First released in 2005 the UTG M324 has set the benchmark for affordable, high performance sniper rifles to which practically every new sniper rifle has been compared to ever since. Over the years we have seen the release of new generations which featured improved specs and build quality as technology advanced. In November, 2009 UTG unveiled the 5th Generation M324 which sees several improvements to the rifles design once again making it the best sniper rifle in its class.

The M324 is extremely solid and beefy which gives it the feel of a military sniper rifle. Its dense synthetic stock has deeply grooved checkered grips while its butt pad is made of real rubber to insure this rifle wonít slip at the critical moment. Included are 3 spacers which increase the depth of the butt pad so you can tailor the length of the butt stock for the best fit. The construction of the rifle is mostly metal with the only exceptions being the stock and magazines. The barrel, receiver, rails, bolt and bolt handle are all made of metal giving the rifle good heft and balance.

For the 5th Generation M324 UTG has redesigned how the barrel is anchored to the receiver. Instead of a single screw which tended to loosen after a few thousand rounds it now has an imbedded cross bar which holds the barrel much more securely and makes a noticeable difference in the rifles accuracy. The bolt action has also been completely redesigned with a whole new bolt handle and bolt cap which now have locking pins similar to those found on an MK96. Even the safety switch is different with a new ergonomic design and more positive operation.

In addition to the new barrel design UTG has also tweaked the hop-up on this rifle making it more aggressive so it can now be more effective with specific heavyweight sniper BBs. Once we had this rifle dialed in with .4g BBs we were consistently pegging a pie plate from 160 feet away! When going up against a standard torso sized target the M324 could consistently connect with its mark from 230 feet. We did note that due to this enhanced hop-up you should not use anything lighter than a .36g BB in order to keep a level trajectory. We had the best results when using Mad Bull .4g BBs.

Included with the M324 are two 25 round magazines, speed loader, cleaning rod and a deluxe non slip rifle sling. UTG is also throwing in their folding weaver rail metal bi-pod!!

Shown with 5th Gen 3-9X40 Illuminated Scope and Weaver Full Size Scope Mount (sold separately).

WARNING: The bolt handle on this rifles action has a transfer pin which actuates the handles locking mechanism. This pin is visible on the front side of the handles base when the bolt action is back. DO NOT depress the pin when the bolt action is back as this will release the handle and the small transfer pin can fall out.

5 out of 5- i actucaly own this gun

Whal almost all the reviews posted for this gun are from people who donít have it, I do and will give you a real review.

this gun comes in 2 parts and is easy to assemble ( put in 3 screws, large one behind the trigger guard, medium one before and small one after the hole for the mags. they come with 6 2 short 2 medium and 2 long. the extra come in handy if you loose one)mine, at any rate, came with a bi pod, 2 25 round mags, an easy loader (comes in handy on the battle field), a non-slip grip sling, and some number of "super spin" bbs. i do not know the weight of these but they are not .25g or .20g bbs. Do not judge the accuracy of the gun by these bbs because they officially suck. I used them in some cheep pistol that I got for x-mas from my parents (. on the box it says that the bi pos isnít included but is and there is even a slot for it in the styrofoam that it comes with.

(With a scope from 100 feet with .25g bbs) I was able to get groupings of no more then 3 inches. I donít recommend shooting at that distance from the start because you need to get the scope sighted.

This gun is very responsive and feels quite solid. Although this gun has seems along the but, bottom of the fore grip and some other places this can be dealt with using automotive sand paper or a razor blade (be careful not to scratch the body with the blade but if you do you can fix it with black paint) the checkered pattern on the fore grip and grip make this gun easy to hold and very comfortable. On this gun the grip has a taper witch makes it fit your hand and adds to the comfort. The bolt may be hard to pull back the first few times due to it being new. This will go away once you use the gun for about 20 shots.

Because this gun has no iron sights it is a requirement that you buy a scope for this. i recommend the 5th Gen 3-9X40 Mil-Dot Red/Green Illuminated Scope or the UTG 4X32 Mil-Dot Airsoft Rifle Scope. Both of these will greatly improve your accuracy.

