The UHC Super 9 has been around for a very long time and has been the leading budget line sniper rifle for as long as anyone can remember. For less than $100 it offers impressive performance and accuracy with a unique shell ejecting feature that no other sniper rifle has.

  • Construction: Due to the size of the rifle it is shipped from the factory disassembled into three main components (stock, barrel and receiver). Its stock and receiver are made out of ABS plastic while its long 26 inch barrel and bolt are made out of metal. The rubber butt pad is very comfortable and is better than some found on real rifles. While this rifle is equipped with an Olympic style peep sight which is fully adjustable for both windage and elevation you are able to mount a scope to it if desired. This is accomplished by using either Dovetail Scope Rings or by installing Super 9 Scope & Bi-Pod Weaver RAIL Mounts.

There are two different feeding systems you can use with the Super 9. One is a 25 round stick magazine which clips to the outside of the guns receiver. The other is a rotary magazine which holds 5 bullet shaped shells. Each shell holds 1 BB. As you work the bolt action the shells are chambered and once fired are ejected out the side of the gun when you rack the action back for the next shot. This is a lot of fun to watch and is extremely realistic as the shells flip through the air. Please note that the Super 9 comes with BOTH the side mounted stick magazine and the rotary magazine with 5 shells.

  • Performance: The Super 9 has seen several changes over the years. In the late 90s the PRO Version 2 was introduced with a hop up system which greatly increased the range of this sniper rifle. Now UHC has updated it yet again by installing a high performance spring and better sealing piston head. This increased the muzzle velocity of the rifle an additional 105 fps while extending the guns range so it can now effectively hit a torso sized target at 50 yards.

Please note: If you wish to mount a scope or bi-pod to this rifle you will need to get the Super 9 Scope & Bi-Pod Weaver RAIL Mounts (MNT-UA314K) available separately in the recommended items below. These mounts are required to attach either accessory to this rifle.

If you are getting one of your first Sniper Rifles please take a moment and read the following Hints and Tips for Sniper Rifles.

  • Operation: Spring
  • Fire mode/s: Manual cocking
  • Muzzle velocity: 380 fps w/ .2g
  • Effective range: 150 feet
  • Ammo type: .2g to .25g (high polished recommended for best accuracy)
  • Hop Up: Fixed

    5 out of 5- The Super 9 V2

    Box Contents:
The box (or at least mine at any rate) comes with the Super 9 (here after called the S9) separated into 4 major parts. It also comes with 10 shells, 1 shell magazine, 1 stick magazine, and 200bbs. Assembly is quite simple and I will not go in depth. The bbís that come with the box are not .2 and not .12. To this day I have not been able to figure out their exact weight. With this in mind, donít judge the performance of your gun by shooting these bbís, or you will say that the hop-up is retarded.

    Appearance & Feel:
Once the gun was completely assembled, I picked it up and shouldered it. Unsurprisingly, it felt like a lighter version of many real rifles I had held. The body is not made out of plastic, but it has an extremely solid feel. I had no doubt that the body could withstand any amount of abuse. The stock is okay, I personally think that it could look better, but it will have to do. Nearly all of the weight of the gun comes from the stock, no doubt because of a lead weight or something similar used just to weigh it down. There are no trademarks on the S9 of any kind (unless you count the hop-up pro sticker), so those of you who buy an airsoft gun just for it to be a wall hanger, this is not your gun. I went through the motions of the bolt action. The first five times or so, it was rough, but became easier with every time. I dry-fired (not recommended) a couple of times to a very quiet sound (compared to most AEGís). I instantly thought that this would be a helpful of aspect of the S9 for sniping on the field. I began to fiddle with the different parts of the gun to find the part that I would hate the most. The barrel. Donít get me wrong, the interior barrel is great, all metal of course, and 6.1 mm (classic army stock barrels are 6.15 mm). The problem however is the outer barrel, and how the barrel fits into the gun. The barrel, after about five shots, began to come out of the gun due to the loose fit (the fit is very loose even with the plastic thing that holds your barrel in place). This is perhaps another reason some people say that the hop-up sucks. If the barrel begins to come out of the gun, the hop-up will make even .25ís curve up. The barrel problem was fixed easily with glue. A little sloppy, yes, but it gets the job done. Now to the sights. The iron (plastic) sights on the S9 suck. There is no getting around that. The only solution is to buy the scope, which by the way is an invaluable asset. The overall appearance of the S9 is quite good, even with the lack of trademarks.

The performance of the stock S9 amazed me. Accuracy (even without the scope) was unbelievable. The description on this sight slightly underestimates the performance. If lubed and kept in good condition, the S9 can shoot .2ís at 296 fps on average. This also increases its effective range to about 140 ft max. Not bad for $80. Even if you are using a stock S9, I highly recommend using .25 bbís. That greatly increase its accuracy and (if lubed) decrease effective range to about 115ft. Rate of fire is of course slow, but remember that you are buying a bolt action sniper rifle. A good sniper, however, should be able to squeeze off 60 rpm. 1 shot per second for a springer isnít bad. The performance of this gun is actually better than that of a stock Tokyo Marui APS-2 and price is about 1/5.

