The KWA M9 Tactical P.T.P. (Professional Training Pistol) is an updated version of the original KWA M9. It features a redesigned System 7 blow back unit which produces a much stronger recoil, higher muzzle velocity and better gas efficiency. The magazine has also been updated with a locking follower so you now no longer need a special tool to load it making it is possible to easily reload in the field.

This tactical variant of the M9 differs from the standard version with more aggressive traction pads on both the front and rear of the grip and features a railed frame. The railed frame accepts most rail mounting accessories such as a flashlight or laser sight.

Both the frame and the slide are constructed of metal giving the M9 P.T.P. the exact same weight of the real 9mm M9. Not only is it the same weight but it also operates exactly like the real thing right down to the slide mounted ambidextrous decocker/safey levers. While you’re looking over the pistol note the detailed serrations on the hammer as well as the concaved white dots on the combat sights. Once you stop drooling over the way it looks and actually get down to shooting it, you’ll discover that the System 7 blow back delivers a serious kick and emits a much louder report than the older system. As you snap the P.T.P. out of your holster and double tap two rounds into a target you’ll find it nearly impossible to keep from grinning.

Overall the M9 P.T.P. is an exceptionally realistic model making it perfect for both serious training as well as plinking.

5 out of 5- awesome gun

    Best GBB ever

First of all everything is metal wooooooooo..
well, almost everything except the grip

The mag is all metal, and what's cool is you can click the 'follower' in place, so you don't have to hold it down while loading.

This gun is a monster @ fps, it goes through both sides of the can when shot point blank, and draws blood up close also. you can use .2's but i find it's more accurate when you use .25 gs

The gun is quite loud, has a very nice kick to it w/ propane

I personally don't use the rails on the pistol, but it fits a standard pistol flashlight or a laser

Pros: all metal (mostly), powerful, heavy, fun to shoot, metal mags
Cons: not much i can think of

5 out of 5- THIS THING IS A MONSTER

I just purchased this thing the other day and I'm in love already..this thing hurts .. I would advise NOT shooting anyone with it if they are closer than 15 feet. me and my friends had a little match yesterday and my buddy was running towards a tree in front of me and i was running right at him he fired off some rounds at me and i dove to the ground and popped a few rounds toward the tree and it was around thirty feet away and that was with .2 g bbs too!! when he stepped out to fire again so did i and i hit him in the hand. instantly he stopped and screamed oow hahaha .. he said holy $h-- dude my hand is bleeding !! and it was not just like a little blood - it left a good little gash. no stitches or nuthin', but that was really far for a pistol ... so up close i know it will do some damage .. this gun is amazing and if you want a great pistol you are not going wrong with this one .. it's very accurate, works and feels exactly like the real one ...the only plastic is the hand grips on the sides which you could probably get modded if you wanted. I'm not sure. I haven't even looked into it.I love this gun just the way it is. Especially the sound. it's got a very intimidating snap to it ...since it's blow back it does eat a little bit of propane but whatever you can pick up two nice size bottles of propane at any ... for like 4 bucks.. I'm telling you this pistol is a must have for anyone looking for a powerful sidearm with great accuracy ... let me know if my review helped and thanks for reading

5 out of 5- No gun is perfect, but this is as close as it gets.

    Warning: long, but thorough review!

After doing extensive research, I found that KWA is the most reliable gas gun manufacturer. Their guns are built like tanks, but still shoot fast and hard. After taking this gun out of the box, I knew that I had made an excellent choice with this purchase.

Feel: When you pick this gun up, the first thing I noticed was the weight. Tipping the scale at more than two pounds, this thing is one heavy piece of metal. The next thing I noticed was how well it fit into my hand. My hands are quite small, but I have no trouble wielding this gun. I am sure this gun will fit into big hands just as well.

Appearance: This gun looks beautiful. I'm just going to say that right now. Its paint coat is even with no blemishes of any kind. The paint doesn't chip off after being fired a lot either. KWA has recently added trademarks to this gun. The ones Shortyusa has in stock right now are the ones without trademarks, but once they run out of those they will probably get the ones with trademarks...

Function: I use propane with my gas guns, and they take it fine. Propane can be obtained at most camping stores, which is more than can be said about green gas. I use the Madbull Version Two Propane Adapter, which allows me to add silicone oil to the propane. This gun is quite a monster when it comes to FPS and cycle rate, which is due to the "New Structure" or "System 7" blow back unit. This gives the gun a higher FPS, a faster cycle rate, and more gas efficiency, all with just the right amount of recoil to make it feel powerful and keep your shot steady. I haven't been able to fire this gun a long distance in the warm weather yet, but from what I can tell so far this gun is quite accurate as far as pistols go. Holding this gun alone makes me feel invincible, and firing this gun is something special.

