The Walther P99 was introduced in 1997 and achieved instant stardom as the new weapon of MI6’s secret agent James Bond of which it has been ever since. The P99 was highly advanced for its time with complex ergonomics incorporated into its polymer frame which is still argued to be one of the most comfortable grips of any production pistol. It also featured such things as a loaded chamber indicator, decocker and firing pin indicator.

Umarex’s spring powered airsoft replica of the P99 is officially licensed by Carl Walther of Germany and bears authentic trademarks. You’ll find this pistol has surprisingly good detail throughout with Walther trademarks on its slide, breach, grip and the magazines base plate. This model features a functional slide lock and even a working firing pin indicator. The indicator protrudes from the rear of the slide to show when the pistol is cocked just like the real thing! This model features an extended ambidextrous magazine release which is integrated into the pistols trigger guard for easy operation by either left or right handed shooters. Kitted out with the included mock suppressor this pistol looks as though Q just pulled it from the MI6 armory for Mr. Bond himself. If you need a few more gadgets you can customize your pistol even more by installing an optional laser or flashlight on its accessory rail.

The pistol also includes an interchangeable rubber backstrap to change the depth of the grip for larger hands. To change the backstrap you simply need to push out a single pin from the bottom of the grip to unlock it from the frame.

With a fixed hop-up system and respectable power the Umarex P99 is great for an afternoon of plinking targets either inside or outside. The .2g BB is recommended for best accuracy when shooting outdoors.

Comes with: Mock suppressor, spare magazine, extra large rubber backstrap and two 400ct. loader bottles.
(Please note that the BBs included with the loader bottles are rather poor quality and we strongly suggest not using them. The loader bottles themselves are quite nice though!)

WARNING!!: This pistol is equipped with a take down lever so the pistol can easily be disassembled. The take down lever is the movable block located on the pistols frame just forward of the trigger. Disassembly is not needed to maintain the pistol and will void its warranty. So please, do not try it. Furthermore, never engage the take down lever and fire the gun. This will result in the slide ejecting off of the gun.

3 out of 5- Good gun, just be careful with it.

I've had three friends who have gotten this gun, and i've got one laying in my closet, and it's pretty cool. the mock suppressor is probably not the smartest thing to use though, it's not lined up enough and will end up making your gun shoot some other direction. also one of my friends turned around while by a tree and it broke off the threads for it. so if you have a lot of patience and steady hands you could risk it and try using it and just fix that each time it breaks, but i don't recommend that. my other two friends broke the threads off of theirs too, just showing how weak it is. one cool feature is the locking slide and open ejection port. the slide ends up locking back after almost each shot, but it's really nothing major at all. it has some good power behind it, but nothing like a nice aeg, but that's obvious since this is just a $30 springer. i also like the mag release lever, located on the trigger guard; it makes it easy to switch mags very quickly. i wouldn't buy one myself, mainly because all three of theirs ended up completely breaking; one of them pretty much exploding when he dropped it, which was partly his fault obviously. but it would be a good gun for smaller backyard games and beginners.

    pros:
    price
included mock silencer(if it's just a wall hanger)
    extra mag
    decent power for a springer
    sturdy feel in your hand
    looks pretty awesome

    cons:
    all plastic
    very flimsy threads for suppressor
may not last as long as you want it too

all in all, a nice gun. just really think about it before buying it.

5 out of 5- great gun

i had this gun for a long time. it was accurate, powerful (to a point) and an overall great sidearm. then one day, i pulled the trigger and the gun exploded. no joke, the slide flew off the top of the gun and the innards were strewn about the field. i'm sure it was a fluke, just a story i thought id share.

4 out of 5- Surprisingly Decent

Well this was the first airsoft gun I got. I really just wanted a cool little plinker and I got all my money's worth from it.

Appearance: This might be where the gun really lags. The most obvious part of the gun is the dull plastic that covers the whole gun. There is not a lot of metal on this gun and it doesn't bother me too much. For all the time I had this gun it has never broken on me. The detailing is ok. There are safety warnings in the side and the fake breach/grips aren't spectacular. You get what you pay for but I wasn't concerned with looks. Overall it does look like a really sweet, small airshow gun. The silencer looks cool and is easy to thread but I'll talk about that later. The firing pin indicator also is pretty sweet. No more double loading BBs...

Construction: Well, it's cheap. The plastic really does have a lot of play and I can easily squeak it in my hands. It also will come apart if you knock out a few pins...yes pins. Also, the quality isn't special. The threads and grade of materials makes it really light. The magazine adds a lot of weight to it...but even with that it's still light. Oh and the magazine though is very nice. I can easily load BBs and the reserve is fantastic. One of the cool things with the gun also is the locking slide. It does work but I have to use the lever to unlock it now. The grips are very nice and textured and the sights are great for quick aiming as well. I also like the safety...it's easy to unload and it can work for lefties! The suppressor though isn't good. The threads are messed up and it can never shoot straight...it also wobbles so you can never judge where it will go also...

