the downsides. It's quick in battles and its 14 round mag is very fun to reload.
