With its massive size and distinctive design, the Desert Eagle is among the most widely recognized handguns ever produced. It has been wielded by heroes and henchmen alike in practically every action film over the last decade making it a Hollywood icon of intimidating firepower. Chambered in the .50AE caliber round the mighty Desert Eagle would leave a gaping hole in anything unfortunate enough to be in its way.

This airsoft replica weighs in at a hefty 2.5 lbs making it quite the boat anchor due to a wide array of metal parts to include a metal slide and barrel. The only main plastic part to be found on this pistol is its lower frame which is solidly constructed out of ABS. As you can see, this pistol houses the 12 gram CO2 cartridge inside of a standard sized magazine so it retains its streamlined profile unlike the previous CO2 version which needed an oversized magazine to house the cartridge.

When we chronographed this pistol it averaged a healthy 320 fps using a .2g BB and was effective out to 120 feet. Although, we did notice that its hop-up was pretty aggressive and would cause .2g BBs to curve up. For this reason we donít suggest using anything lighter than a .25g. Shooting this pistol is great fun because unlike other CO2 pistols which recoil with a sharp jab, the recoil of the Desert Eagle would be best described as a strong shove. If you donít have a good grip when you squeeze off a round the inertia of the heavy slide recoiling will actually lift the muzzle of the pistol. While not being a very realistic feature, this pistol is capable of fully automatic fire in which it can pump out 10 shots in less than 1 second. This we did find eats considerably more CO2 though and the recoil makes it very hard to keep the muzzle on target.

Because of its size and weight it might not be the best choice for a sidearm however for pure shooting entertainment the Desert Eagle CO2 receives a high score.

4 out of 5- I call mine the 'Desert Dragon'

Note: This is actually one of the only reviews I have done for products I actually own. lol

    The War Story:

This gun has had a long history with me. I cannot count the amount of times it has saved my skin. I will give you one of the most notable now, which also gives testament to the power of this weapon.

I was playing one of my first games with this weapon at my side and... some other gun. I forgot what. But it wasn't the star of the show today. Anyway, I was approaching some tangos trying to regroup with the rest of their forces back at their base. I prepared myself to engage them with the AK variant I had, and just as I was about to shoot, I get off 3 rounds and then... my AK jams! I had no time to field strip it and un-jam the barrel, so I pulled out the Desert Eagle and aimed down range at them. The idiots... they thought it was some kinda spring pistol. They had M4 and M14 AEGs, so they started rushing me. I decided, since I was probably gonna get hit anyway, I would at least show them that it wasn't, in fact, a spring pistol. Without even aiming, I lift the Desert Eagle up with one hand and spray its whole 21 round clip at them on full auto. They got the idea, 'cause you could see the dust behind them as they ran the opposite direction with their tails between their legs. I hadn't even hit one of them, and I still effectively stopped the enemy from reinforcing their main force, who were under siege by my teammates. And that's when I started calling it my Desert Dragon. Because it roars like a viking, spits fire, and is always ready to rock your s**t.

    Whoo, I feel good now

    ------------------

Performance Review - If you want to know how I chronograph all my weapon reviews, please read the rest of my reviews to find out

Note: Though this is my gun, I have done NO external or internal upgrading to this weapon

Shot 1: 333 FPS (half of 666, hehe)

    Shot 2: 326 FPS

    Shot 3: 328 FPS

    Shot 4: 319 FPS

    Shot 5: 318 FPS

As you can see, you get fairly tight FPS groupings with this weapon. I admire consistency. And the FPS itself is incredible. It's hard to find any other CO2 powered weapon with this much power

Range tests - KSC 'Perfect' .2g BB's were used for the purpose of this test

Note: I'm going to edit the range testing section a bit to simplify it. I will only include the amount of shots I missed in my attempt to knock down all 3 4x4 inch auto standing targets in a row

    Test 1 - 50 feet

    Shots missed: 0

    Test 2 - 100 feet

    Shots missed: 1

    Test 3 - 120 feet - Level Range

    Shots missed: 1

    Test 4 - 150 feet

    Shots missed: 3

    Test 5 - 200 feet

Shots missed: 7 (note: I got the first 2 and missed the last one on nearly every try I took with this target. I finally got it after 7 tries)

The accuracy isn't all that great on this weapon, but we must recognize the fact that we're using 4x4 inch targets. Man sized targets have no shot at avoiding this incoming fire.