The scope is definitely worth getting. It provides you with great accuracy, and makes your gun looks sweet. Assembly couldnít be easier. Buy it.

    Front Sight Manipulation:
With the scope on, you may or may not like the look of the front sight. I found that I hated it, so I decided to remove it and attach a silencer. The front sight takes some strength to get off, but it will come off in time. After the removal of the front sight, it will leave you with about 2-2.5 inches of inner barrel. I attached the metal silencer from this sight with no problems what so ever. For a picture and other Super 9 upgrades go to for a guide and review.

    Internal Upgrades:
If you plan on using this in competitive airsoft, you will likely need some internal upgrades. Almost all of the S9ís internals are in the bolt. Most of the internals cannot be upgraded, and most
donít need to be. If you are scared of breaking your internals, donít be. Shorty is now selling spare bolts for only $10. Canít beat that. There are 2 main internal upgrades-
Spring- I find that the Laylax APS-2 series springs from can easily replace the original spring. I personally have the 170% spring installed and my gun is currently shooting 425 fps with .25ís. The spring should cost about $20.
Spring Guide- The stock spring guide in the S9 is made of plastic, and probably couldnít support a stronger spring. It is possible to buy the metal APS-2 spring guide from for about $35. There are other ways to make a homemade spring guide out of a nail and a washer. I am using my homemade spring guide and have not had any problems yet. To find out how to replace some of the internals you can use dougís S9 guide as I did at this site:

The S9 of course, is only useful in the field. If you use it in a CQB match you will get your ass kicked. The S9 is quite long, and it is a no brainer that it should only be used outdoors.

The S9 is easily the best sniper rifle economically that I have ever seen. The APS-2 and Socom rifles are slightly higher and quality, and 5 times the price. Performance is nearly the same. The deal here at Shorty is ridiculous. Buy it now, and be forever grateful. Also if you are ordering off another site, DO NOT BUY THE SUPER 9 PRO VERSION """1"""!!!!!! Make sure you buy a version 2, because the difference between the 2 is unbelievable. And remember before upgrading that you are not going to have a warranty anymore.

5 out of 5- very nice spring gun

well here's what i have to say about the super 9:
    it is very powerful
    it is very accurate
it has a very cool bolt action, with shells, and revolving mag
it is a relatively quiet gun

but i have found some downsides
it is very large and bulky, it's 47"long (3.19 feet long)(pick up a yardstick)
not great for combat, the size makes it hard to transport, and it takes a second to take your sights. unless you are the designated sniper of a very efficient combat squad, this will not do you much good (the enemies can easily take you down when they locate you if you don't have good support fire. if you plan to use this in combat:
    1) wear camo and stay near tall grass, trees, bushes, etc.
    2) don't move if you don't have to (unless someone has spotted you, and is charging)
    3) dont "snipe" anyone in a 4 person squad from closer than 50 feet.(this will lead to disaster)(you cant hit all of them before they get within range to return fire/ they can hear where it was fired from)
if you do any of these things, you will say that this gun sucks, and blame it on the gun (you will always lose with this gun if you dont follow these rules).

on the other hand this is the best gun i know for target practice (for under 200 dollars)

buy the scope, it is an invaluable asset.

overall: buy this gun for power, accuracy, target practice, and cool features, or if you become skilled with it, use it as a sniper in combat.

5 out of 5- Great gun

This is the best sniper rifle for the money, it is very powerful and shoots really far and accurate. A little tip is DO NOT SPRAY AIR SOFT GUN LUBE DOWN THROUGH THE TIP OF THE BARREL IT GETS INTO BOLT AND MAKES IT SHOOT LIKE CRAP!!!!!!

3 out of 5- Its a good gun

I have to give this gun a 3 star rating. this is because like others have said it is a little hard to cock.....AT FIRST!!!!! the other people above never gave this gun a chance. it is a little hard to cock when you are in the prone position but you do get used to it. I have had this gun for over a year and have had almost no problems with it. i would recomend this gun for people who are serious about airsoft and who are willing to pay extra for .20 ammo. other reviews say that the hop up is retarded and this gun cant hit anyone from 10 feet away. this is because these people are cheap. they go out to the store and buy the cheapest ammo that they can find which is .12 ammo. they are right, the hop up does suck when you use .12 ammo. if they spent the extra money on .20 ammo they would see much different results. when you shoot .12 ammo the BB curves up in the air. put .20 ammo in this gun which shorty usa says only to use and you'll be pickin people off from 120 feet. this is the perfect gun for the serious, experience arisofter not the beginer who saw this on the sight and thought it was cool. beginers get a $20-$30 gun. i would recomend the tangfolio witness, and the UHC M9.

    Ps: USE .20 AMMO!!!!!!!!!