If you want to use the sling take off the bi pod because even if it is flipped up it had parts that will dig into your back and will start to hurt after a while.
    Lube after each use (buy lots of lube!}
Use hop up for long range not short. it is easily adjustable.

The trademarks on this gun arenít much but here they are:
    CAL 6mm BB
Warning:NOT A TOY, FOR 18 YEARS AND UP

    5 out of 5- I Have A Story...

I was recently in a match with my team against our rivals, Soft Air 6, after the ledendary pyro team. My friend was also on the enemy team. He has this gun and was the teams designated sniper. He is a true marksman, but it doesn't hurt ot have an extremely accurate gun like this. Each of our teams have 6 people. I am my teams Team Leader, and walk slack in matches. Our team uses bases our combat and formations off of tactics used by LRRP Rangers in Veitnam.
We get many of our handsignals and positions and ranks from the military. Our team positions are, Senior RTO, Junior RTO, Senior Scout, Junior Scout, ATL (Assistant Team Leader), and Team leader. (ME!!!) In the following paragrapghs I will show you how this gun is one of the best in its class. So anyway...

My team already had 2 people out (we were playing elimination. One shot your dead). The Junior RTO, and the Senior scout, so we had 4 people remainging. We had succesfully ambushed the other team where I lost my two teammates. We had taken out 3 enemy troopers. The soldiers they had left were, Sniper (my friend), Machine gunner (uses M249 SAW (Squad Automatic Weapon)), and spotter for the sniper. We had set up in a defensive perimeter to wait until the other team walked by so we could ambush them. We were in a tight 360 degree circle. We were in some waist high grass, and our scout did a great job of concealing our position. Then I heard my ATL crawl up and say that we had tangos at 4'o' clock. I told my team to get in line and prepare to ambush them. All of the sudden, out of the quiet, I heard my Senior RTO grunt disturbingly loud. I would later find out that he had taken a sniper shot the the neck and was out. Then all hell broke loose. As my RTO was lying there in agony, the enemy M249 SAW gunner started"a-rat-a-tat-tat-in," and effectively layed down a heavy volume of fire. He had one of those 2400 BB capacity box magazines. There was such a heavy volume of automatic BB fire, that my Senior RTO could not get up to go to the safe zone for people who were eliminated. My team was now pinned down with the odds 3 vs. 3. I tried to gain fire suppierority with my AEG but no luck. It barely slowed them down. An enemy spotter opened up with a TM AEG. I told my now shattered team to make a break for the relative safety of the tree line about 100 feet away. But 100 feet is a long distance when your trying to escape a well prepared ambush. I told my team to run for it while I layed down cover with my AEG. My ATL, one of the more experienced players on the team, crawled 15 feet, then got up and ran. He knew that if he stayed he "died." Then it all ceased. It was deathly silent. I took this oppurtunity to get up and run, but Inoticed my Junior Scout, only a 12 year old, huddling to the ground. the Junior Scout, a cherry, was now thouroughly frightened, and did not want to move. Eventually he got up and ran with me for about five feet before he screamed in pain. About a secind later he was hit in the face. I knew this was not the work of an AEG. This had to be a sniper. As i watched him writhe in agony, the firing picked up. My ATL was now trying to knock out the enemy sniper. We all wanted a little payback after he had taken out two of our comrades. I decided to leave him and run for it. I turned and sprayed the area where I thought my friend, the sniper, to be hiding on full auto. Suddnely was hit. Well actually, my gun was. I would later discover to my horror that he had put a shot up my barrel of the gun as I was turned towards him. He actually put a shot up my Classic Army MP5. SOME PEOPLE!!! Anyway, so I turned aroun but got my chest lit up from the SAW gunner. My ATL was the only one left. Him against 3 others. He managed only to take out the enemy spotter before the SAW got him as well. It was an agonizing defeat, made even worse because we had alowed ourselves to be ambushed while in our perimeter. It turned out that they had crawled up to our location and set up and ambush from about 50 feet away. We hadn't even seen them.

