The new "Premium" grade airsoft BBs from the Umarex Elite Force division are probably one of the biggest surprises of 2011. When we first received these BBs modestly packaged in recycled plastic bottles we assumed they were just another re-branded, run-of-the-mill airsoft round like everybody else is putting out these days. Well, you know what they say about assuming.2,700 ct. easy pour bottle.
Earth friendly, Biodegradable.
High polished, premium round.
Stealthy dark brown finish.
Manufactured in Taiwan by Green Science.
In short, the ballistic properties of these rounds are unmatched by any other round we have fired to date regardless of it being a standard or BIO round. When compared head to head with some of the markets leading brands who boast tolerances down to the hundredth millimeter, perfect spherical balancing and precision lapping finish, the Elite Force Premium round all but kicks dirt in their face. It reminded us that it does not matter if the BB was molded by angels and hand polished by leprechauns. The only thing that counts is how the round flies when it leaves the barrel.
Both the Elite Force standard and biodegradable premium rounds displayed excellent performance by producing tight full auto groupings and not a single feeding malfunction despite thousands of rounds being fired out of a wide array of different AEG, Gas and Spring guns. And that my friends is pretty amazing considering that they are pound for pound the cheapest airsoft round we currently carry.
If there was ever a round that was specifically designed for marksmen, it is the MilSim MAX. At .32g its weight is half way in-between an all purpose field round and a heavyweight sniper round which gives the .32g a superb blend of long range accuracy and muzzle velocity. The inertia produced by this heavy round allows it to carry its energy to greater distances so it is still be able to punch through underbrush downrange. This also makes the round less likely to be affected by crosswinds or air currents which would otherwise throw off your accuracy. These rounds are a dark brown color so they will be more difficult to spot from the receiving end allowing you to shoot from cover without compromising your position.
