New for 2012, the MRF line from ECHO 1 look like something you would expect to see come from of a high end pro shop. Tricked out with a free floating MRF rail system and flip up battle sights these highly detailed M4 series rifles are officially licensed by Troy Industries with full trademarks. Each rifle is equipped with a six position collapsible crane stock which houses a nun-chuck type battery thus eliminating the need for an external battery box and maintaining the rifles low drag, high speed profile.

Like most of the other ECHO 1 rifles, the MRF series uses a lightweight yet durable polymer receiver although the rest of the rifle is constructed out of metal to include its MRF rail system. Its flip up battle sights are also some of the best we have seen on an ECHO 1 rifle to date and have a positive locking mechanism which keeps them from getting knocked down if they rub against underbrush or tree branches.

Internally the rifles have a brand new Version 2 gearbox which has an impressive list of features.

  • Steel gears on 8mm sealed bearing bushings.
  • Steel core spring guide with bearing.
  • Ported polycarb piston head with bearing.
  • Polished chrome cylinder.
  • Polycarb piston with second to last tooth removed.
  • Reinforced gearbox shell.
  • High torque motor.

On the firing line these rifles ran exceptionally smoothly with solid performance. Since they are equipped with a pretty aggressive hop-up bucking we found that you really do not want to be using anything lighter than a .25g to maintain the optimum trajectory. With Elite Force .28g BBs though we found these rifles to be extremely effective at long range and more than capable of connecting with a torso sized target from 60 yards out.

The Troy MRF-C features a 7 inch MFR rail system and 10 inch barrel.

Comes with: Removable low profile foregrip, 9.6v 1500mah battery pack, 300 mah trickle charger and cleaning rod. Battery charge time: 5 hours

5 out of 5- Top of the line!

the new Echo 1 Troy MRF-C is by far the best airsoft gun I've ever had a chance to shoot. This gun packs a punch, shoots accurately and has some awesome range. Couple that with great flip up sights, an awesome feeling rubberized foregrip, and a full metal RIS system, this gun is one heck of a beast.

there's only a few things that don't add up to super quality though. the stock wobbles a little, bust just barely, and I'd rather have wobble then to stiff to move. the charging handle also was a little catchy at first, but after using it and lubing it up, and messing with it doesn't catch as much. and one last thing, the battery usage on the gun....I fired loads of rounds, and eventually, at the end of the airsofting day, the battery started to die, and I needed to recharge. good or bad, I'm not sure, I've never used a gun as much as I have this one! haha.

    TL:DR verison.
overall it's an excellent, awesome gun. I HIGHLY recommend it.

2 out of 5- Good Gun

I bought this gun a while ago and it preformed to all my expectations. Then I saw a full metal M4 that looked the exact same as this one (with different traits) for $20 MORE! So if you don't like metal then this is a great gun.

    -Rails o' Plenty
    -No silly triangle sight
-Battery that comes with it is nice enough
    -Comes with a 300rd mag
    -Fore grip is really solid
-Whole gun is solid (except the crane stock wobbles a bit but you can tape the buffer tube easy)
    -The sights are from CoD

-gotta change the spring for cqb
    -no sling mounts
-orange tip has a microscopic allen key (you can just man-handle it off)

5 out of 5- Great Gun

This gun is pretty good. It has good power, range, accuracy, and killer looks. I use .25g bbs and they are okay, but I would recommend .28g bbs for the best accuracy. The hop-up is pretty good, a little aggressive but good, and it also has a Madbull bucking which is nice. It shoots hard and fast. The FPS is dead on at about 400. The rpm is also 1080, and not 900 (According to Echo1's website). It has a lot of metal giving it a decent weight, not too heavy. The flip-up battle sights are strong and really nice. The RIS is great with plenty of room to mount your favorite accessories.

The stock battery I got was huge and barely fit into the stock, so I would get a different one instead if you have this problem. The first weekend I got to shoot it, I blew threw 15 full 350rd magazines (5250 bbs) in about an hour and I never got a single jam.

The best thing is that this is a whole package deal: it comes with the gun, battery, charger, manual, cleaning rod, 300rd magazine, and foregrip. To disassemble it is also easy, if you wanted to know....

If I were you, I'd add this to your cart. It's worth it.