I later learned that, my friend and his sniper rifle were located in a shallow ditch on a hill about 100 feet away. He was wearing a ghillie suit and had foilage native to that area coming from nets he had tied aroung the suit. He looked like a low bush. He told me later at his house that he had been using Phoenix .28's and that they were the most accurate BB ever. I wanted to fire it but he wouldn't let me. It took me three days of begging before he caved in. He let me fire 2 clips. From what I could tell, The gun has amazing range and power and most of all accuracy. I would say that it has extreme accuracy up to 200 feet with the .28 BB. It probably shoots as fast as my gun (315 fps.) It was very sturdy and made no squeks. It was pretty heavy, weighing in at what I would guess to be 7 pounds. It was almost all completely metal and the only part I thought was plastic was the stock. And that is O.K. because most guns have plastic stocks anyway.

If I were to ever have enough money to become a sniper and buy a ghillie suit, sniper rifle, and scopes and mounts and other sniper stuff, I would get this gun as my first choice sniper rifle. If you are a veteran sniper and know how to use and take care of a superb gun, then without a doubt, you should get this gun. But if your are relatively new to airsoft sniping like me, and wnat a sniper rifle, I would slowly build up, and not get this right away. Oh and by the way, miraculously my gun suffered no damage from my friend's idiotic sence of humor. If he was able to put a shot in my barrel from 100 feet away you know this is an accurate weapon. I hope you buy this gun!

    See you in the field

5 out of 5- An Real Owners Take

Yeah i got the M324 when Shorty first got it in and let me tell you, its more of a work of art than a sniper rifle. I also purchased the Leapers 3-9x40 Mil-Dot scope and a compact scope mount to go with it.

Appearence/Feel: UTG has done it again, I mean what a gun. It really looks like a .22 rifle from a distence, even some friends of mine were convinced until they saw the orange tip. That's how real it looks. The bolt is remarkably easy to pull given the force at which this monster shoots. The trigger is very responsive and what I've learned is that you can actually squeeze it slowly and fire it more accurately then just as hard as you can. There is some assembly that is required to put it together, but it is very simple and just requires a couple of screws. The M324 also comes with a bipod, which is very sturdy plus the "feet" are spring loaded. The bipod also has some yaw to it, which is great for adjusting the field of view without moving the whole gun.

Performance: The M324, while coupled with the above mentioned scope, is absolutly fantastic. Within about 10 minutes I had adjusted the elevation and set up the magnification perfectly for an about 15-20 yard length. In conjuction with the scope, I was always hitting a can sized target from 20 yards away. Wanted to see just how small a target i could hit, I placed a wooden dowel, about 30mm high and 18mm across. I st up again, and after two shots, hit my mark and it went flying out of the field of view. I can't tell you how surprised I was with the M324 accuracy.
    The pros and cons are:
    Great Accuracy
    Decent Power
    Realistic Appearence
    Sturdy Bipod
    Adjustable Hop-Up

Useless without and optic=more money spent
Extra money spent KSC on .2 or .25 bbs
    Not Much else

Overall, the M324 is a great sniper rifle that will appeal to the beginner, like me, and the seasoned expert. With the right optics, this is a force to be reckoned with.

5 out of 5- I've held this beast, & saw her in action!

This little beauty is beyond cool. I was there the day Shorty got the most recent test version in, solid like a brick wall, bipod and sling look beyond compare. The Shorty guys did some test firing in their back lot. From their loading dock there's enough room for an 18 wheeler to back in and turn around before you get to a treeline, the shorty guys put a red cup in a tree on the edge of the property, and proceeded to blast away at the cup, and hit it constantly, without a scope, and without the bipod. Even while being fired "al a carte" they were dead on. I'm scared to imagine being on the receiving end.

It's worth every penny, and for about $100, that's a lot of worth.

5 out of 5- great entry level sniper

Initial impressions: Very well made, feels very solid, and is super accurate. I installed a 5th Gen 3x9x50 Illuminated Red-Green Mil-Dot Scope, and dialed it in to 100 feet (pretty standard range for outdoor sniping engagement). Looks phenomenal, quite heavy--around 10 pounds with scope and accessories. Its a bit unwieldy to use in CQB, but you shouldnt be sniping in CQB unless you have designated snipe points for the game.