Extras: This gun comes with a railed frame, which allows you to attach a flashlight or laser to it. This gun is completely metal internally and externally, with the exception of the grips and outer barrel. Before you start crying about the outer barrel, read this. The reason it is plastic is to aid the gun's self-lubricating feature, which moves the silicone oil you put into the gun around the gun's different moving parts. I still recommend that you disassemble the gun when you first get it and spray down everything inside with silicone oil, because it comes almost dry of lube. Just make sure you use 100% silicone oil, or else you will encounter some major problems.

Disassembly: This gun is a little hard to reassemble once you disassemble it. I read about this before I got the gun, so I went on youtube and found these videos: "KWA M9 Tactical PTP disassembly Part 1," and "KWA M9 Tactical PTP disassembly Part 2." These should help you with the disassembly and reassembly of this gun if you have any problems.

Read below for a quick summary.

    -good range
    -has a hop up system
    -full metal
    -self lubricates
    -good recoil
    -very intimidating
    -makes you feel invincible

    -none whatsoever

This gun is loud, fast, and deadly, and is arguably the best all-around sidearm available in airsoft. You know you are getting the best when you buy a KWA. This goes for their gas guns, and their AEGs. This gun may be expensive, but if you are going to complain about price, just buy a cheaper gun. But before you do, consider this: KWAs already come with the best parts available, which you will have to buy as extras if you want another brand pistol of the same performance. KWAs are also extremely reliable, so you won't have to replace parts as often as you would other brands. Therefore, KWAs can actually save you money in the long run.

5 out of 5- KWA PTP M9 GBB.

I ordered this pistol from shorty usa.The shipping was slightly early,Thanks.
Packaging was nice.nice box, pistol instructions also came with oil a small tube to use as a applicator,1 hop up tool and a few clips worth of bb's/pellets.Pretty sure you can't order gas online so I also purchased the propane adapter for like the coleman grill tanks, also the bernzomatic tanks for plumbing/soldering are the ....about the gun.very nice looking, very nice feeling.cycling is smooth, very fast and easy to control.not as loud or snappy as I anticipated from other reviews online but that doesn't take away from fps it shoots pretty hot, easily penetrating a pretty heavy cardboard box 30' away and will exit if you don't throw a towel in it or what have get a little over a clip per fill, accuracy will always be debatable, you should know what to expect, these are round balls and barrels have no rifling,so with that said, here's my opinion.20-25'dead nuts,30-60'with a dry barrel is as good as one could hope while still maintaining velocity.60-100'when you know your pistol, you can work around whatever curves may develop.again while maintaining excellent velocity.100' there is no doubt in my mind that you could easily hit someone at this range even with the hop up neutral.with full hop up the pellets/bb's start to curve upward at about 30' and will then continue to rise into the sky.leave the hop up neutral unless you intend to shoot lead. I'll recommend .25 or preferably heavier, they won't effect fps but will be more accurate.summery, build quality is top notch very light/strong alloy frame slide it's tight no rattles.easy to disassemble and maintain.people moan about the plastic outer barrel but there is no downfall. It's a new design and after market parts will follow if it bothers you.all in all an excellent powerful sidearm.keep in mind running around with a coleman\bernzomatic tank is gay so get a couple of clips and a speed loader and you will be at an advantage with this rocket!!

5 out of 5- Fun Pistol

First off, I bought this only because I'm a big fan of pistols. It's a perk of having money. The pistol I use is an upgraded Tokyo Marui Hi-Capa 5.1. This is a great gun to shoot and even to use in a game. This is one of the most all around realistic pistols i have bought to date.

This gun has got to be one of the most aesthetically pleasing guns ever. After reading ShortyUSA's review, I couldn't believe how much I had overlooked. I realized that everything was full metal, and that the weight was the same, and that the recoil was amazing on it. What I never saw though, is how much detail they put in it, so (without the orange tip) it looks exactly like the real deal. If you decide to put a flashlight, laser combo on it with pressure switches, it looks AMAZING. Now I don't use the light on it except for showoff, but it looks, feels, and performs like the real gun. Also, the grip is very nice on it. It isn't my favorite, and I'm looking on putting a different on on it. If i can't find a good one I could always try a custom job on one, but the grip is something you get with the tactical model. The magazines are also nice, to where they are full metal, and you can even move the loading nub into place where it will stay whilst loading it.

This gun has a gnarly kick. For a GBB it has a pretty hard kick. With that kick also comes that bone chilling sound of a metal on metal recoil. Now shorty's says 350 fps with 2g bb's but I use 28g bb's and I get around 280-300 fps which is perfect for a gas pistol. After all, you're not shooting a rifle here. between 50-100 feet you can get some nice consistent groupings. Occasionally, every few clips, I got one straggler that went wayward, but you could easily hit a man sized target at a hundred feet consistently, shot after shot.

