Okay I know what youre thinking. The market needs another Hi-Capa look-alike as much as Custer needed another Indian. So, you ask yourself what makes KJWs double stack 1911 Tactical any different from all the others out there? Well, the main difference is that this one actually works.

This hefty pistol is constructed out of metal with the only plastic part visible being the Tanio Koba polymer grip. The grip is very detailed with wrap around checkering and features a beveled mag well to help guide the magazine into the pistol during those frantic reloads where every second counts. Also featured is a railed frame for attaching accessories such as a flashlight or laser. Its slide has both fore and aft serrations and has been fitted with white dot combat sights.

KJW has equipped their 1911 with a reinforced, CO2 compatible blow back system which generates impressive recoil and a fast cycle rate. Surprisingly this performance does not come at the cost of eating massive amounts of gas as you can expend the entire magazine of rounds as fast as you can pull the trigger without having the pistol freeze up or even slow down noticeably which is something that has plagued other models.

One thing about this pistol that really impressed us was how accurate it was even at its maximum range. Because it is fitted with an adjustable hop up system you are able to use several different weights of BBs from a .2g all the way up to a .28g. In fact with the heavier BBs we were even able to engage torso sized targets past 50 yards with remarkable consistence. Power is a respectable 300 fps with a .2g BB keeping it at CQB friendly levels. However, if you purchase the CO2 powered magazine available separately the muzzle velocity climbs to 350 fps and gives the pistol an even more menacing kick. Also for you out there who already own a WE Hi-Capa 4.3 or 5.1 youll be happy to know that their magazines are compatible with this KJW. Overall the 1911 Tactical is one of the best pistols we have seen from KJW to date. It has great performance, excellent build quality and killer looks. Dont let this one pass you by.

4 out of 5- Good Performance, but...

*Warning- Long review. If you want good information, look at this. If you want some loser who can't use grammar and hasn't even seen the gun, look elsewhere.*

I'm not exactly sure if the gun i had was an anomaly or what was the exact reason, but in essence, the gun fell apart (I've had the the 1911 or Hi-Capa as KJW calls it for about 2 months now). I'll give you the details on the gun, but keep in mind that the rating I gave the gun is only by what I saw before the gun began malfunctioning.

    Looks 8.5/10
The thing looks beautiful. I'll just tell you that right now. It really does. The black finish is well applied, it doesn't come off unless you really bang up the gun. The TanioKoba grip is a very nice piece- it fits nice in your hand, but if you have smaller hands then the gun will just seem to get bigger. Don't get me wrong, if you're buying this then you should know already the the 1911 is a pretty big pistol as they go, but this only makes it bigger. Personally I would be just as happy with the normal grip as the TanioKoba, but it's all just preference. The Chrome seems a little out of touch and non-realistic, but it's really not a lot of parts, so it's not the worst deal.

    Feel 7/10
It's pretty darn heavy, but hey, that can be a plus depending on what you want. I'm a pretty big guy, and I wouldn't exactly call my hands small, and this thing is still pretty big. So I'll stress that here. This gun LOOKS SMALLER up on the computer screen than it really is. The sights are easy to align as sights go (the white dots help- quite a bit), and trigger pull's pretty heavy, at least with Co2. The gun has a little bit of wobble to it, but it's nothing to really whine about.

    Performance 9/10
Now I bought mine from another site, and there it came with a Co2 mag. For those of you who've never used a Co2 pistol before, One size fits all (at least that I've tried.) With Green gas, it's a good faithful pistol. With Co2, it becomes a monster. Scared the Sh$% out of all of my friends when I fired it off. I'd put it's accuracy somewhere between 80-100 feet, with my best shot hitting an archery target straight in the middle at 100. I did a scientific-style testing, and each Co2 Capsule will get you somewhere between 110 and 120 shots. That's a lot.