I award my Desert Dragon a solid 7/10 for performance!

    -----------------

    Internal and External review:

Really, this is just an External review. The internals on any CO2 powered weapon do not vary very much, unless it's a completely different style weapon. The externals however, are horrendous...ly awesome! It's almost sad to think that the only part of this gun that isn't metal is the one I'm holding... yes, ladies and gents, the whole thing isn't metal. The grip and frame, however, are a very nicely built ABS plastic, made from one single piece. In other words, no seam lines, and the weapon lasts longer! The grip is textured for optimal handling as well. Things I would've added, however, is a railed frame. It would've taken this sidearm and turned it into a full blown primary weapon!

Internals and Externals for my Desert Dragon are awarded a solid 8/10 stars!

    ---------------

    Feel Review:

This is NOT your average run-of-the-mill CO2 pistol in any aspect, and especially in the feeling department. However, it is lacking slightly. For one, the only parts that aren't metal are the ones you hold, as I said. This takes away from the realism slightly, and not to mention the awesomeness. However, the ABS plastic is comfortable and easy to handle. This gun's massive recoil will not make you lose your hold on it. However, this doesn't necessarily equal comfort. It is actually a pain to hold onto for a while, and I have found gripping it tightly like I instinctively do will create marks in your hands after a while. Not only that, but it's hard for people with small hands such as myself to completely grasp the weapon

For the feel review, I give the Desert Dragon a modest 6/10 stars

    --------------

Realism Review (yes I'm adding another section):

This weapon is nearly the real deal... or real steel, I should say. The IMI trademards on its slide are a very nice touch, and won't wear off with extended play. The metal content on this beast also adds onto the realism in regards to weight. The blow back is strong, and if you don't have a tight grip on the weapon, it will easily free itself from your weak grasp. The locking slide and open ejection port are also things that only make this gun even more realistic. If it weren't for orange tips, I'd be writing this review from New Jersey State Penitentiary. With warmest regards from the man behind me in the shower (

I award my Desert Dragon a 9/10 for realism

    -------------

    Intimidation Review:

Need I go back into the war story? It scared off 4 guys with M4 and M14 AEGs, and it didn't even hit anybody.

I don't even need to say it: 10/10 stars for intimidation!

    -------------

    Final Score:

After averaging everything, the KWC Desert Eagle .50AE CO2 Blow Back airsoft pistol is awarded my highest rating so far, a 9/10 stars. However, I give it a 4/5 because it may be close, but it isn't perfect

    -------------

    Pros and Cons:

    Pros
    -FPS is fairly high
-RoF is pretty good as well
    -Lots of metal content
    -Fully Automatic capabilities
-Scares the living s**t out of people
-Good for CQB and field as a sidearm
-Price is very good for effectiveness

    Cons
    -No metal where it counts
-Sucks down gas... be prepared to bring extra CO2
-Very, very loud... but that also means intimidating
    -Not very comfortable to hold

    -------------

    The Final Word:

The KWC Desert Eagle .50AE CO2 Blow Back is undoubtedly the best CO2 weapon you can buy. While it does encounter problems that all CO2 guns face as well as its own personal problems, the Pros heavily outweigh the Cons in this situation. And for its price, it's hard to find anything that even comes close. I've seen 200 dollar gas pistols that don't perform nearly as well as this baby. Buy one and you most certainly won't be disappointed

And one more thing: only buy it from the professionals at ShortyUSA!

Long live the sport of Airsoft!

    -your daily dose of sh0ck

5 out of 5- Gas guzzler! but still...

This gun is the sickest co2 blowback out there in my opinion! The full auto setting however, you MUST have a FULL co2 canister in there or else people will laugh at you when you fire it, it doesn't sound or look very intimidating, but it can be very useful. If you somehow can get a spare mag i would even consider this gun as a main gun because of the FPS on it. The range with this gun is very good also, me personally, i would use .23grams with it instead of .25 so you don't loose the FPS with it but still get the range. all in all i would recommend this gun to anyone who can get extra mags for it. The gun rocks and is really realistic! very very good! Get two and use both of them!