This is a really great pistol to use as a primary sidearm. Just because it's not the best doesn't mean it can't compete. This can be used as a great sidearm with 2g bb's. If you need a GBB sidearm, then this is the gun for you.

5 out of 5- Beast Gun

I received my KWA M9 Tactical PTP yesterday and the first thing I noticed was damn this thing is heavy for a pistol. This is my first metal pistol and it is REALLY heavy compared to those cheap plastic springers. The weight of this gun resembles the weight of its real steel counterpart. It weighs about 2.5 pounds and the weight is evenly distributed around the gun so it's very well balanced. When I took this thing out for a test-fire, I was surprised. This thing packs a punch and makes a pretty loud bang (you can hear this from 15 yards away). I use .26g TSD biodegradable BBs and they fly about 130 feet before dropping and is able to hit a torso-sized target about 140 feet away... I took a while to get the hop-up perfect, but once I did, this thing is insanely accurate. This has an open ejection port where the hop-up bucking is and comes with a little tool to adjust it, but if you lose it you can just use your fingernail. This gun has a high cycle rate so it can shoot just about as fast as you can pull the trigger and I believe the magazine holds 23 BBs. The slide will lock back in place when you run out of BBs and also has an open ejection port to easily clear jams and adjust the hop-up (as mentioned above). I use propane in this gun and it doesn't smell very pleasant. A small amount of silicone oil comes with this gun in the box so I decided to add it to my gun. If you put silicone oil in the barrel, I recommend you wipe away the excess oil with a little cotton swab because the extra oil would kill the performance of your gun. I forgot to wipe it away and the BBs curved everywhere... This gun is all metal except for the hand grips and the outer barrel. The outer barrel is made of high impact polymer which reduces friction and also doesn't scratch. The metal parts do scratch pretty easily though, but I think that just makes the M9 look more beast. If you do take the slide off, it is difficult to put it back on if you don't know what you're doing (you gotta hold the blow back spring and rod against the outer barrel while you're sliding the slide back onto the frame of the gun). I'm pretty sure that I'll get most of my friends scared when they first hear me shoot this in a battle. I feel invincible with this and I just love to shoot it... This is the tactical variant so it comes with a railed frame so you can put your little lasers and flashlights on it. I have yet to use it because I don't have any lasers yet. Overall this is an incredible handgun that everyone would enjoy shooting.

    -Scare factor
    -Nice kick from blow back
    -Almost completely metal
    -High impact polymer outer barrel
    -Nice feel and weight
    -High cycle rate
    -Railed frame
    -Magazine capacity
    -Adjustable hop-up
-Scratches quite easily (makes the gun look cooler)

    -Price (although worth every dollar)
    -Scratches quite easily (cheap paint)
-Magazine cannot be loaded with a speed loader since it is the double stack type (the BBs have to be loaded slowly by hand so they can stack on top of each other in a zig-zag pattern.
-Looks exactly like the real thing except for the orange tip (might get you in trouble)
-If you use propane it would smell like rotten eggs
-Your friends might not want to play with you... :(

3 out of 5- Good Pistol, Pain in the Butt

Overall, this is a good pistol, a very good one, hard shooting, loud, decent kickback, the weight is good in your hand, and the material, while I doubt it's metal, feels good in the hand as well.

I've found that the clip will not release without the hammer being cocked back, and that's going to create a few problems in the future possibly. I thought maybe I'd gotten a defective one at first, but upon inspection inside of the gun, it turned out that was how it was made, possibly to avoid having the slide slip out unintentionally while holding the gun, which is actually quite a good idea.

On the bad side, this pistol, when the slide is taken off, is a PAAAAAIN to get back on. I, myself, struggled with it for an hour and a half, and that's with reading the instructions.

Now, on to the magazine. The spring inside of the magazine too, is stronger than a my previous Beretta, making it a little hard to get the pellets in. It also seems like a stronger magazine to take spills, however the bottom part of the mag is held on by GLUE, unlike the previous KWA that was a solid piece of metal, but was easier to break.

All in all, it's a good gun, I like it, and I'm looking forward to my first time in the field with it working at proper potential, not firing at a piece of cardboard.

5 out of 5- MY FAVORITE BLOW BACK

I bought this gun back when there was the operation freefall giveaway. I had finally had a good reason to purchase this gun and get a free mag. when the highly anticipated box arrived, i opened it up and fell in love at first sight.

the weight is exactly like the real deal. i compared it with my Uncle's m9 and it looked just like it. except his didn't have rails which is another amazing feature on this gun.

It's got a crisp loud recoil and holds a perfect amount of bbs. so far i haven't had any flaws or issues and i've probably put about 4 tanks of propane through it. you NEED to lube it a lot though!

I recommend this to anyone looking for a reliable blow back side arm. you can even use this as a primary if you need to. the hop up does take some time to get just right though, but once you have that fixed the gun is great

    all in all, perfect gun!