    Hope this helped,

5 out of 5- best gun ever

I just got my super 9 one week ago with a scope and two extra mags and boy is this gun cool, powerful, sturdy, and a blast to shoot. I definately recommend getting a scope for the super 9 because it just is so much cooler and so much more accurate. I have not tested it in battle yet but I have zerod it in so well that from 20 ft I can shoot a bb on the ground. Also it is very powerful. From 25 ft I blew the head of of a small army man and the bb put a quarter inch dent in my wall after shooting through one layer of cardboard at 10 ft. on disadvantage though is that while in prone it is mediumly hard to draw back the bolt and the sling swivels creak as the turn. Over all this is the best gun anyone I know has shot ever and it is well worth the money.

4 out of 5- Amazing gun

This gun has a great price for an amazing shot. First off, this is a pretty big gun. Its about 3 feet long and about an inch in thickness. The whole gun is a very sturdy gun and feels impossible to break.
There is one plus why to get this gun. But why buy a gun if it shoots bad. That isn't the case here. This gun can shoot amazingly well. The gun can shoot around 110 feet before the bb even starts to curve! This gun also packs a powerful punch that nobody would want to get infront of. Although I haven't specifically tested it on carboard or wood, it can go straight through aluminum cans.

Another great addition to this gun is the cock bolt action. I believe that to have a good gun it should be as close as possible to the real thing. BUY A SPARE BOLT. That can't be stressed enough. After awhile (atleast a year or more) the bolt will eventually wear out. And for the extreme airsoft fans, 3 days waiting for a new bolt is way too long so do yourself a favor and buy a bolt when you order this gun.
If you play in airsoft wars, don't buy the spare shells. The rotary magazine only holds 5 shots and then you have to reload. If you plan to use the gun during most of the fight start loading the direct feed system(Holds 25 rounds instead of five). Plus if you are using the shells, catch them when ejecting. Everytime after a shot, when pulling the bolt back the shell ejects. This can easily hold you back in a war. Since each shell is a dollar it is better to leave the shells to the target practice.

Honestly, the scope isn't really needed if you are not fighting in wars. The sight is acurate enough to hit the target. If you are going to be sniping targets(or friends) and you want to be deadly acurate then buy the scope and you will be able to pick off people easily. Since a gun cost this much you most definitly want to buy the gun lube or you gun will perform worse every shot but then again that goes for any other gun. If you are going to lay down and snipe then spend the money and get a bipod. It will steady your shot and will make it easy to hit the target.

For the snipers in wars, do not just rely on this gun, have a nice pistol to help you out when 3 guys are charging at you. The gun takes time to cock so don't stand out in the middle of the field in plain sight of everybody else and just start shooting. I know this is commonsense but I have read the reviews and people say it takes too long to cock and they end up getting shot. I suggest an electric blowback pistol(semiautomatic)to get you out of tight spots. Now if you don't have enough money for a pistol and sniper start saving up or get shot up pretty badly in a war. My advice is buy this gun and you will never regret it. Your enemies will think twice before attacking your base. Buy it now because ShortyUsa is selling this gun at a great price that beats every other store. I hope this helped.

5 out of 5- Whats wrong with you guys?

I don't know what's wrong with your super 9, but mine is incredible. best begining sniper you'll find anywhere. I've had it for several years and have learned to disgrace my opponents in style. The 2 major, serious (and at least well thought out) complaints I've read are it's hard to cock against your shoulder and you lose the shells. If you get good enough, you can overcome the first just by practice. as for losing shells, I have learned to catch them as they eject, however if you can't, here's an idea, PICK IT UP. Also theres this little thing called a pocket to put them in. i like to have loaded shells in one and empty in the other. Get this gun, you won't be disappointed. trust me

5 out of 5- Awsome buy

Okay, at first the gun is pretty hard to cock, and I'm 13, but after about 10 or 11 shots it was a breeze, all those people who say they have to bring it down to their legs are weak. This gun is super powerfull, i was playing with 10 or 12 buddies, and was letting my friend alex use it for a match, and while reloading hit me point blank in the arm, and i started bleeding, like bad. All and all this gun ROCKS me and my best friend ken were shooting it, and i blew it right through blanket, cept, the blanket was pulled tight, but still. I have only 2 minor problems, which are fixable... hopefully... first, sometimes it dost cock right, and it wont shoot, and u have to re do the cocking prosses, and second for some reason mine curve up, i try to buy the most expensive white .2g bbs, but the still curve up, ANY IDEAS WHAT TO DO??!?!!?!?

well this is for sure one of the best sniper guns, if thats what your into, and you have the pactince to wait and watch and wait some more.

Ive had this gun since the X mas of 04 and its still perfect i highly recomend this gun with a scope, and try to stay away from using shells, cuz their fun, and you get hooked on them, then u use em and cant find them, so use the stick mag. last always have a back up, hense slow fire rate, but id rather have tons of power and accuracty and trade 2 seconds of cocking time, but get something like a semi auto pistol, or something nice in case u find ur self in a tight situation

well hoped this helped, Id love to answer any questions u have
so E-mail me, and let me know its about airsoft, so i dont think its spam or junk or whatever its called