Shooting: I've seen better. The range and power is meek. I get about a 3 inch spread at 30ft. Other guns can be spot on at that distance. After about 60ft...the .2s barely reach and .12 curve hard. The hop-up is insane and that's why it can get to 80ft but with no power. It's at most a backyard skirmish gun. It really doesn't hurt that much. Aiming, loading, and cocking are all very easy. The drawback isn't smooth but easy and short. I can do everything fast and the pistol seems very agile to me...it seems like a top choice for James Bond...

Conclusion: If you want a cool little plinker gun this is it. Despite the lower quality...it is a decent gun that has lasted me. For the same or cheaper price i think Shorty offers better springers in my opinion. This gun though does come with a lot of goodies...so it might be worth it if you want to get an entry springer. I had a lot of fun with it and it's still my back-up to my back-up. It has, though ,lost its range and power...but I think it was due to my negligence and user mistreatment...

5 out of 5- Great, lasts long, and accurate.

I bought a two-tone silver and black version of this ..., and it was great. I would not recommend disassembling it, considering that you'll need skill. There are small pieces inside that will snap off and the gun won't successfully load, along with the trigger being loose. It's a five-star rating because it was the first and best airsoft pistol I've ever had, and the accuracy and secret hop-up make up for the mostly-plastic structure. The safety, mag release, trigger, and slide lock are fully metal, and won't bend or snap. There are a couple metal internals, not fully metal though. This gun should have a price raise … people are EASILY getting a gun that completely obliterates the KWC Desert Eagle.

4 out of 5- decent gun

couple of my friends have this. gun itself is decent. there are better for a little less,;but the difference isn't substantial. The silencer, however, is very cool. As the guy above mentioned, it's kind of flimsy, but if it's what you're looking for, this is your best bet. Also, the open ejection is great if that's what you're looking for. I don't think there are any other springs with OEP's for a lower price.

1 out of 5- Don't buy!!! Horrible gun!!!

This gun is held together with pins (you can see them in main picture right in the middle of the trigger guard above the trigger). That pin (at least on my gun) was very loose, every 10 shots or less the pin came out a little bit because of the jolt when fired. I also have the Crosman Stinger P9(a replica of a handgun which I don't know the name of) which is held together the same way. I have had to return the p9 twice because the pins fall out of it. The concept for both guns(P9 and P99) is nice but poorly executed because of the way the gun is held together. You can take a gamble and get the gun if you want to, but be prepared to return the gun in under a year. mine lasted only a day and a half.

    3 out of 5- OK

It's pretty good but the silencer breaks off pretty quick and the mags rattle like crazy. Not too powerful but pretty good for plinking.

3 out of 5- For the money, don't....Just get a KWC.

I have never owned one of these, but I have used several of them extensively, and a couple of my friends have them. One of my friends had the silencer threads break off his the first day he used it, and I have put my other friend's gun back together for him twice after it fell apart. These guns don't last long at all. They are pretty flimsy, and they are all plastic. They have OK power and range for a pistol at this price, but there are much, much, much better spring pistols available for the same amount. Also, though I have never encountered this problem, one of my friends says his gun jams all the time. Or at least the gun doesn't feed. He runs around dry firing half the time because of it. So I can't describe this gun as anything better than "OK" for this price. It has a lot of issues. Yeah, it comes with a lot of extra stuff, but just think about it: why do they need to throw in all that free stuff in order to make the gun sell? Answer: Because the gun sucks!!! Remember, you get what you pay for.

So, for $30, do yourself a favor: get a KWC. I have a had a 1911 series KWC for almost 4 years, and it's still kicking. Plus it still has plenty of power and accuracy. It was my first airsoft gun, and now I'm still using it as my backup secondary to my AEG and NBB. Whatever you do, just don't spend your $30 on this poor excuse for an airsoft pistol. You can do much better for the same amount of money.

    Rock on...

4 out of 5- Over all not my secret spy weapon of choice

Let's start with explaining the title. If you're the type of person who likes hiding behind a tree/rock/shrub or something, and like to shoot your opponent in the back of his neck, well this isn't really your gun. If you try this your mag will probably give you away. Also you should simply be careful with the gun and not run it over with a truck. It does have some, although few in number, metal parts; anyone who might say different has to be a complete idiot who doesn't pay attention to the fact any springer has at least a spring. Moving on to pros and cons now.

    Pros
    looks - it's designed off a Walther P99
light weight - it weighs half the weight of the 1911
30 warranty - would have been nice on the tank like weapon i broke right when i got it out of the package
length - shorter than the 1911 by almost a inch

    Cons
Range - not as good as the 1911
break-ability - my friend ran it over when we tried the same with the 1911 for testing it alongside this - just the orange tip and plastic handles broke
price - less money buys you a better gun, the 1911, but it doesn't look as cool if you're buying it to hang on your wall.

4 out of 5- Walther Pistol

... When I saw it, I thought, "That looks cheap-o," (I have actually had it and shot it) but I shot it, and it was really accurate, and really fast for its price. It was fairly easy cock, and it has lasted like 2 years now. Like one of the reviewers said, don't use the silencer unless you want to miss the target by a long shot.

    Pros:
    good accuracy without silencer
    OK speed
    good for close distance fire

    Cons
    stinks against an AEG
    spring operated
    almost totally plastic

I recommend this gun if you're a beginner. Best with .12 grams. Great if you're a beginner...