Now if the gun was still working, I'd use this section to tell you just how beastly it is. However, it's not, and this is where I tell you what went wrong, so you'll know what to look for if you get it. GET A WARRANTY. First, a small piece of metal sheared off of the outer barrel. The piece of metal was the piece that keeps the Outer barrel from sliding and holds it to the inner barrel, so now I had a very loose outer barrel. You could still shoot with it, but it was a hell of a nuisance. Then came the rapid fire. I'd pull the trigger and it would empty 3 or 4 shots at a time on me. again, not the worst but a hell of a nuisance. and finally, the hammer. Part of the front of the hammer, the part where it actually struck the gun, sheared off. This was caused by (at least I suspect) a part on the upper receiver that caught the hammer as the slide was moving back to it's original position after a shot. In essence, I need an entire new gun, or at least a new Hammer, outer barrel, and loading nozzle. And I did not have a warranty on it, so in essence, I'm going to have to perform major surgery to get it back and running.

Now I'm not sure if it was the Co2 that caused the problems or what was the cause, but I probably got a flawed gun. That's why I still gave it 4/5 stars. Just have a look at the insides of the thing before you go off and unload on somebody, that's all.

    Rock on...

5 out of 5- This gun rocks

I got this gun a about a week ago and i have only experienced one problem with the co2 mag that it came with. the co2 mag tends to leak after the 2nd shot put threw the gun, but the green gas mags work just as good. this gun is full metal and has a very realistic feeling to it when shot.

    Pros
    full metal
    has a slight kick
    feels good in hand
    clips hold 30 rounds
    semi auto
    laser/flashlight compatible

    cons
    co2 mag might leak

Great gun for novice or pro

5 out of 5- it rocks

Sorry you got a piece of poo, RicahardV, but the one i have is rock solid. The gun itself is a nice fit in your hand, if you have large hands. The gun cools off in a hurry if you fire this thing super fast. The accuracy is right on the mark, and my gun shoots a little faster than the 300 feet per second, that they claim.
If you want a nice 45 styled handgun get this gun.
I also bought the CO2 mag for this gun and i recommend it to anyone.

5 out of 5- HEY RICHARD!

dude your friend probably has the crappy $40.00 version of this gun. you don't know what you're talking about. and if what you are saying is true, it is probably a faulty magazine. (but i don't see how if it only shoots "12 feet" it still has the power to make someone bleed.....think about it.....) a fix to that is a new one. hard concept. they make both Co2 and propane mags for this gun, both of which hold 29 rounds which is the highest i've ever seen in a 1911.

    Review-
The gun really is great. It has a nice snappy recoil and shoots moderately accurate. although i think the range might be a little shorter than 130 feet, it certainly shoots more than 12 feet like what "Richard" said. Still i am very happy with my purchase...

    GREAT BUY hope this helped!

5 out of 5- In Yo' FACE Wei-Tech!

So, I acquired this fine piece of machinery shortly after the holidays ... I opened up the box and lo and behold! It actually looked as good as I thought! However, I received the model with the matte black outer barrel and recoil spring guide. Since I had a silver outer barrel from my previous gun, the WE hi-capa 5.1, this wasn't a big issue. Anyways, fresh from the styrofoam this thing is ready to go. Everything's solidly built with higher quality metal, the new Tanio-Koba Olive Drab grip actually feels comfortable and adds a nice look to the gun. Plus, I have noticed that the magwell inside it doesn't leave annoying scratch marks on the magazine. As for the upper region of the gun, the internals do indeed look like they could handle CO2, though they are copies of WE and TM GBBs. It's just better quality, IMO. The forward serrations on the slide are a nice touch as well, as are the white-dot sights.

Generally speaking, quality materials and thoughtful construction everywhere.

Now, the performance when shooting. It shoots fine with Green Gas, provides a nice jump when fired, and it sends the bbs flying at somewhere between 350-380 FPS depending where you are with the gas in the magazine. However... once the CO2 mag is in, its darker side shows through! The added pressure of CO2 bumps the FPS and the range up, roughly 390-400 FPS. On both gaseous magazines, this pistol is very accurate for its size. Honestly I wasn't expecting this because what can you expect from a 'sidearm'? Anyways, it's a nice feature, one that has put my confidence in it and also made me consider this pistol as a primary weapon (I'm insane, I know). If only I could get another one...

