This flashy CO2 powered 1911 semi auto from TSD was definitely not built for subtle tactics. With chromed out controls and a thunderous report this attractive handgun was designed to stand out in a crowd.
Solidly constructed with a full metal slide and polymer frame the TSD 1911 has a hefty weight of just under two pounds and is very well balanced. Its metal slide is equipped with a fully adjustable rear sight and features laser etched markings along with fore and aft serrations. The pistols frame is also railed so it is able to accept most any aftermarket laser sight or tac light you would want to trick your pistol out with.
The TSD 1911 is a true single action semi auto and operates with a short recoil blow back system. This means that the slide will not recoil quite as far as a traditional blow back would but recoils just far enough to cock the hammer back. Because of this the pistol has an extremely fast cyclic rate and a very sharp kick which makes it an exceptionally fun pistol for backyard speed shooting.
Its powerful recoil and muzzle energy can be contributed to the high pressure CO2 the pistol operates on. It runs off of a single 12 gram CO2 cartridge which is housed in the detachable 16 round magazine. Now, an interesting thing about this magazine is that it uses a different valve system than traditional blow backs. When you insert the magazine into the pistols grip a valve is opened which ports gas into the pistol though a stationary fitting. This is a much more efficient method than the magazine pressing up against a seal which you typically see on blow backs. Due to this design the magazine will actually eject from the pistol due to the gas pressure inside of the fitting when the magazine release is pushed.
When it comes to performance this pistol is noticeably more powerful than traditional blow backs. Producing 400 fps at the muzzle with a .2g BB this pistol is not ideal for most skirmish roles since it is over the limit allowed by most sanctioned fields. However, it is very well suited for ripping apart soda cans and shredding cardboard targets. It is equipped with an adjustable hop-up system although we strongly suggest only using BBs weighing within .25g to .28g for the best trajectory. Long range performance is decent however you can tell this pistol was designed to excel within the 10 to 20 meter engagement distance.
If you are feeling that need for speed then look no further than the TSD 1911. With a sinister muzzle velocity, lightening fast cyclic rate and vicious recoil this pistol is a force to be reckoned with.
: When inserting a magazine containing a fresh CO2 cartridge into the pistol, you may have to push with a little more force than you normally would in order to open the internal valve.
WARNING: Due to inconsistent sizing in other co2 cartridges we strongly advise the use of the co2 cartridges listed below in the recommended items. Problems experienced with other cartridges can or may include failure to fully seat, puncture and or leaking from the mag. Any problems associated with the use of said co2 are not the fault of Shorty USA.
