Known as the gun that won the west, the lever action repeating rifle is an icon of American design as its best. Inventor John Browning took his lever action design from the drawing board to a working prototype in just two weeks. An outstanding achievement considering the lever action rifle was far superior to the breech and muzzle loading rifles of that time and is still produced to this date. While it may look antiquated compared to rifles of today, on the wild frontiers of the 1800s the lever action was one of the most advanced and feared rifles of the period.
During the 50s and 60s the Model 1892 was immortalized by legends of the golden screen such as John Wayne and Chuck Connors who carried this rifle in dozens of films. And now, with this gas powered replica by BRAVO, you have the chance to grab your own airsoft 1892 lever action.
This hansom replica is constructed with all metal components giving it a realistic weight of 5 pounds which is just shy of the real 1892. Its buttstock and forend are molded from polymer but feature a nicely detailed wood grain pattern. The overall detail on this rifle is quite impressive in both appearance and function. You will find such things as the lanyard loop, brass colored butt plate and even a fully functional rear leaf sight. Racking the lever action cycles the bolt just like the real deal and even sounds very similar to cocking a real lever action.
Loading the rifle does require the included loading tool however you do still load through the rifles loading gate on the right of the receiver through which you can push up to 25 rounds into its internal magazine. Gas is loaded into the front of what would be the real rifles tubular magazine after first removing the plug by twisting it a half turn in either direction and pulling it straight off.
When we first tested this rifle we thought that perhaps our chrono was on the brink. But, after testing a few more rifles we found that they actually do shoot that fast. Yes, using green gas, a .2g BB will clear the muzzle at a blistering 530 fps and even a heavyweight .4g will average 440 fps. With this kind of power the 1892 will be pretty much limited to target practice. Although, when charged up with lower pressure HFC134a it was averaging a comfortable 370 fps w/ .2g so with this you would still be able to field the rifle for skirmishes. The rifle is equipped with an adjustable hop-up system so it is capable using a wide range of BB weights, however we do not suggest using anything lighter than a .28g to maintain good accuracy at the high velocity this rifle is capable of producing.
If your inner cowboy has always wanted a blue steeled beauty, or if you simply enjoy ripping soda cans to shreds with a high powered rifle, the BRAVO 1892 is one rifle which you should not pass by.
(Please note: Since this is a mass produced rifle you may see the occasional cosmetic blemish in its finish.)