So, if you're lazy and don't want to read all that...

    PRO:
    Accurate
    Sturdy
    Good Quality
    OD Grip!
Will accept WE mags (Checked it myself)
    NOT a Gas glutton!
    Magazine capacity
    Looks
    Interchangeable parts
    CO2 ready

    CON:
    One or two internal upgrades
CO2 mag...? (Mine got a valve that sticks sometimes. Easy fix. :^)

Note: Yes, I did have one attempted upgrade with this gun. The stock piston head inside the Blow back chamber was swapped out for a Nine Ball piston head, and it worked. However, once in, the slide was seated back about 1/16ths of an inch so the safety wouldn't engage. Just something to keep in mind.

So, overall, a very nice gas gun by KJW.

    GET IT!

4 out of 5- truly a piece of art... not to mention the gun

first of all, i would like to start this review by saying please say so if this was a helpful review or not.

this gun is an amazing pistol. it has a nice little medium high capacity pistol mag, and is very easy to hold. the pistol feels like it's meant to be there, and looks so cool (it's hard to even explain) while you're holding it. truly one of the best pistols out there. i hope this review was good and short (that's what this short review was for).

ok, when i first got this gun out of the box i had my doubts. but when i felt it, i was a bit over hopeful. but now i finally realize this gun's amazing potential. get custom .23g high polished bbs and this gun is amazingly beast. definitely just as good, if not better sidearm, than the MAC 11 or TF 11. yes i purchased this gun (though not from shorty, sorry shorty, also i feel sorry for myself, lost 10 bucks in savings =o)
    hope this review helped

assassins helpful hint! while picking out a gas pistol, don't look at range and fps. look at how it is supposed to feel, the size, and the mag capacity. this is how you pick out your sidearm. there are guns with the same fps as this (yes, pistols)that cost 40 dollars on this same site.

    5 out of 5- KJW 1911 Tactical O.D.

A friend of mine just bought one of these on my advice (I have the previous KJW 1911 Tactical model in black) and after checking it out side by side I'd have to say that this is a definite improvement.

He bought CO2 mags with his, so I can't comment on gas operation at this time. I suspect that it's most likely on par with mine. Incidentally, with green gas there is a lot of oil distributed throughout the pistol. I have both mags and find that alternating them is the best way to go. My friend also purchased an aftermarket thread barrel and when installed on this gun, it looks and feels very real. The slide has less play in it than my earlier model. It seems very tight and recoils impressively. We managed four clips and part of a fifth on one CO2 cartridge.

Accuracy is very good with nice 3" groupings on a 50' target. This gun really performed well with .25 gram BB's; we didn't do as well with .2 gram ammo and it is a pain to adjust hop-up when trying to correct for the lighter BB. .25 gram BB's seem to be the way to go.

I am a big fan of the 1911 model pistol and many of its variants. If you share this opinion, you'll be well satisfied with this improved KJW.

3 out of 5- Good but not great

This is a great pistol and is all metal which is a plus for me. This pistol feels really solid and it has a good weight to it. I gave it a 3 because it has a low magazine capacity and it has a low velocity. But it is a great sidearm for advanced shooter's.

    Pros:
    heavy
    looks good

    Cons:
low fps (but that's just me)
    low mag capacity

I do not recommend buying this because there are so many better pistols out there.

4 out of 5- great gun!

First of all, this thing is a beast. It is sooo heavy, and it feels like the real deal. But it jammed in the first 5 minutes

    Pros
    mostly metal
    GBB
    good fps
    Tanio Koba grip
    heavy
    good mags
    Co2 ready (don't use co2 mag, it is a piece of s***)
    accurate as heck

    Cons
jammed quickly (this can be fixed by pushing the hammer down so it does not catch on one of the parts)
internals look kinda bad, cheap plastic looking

Overall: great 1911, buy spare GREEN GAS NOT CO2, mags awesome construction, firing, and feel