4 out of 5- Awesome deagle!

This gun is great! The blow back looks super cool and, by the way, I give blow back semi auto deagles 5/5.
But this bad boy has another option! FULL AUTOMATIC!!! 20/5!!! This baby is painful and just the thought of it is super scary! It's great how it's blow back AND full auto, but this thing just depletes C02 canisters super quick so think of that before purchasing this weapon. If getting this gun, you really need to buy a lot of C02 canisters and try to use full auto as sparingly as possible due to the fact of its ""guzzle-age".

    RECAP:
    Looks BADASS
    Blow back
    Semi/full auto
    C02 guzzler

5 out of 5- MUST BUY GUN!

    1. The Desert eagle has the strongest recoil I have ever had in a gas blow back.
    2. It's full auto and full metal slide.
    3. 2 mags worth of gas if you keep it on full auto.
    4. I have gotten 4 mags worth of gas out of it if you use semi auto only.
    5. It's big and bad.
    6. Scares anyone staring down the barrel.
    7. Loud cocking, hammer strike, and blast out the barrel.

Conclusion: must buy for any airsoft player or collectors.

4 out of 5- Great FPS, and ROF, but CO2 Guzzler

I bought my Desert Eagle about 2 months ago and love it. It is easy to maintain and is built like a rock. The accuracy is outstanding and it stings a lot to get hit (at anything less than 15 feet it causes bleeding welts!) However this gun has one flaw, it guzzles your Co2 in about 2-3 Mags or about 70 shots.

    Pro:
    -High RoF in Full Auto
    -Heavy
    -Metal Barrel (also removable
-Stings a lot (says on box 394 FPS)

    Cons:
    -cannot buy spare mags
    -gas guzzler

5 out of 5- desert eagle

well first of all it's a DESERT EAGLE so it's already great. but that's not it. it's co2 ,blow back, and FULL AUTO. they thought of everything for this gun plus it's almost full metal (except for the grip) and a 20rd clip. only bad thing is that it's a co2 guzzler.

    RECAP

    Pros:
    co2
    blow back
    metal
    20rd clip
    full metal

    Cons:
    guzzler

5 out of 5- Best Pistol Worth The Price!

Wow. This gun is pretty amazing. Once you open the box, the first thing you find yourself saying is "wow". This pistol is definitely worth the money. For either a collector, like myself, or even the most hardcore player, this pistol fits all. This gun just came in the mail for me yesterday, and i've already had one of my friends check it out today, who's a really big gun enthusiast, and the first few shots on Full Auto with this Deagle, and he couldn't help but giggle afterward. This pistol is definitely realistic with the style, but also in weight to a real Desert Eagle, but it's phenomenal for an airsoft pistol. The slide feels sleek and elegant, the way every blowback should. Plus, this gun is pretty damn loud, from when you release the slide, or pull off a shot. But it just makes it that more intimidating. Overall, this gun is a MUST BUY. Excellent price range, excellent quality, and amazing overall. Somewhat a gas guzzler, but it's just that more fun.

    5 Stars! Thank You Shorty's!

    4 out of 5- beastly

I luv this gun. Mine goes thru 3-4 mags on semi and 3 on full auto. Which is still 60 rounds. The switch to select auto and semi is hard to move. But overall i love it. Everyone tells me they're intimidated by the sound.

4 out of 5- Great Gun

    Heres the deal:
    Pros:
*very loud and intimidating, awesome sound
*shoots far and hard so don't think that's a problem when about to buy
The only (minor) things you want to keep in mind are that:
*you must purchase a special holster for this gun due to the weight, but its only a few bucks more
*spare mags cost 35 dollars but shorty doesn't sell them, spare mags are also always out of stock everywhere
*the fire selector adjuster on the gun is very hard to move to swith safe, semi, and full auto (its like mission impossible) and i found thats not a problem with just my gun.
    In conclusion buy this gun!