Craftsmanship: Excellent, great job by Leapers. The only shoddy part is the mag, really. I also have had some problems with the bipod--snaps off occasionally if you put pressure on it wrong accidentally, but easily fixed with a screwdriver. A nicer sling might be nice, but its certainly functional if you know what you're doing. Looks like the USMC M24 sniping system. Very cool.

Power: Its reasonably powerful at roughly 300 FPS, but certainly doesnt have the power of a top-end sniper rifle, like the Smokey's Gun Factory Barrett M-82A1. However, in airsoft, typical range will be from 100-120 feet, and this gun can definitely reach that far. No upgradeability so far, but I'm hearing rumors of an upgradeable bolt being produced. Seems like a moot point though. You shouldnt be using this gun if you arent a skilled marksman and have good field craft, and if you do, this gun is more than sufficient.

Accuracy: Like the other reviews say, it does require a scope, but thats basically a given considering the role. I'm assuming you'd buy this to try the sniping role. With .20 g or heavier bb's, a good marksman can cluster all 25 shots inside a circle the size of a dime from 100 feet, assuming you properly zeroed your scope. I took the lid off of a stick of chapstick that my friend was holding from 150 feet... Even with .12 g bb's you can still get decent groupings. Get a good stockweld, steady trigger pull, and breath control, and you're all set.

Field utility: Obviously, since its matte black, you might want to camo it and add a gun cover. However, the bolt pull is really smooth and light, and the gun is very quiet. HUGE benefit when sniping. Probably the quietest sniper on the market, which is pretty key if you want to get off several shots without having to relocate.

Cons--no iron sights means you do have to get a scope. No upgradeability so far. Its not free (although close to).

Final review: Buy this gun--the package deal is very good, although I actually got mine from Airsplat. Shorty provides some nice extras though, so if I had to buy another, I'd get it from Shorty.

    5 out of 5- I WANT! I WANT!

I've noticed a couple of things about this gun. First of all, its a UTG, which recently has become synononmus with "Ultra High Quality at Ultra Low Prices" so its gotta kick some major ass. Second, that scope is unlike all scopes Shorty sells, as is the Bi-Pod, which makes me think they come standard. UTG gave us the MP5 AEG totaly dressed up, they might do the same with this sniper. Third, LOOK AT IT! It's not a gun, It's a work of art. The bolt handle looks alot more comfortable and durable than the Super 9 (not such a great sniper) and it has a RIS rail on top, making it eaiser to swap out the scope for another accessory, or better scope. Finaly, at UTG prices, you are probably alot closer to owning this gun than you think.

    5 out of 5- Waiting

I'm waiting for this to come out and see the real stats on this baby. right now this thing looks BAD ASS!!! I was going to get the S9, but this came out so now I'm waiting for Christmas to come. If this thing actually shoots 400 fps, comes with two 25 round mags, AND the bipod that goes on the stock of the gun and not the barrel itself, then I'm buying this thing as soon as Christmas is here.

P.S. I like the bipod on the stock better than the bipod going on the barrel because if you put a bipod on the barrel, besides some paint scratching off, you might bend the barrel, and that would suck... major-ly

5 out of 5- Pretty sweet....

UTG really is taking the airsoft market by storm. If indeed this will come with a bipod, scope mount, and 400 FPS with .2s, then this could very well become one of the most popular snipers around. Since it is not upgradable, however, some people might choose a more expensive model to get their gun around 500-550 FPS. Very sweet though, I think I might get this one.

    -TO SHORTY:-
Can you tell us what the scope in the pictures is? Looks awesome, I'd definitly buy it for my M324.

Man this baby looks sweet! I can't wait until she is released. I had a friend buy a Super 9 and scince I don't want to copy him, I will wait for this to come out. From the first time I saw this I said that I wanted it. Now, every day when I come home I look at it and wait for more details to come out. I will post a more In-depth review when I get it.

P.S. SHORTY USA you should post a video on this gun so that we can see it in action.
